MichePrimato Advanced 144pcd Track Chainring

I started on my single speed with 49 chainrings and 17 teeth on the wheel but was spinning just a bit too fast on the flat. As my fitness and strength have improved I've upped the chainring to 51. This gives me exactly a 3 to one ratio now, one full rotation of the crank delivers 3 turns of the rear wheel. Just two extra teeth on the front make the world of difference and while I thought it would make the hills much harder I find because I'm not spinning so fast on the flat I have more energy to hit the hills too - nothing too steep though on my normal runs. Don't forget to order a new chain if you are going up in size on the chainring on a single speed and for this ring, you will need a KMC Z1 Wide and a chain splitter too. I have the mini Park Tools version and it's great.
