Nice handles but screws lack strength
These handles are very nice and heavy. Sounds strange but they even feel nice in your hand. They look great and a bit regal IMO. Note about the screws. I pre-drilled the holes using 5/32 bit; the wood is soft in this case. I used an impact drill to install. The first handle went in solid; only used impact the last quarter. On the second handle it looked like one side of the "plate" had a bit of a gap so I tried to screw it in further using the drill but the screw head came off. So go easy using tools. Once I was finished I noticed the screw heads are sharp which is easy to file down but some of the black paint came off as well which stands out against the black plate. Maybe the next size up on drill bits would help; I don't have that bit which is why I went smaller. Good luck!

Replaced our french door knobs with these, looks great!
We really like these. Nice and sturdy. The only complaint is that the screws snapped off in my hard wood door (oak). I pre-drilled larger holes and also used different screws (GRK) after I spray painted them black on their tops.
