The Real Thief

Love this author. Such a good book. Other than being a really simple and fun story, there are obvious lessons about honesty with yourself and with others, trust, empathy, friendship, and forgiveness. I got this book as a gift for my 9 year old, who loves to read, but ended up reading it to her after she requested it as a bedtime read. Everything I've read from this author - most of their work, at this point - has been worth the time and the money.

I love all of William Steig's work. He is an artist in the true sense. If I could live in his world for a day it would be enlightening! This story is beautifully written and engaging. My daughter and I thoroughly enjoyed itl

I bought this book on the recommendation of some homeschooling friends, and my son and I loved the story. Definitely worth having in your library.

Used this book with my ESL Middle School students and they loved it! Great characters and plot. Lots of good vocabulary and fun discussions about right and wrong, friendships, loyalty, justice. Great book!

Great book to teach about inferencing and focus on details for younger students.

Cuando Gawain es acusado de robo, nada puede salvarle salvo su reputación, que de poco le sirve, o el verdadero ladrón, cuyos miedos le impiden hacer lo correcto. En esa situación, todos se sienten infelices.Un cuento sencillo, muy bonito, muy bien escrito y muy entretenido. Está lleno de valores: honor, honradez, valentía, perdón... pero sin resultar moralizante. Muy recomendable, como todo lo de William Steig.
