Avenger ABF B Series Graphite Baitfeeder Saltwater Spinning Reel

I have several different sizes of the Okuma spinning reels and have been very satisfied with each. The ABF 6000 and ABF-B 6500 are heavy duty reels I use for catfishing. I do feel the increased capacity of the 6500 is worth the extra cost. Additionally, the bait runner switch on the 6500 is activated by flipping the switch in the opposite direction than that of the 6000 which is an improvement as well. If you slide the 6000 in a rod holder you can accidentally activate the bait runner inadvertently. Either way both are great, but in my opinion the ABF series is a step up in both lane capacity and the way the bait runner switch works. Both reels are extremely smooth!

When it comes to purchasing items usually my husband will send me the item to see and ask me to read the reviews and to give me my opinion of what I think. So this reel just so happened to be one that he had sent me. I read mixed reviews but decided for the price, why not give it a shot! We paired this with a rod we currently had laying around the house and a few days later took it out to give it a test run. When it came to performance this thing is a beast! It pulled in a 58” 100lb Black drum like nothing in a matter of 2 mins. We had read a lot of comments of it breaking or that the bearings went bad but to me, it’s like anything else, if you use the equipment the way it was intended to be used and perform proper maintenance to the equipment then it is going to last. We live in an area that is all saltwater and oil our reels every month and have not had an issue yet. We loved this one so much that we purchased a second one that is the next model below for my father as a Christmas gift. If you are looking for something that is durable and reasonably priced then you should definitely get one, you will not regret it!

Nothing like that run! Great reel, couldn’t be happier. I’ve had it for almost a year now, no issues. I’ll order another one eventually so I can have two (been using baitcaster as 2nd lol). This is my carp reel and it’s the best

I originally bought an 8' heavy action Whoppin' Stick spinning combo from Bass Pro years ago and the reel it came with was not great and was finally giving out. I wanted to get a decent reel that was affordable and especially wanted a baitfeeder feature since I fish a lot at night for catfish. So, I went with this reel and I am happy I did. For a hair under $70 I think you will be hard pressed to find a better spinning reel especially with the baitfeeder feature. The baitfeeder works great! I have read some reviews stating the clicker on the baitfeeder was not loud enough. I suppose if you are a long way away, but if you are within 10ft or so of the reel it is plenty loud. Plus it is a blast to hear the clicker start going. - Affordable - Smooth casting - Smooth reeling - Strong build construction I cannot compare this to old Okuma reels as this is the first one I have owned, but with everything I have witnessed so far with the few times I have had it out, I would definitely buy it again.

I use this reel on all of my catfishing setups and, after seeing them in use, many of my friends have also purchased a few. The baitfeeder works great, although it can be pretty quiet sometimes (1 out of 6 that I've ordered made almost zero sound while letting out line for a bite). Very durable, I've fished fresh water and salt water with zero issues on rust or wear and tear on any components. If you're considering it, do yourself a favor and buy it. Its the best reel on the market in my opinion.

This reel is amazing the bait feeder feature is the best thing ever invented for a spinning reel.. I caught 4 catfish today each one took off made the reel scream best part you just pick up soon as you start reeeling the second drag locks and main drag takes over... This reel is a must no more rods getting pulled in by big cats lol... The reel is smooth casting and reeling..

I bought this reel to pair up with my 9 foot ugly stick for surf fishing and I have to say that it works beautifully. The reel cast and retrieves very smoothly and will cast long distances no problem. The bait-feeder system works like a charm and I have yet to have problems with it as I have attached small live pin fish to this several times and this feature always them to move naturally to attract the fish I am waiting for. After using this product for around 6 months at least once weekly I can say that it is sturdy and all I have done is give it a good rinse off in fresh water at home after each use and still cast as smooth as the day I bought it. I have had no issue with the main drag or the bait-feeder drag. Overall all I would say this is a great reel for the price.

This reel works perfectly and pairs well with my Daiwa Beef Kitty rod. I have zero complaints with this reel and would recommend it to anyone with a need for such a beefy reel.
