Nature's Seed TURF-LOPE-2000-F Perennial Ryegrass Seed Blend, 2000 sq'

This grass is amazing! The grass next to our patio was destroyed by the patio installation, trucks, gravel, etc. last year. With 3 large dogs it never bounced back. We got a few loads of topsoil, spread it, then seeded. The first picture is the day after seeding. We luckily got about 4 days of solid rain, and kept it moist by watering morning and night for about 30 minutes. The instructions suggest putting straw over to keep moist, but we just spread fresh grass clippings over it, as we didn’t want to spend more $ on straw. Worked like a charm! After about a week and a half it looked like moss from a distance, and up close you could see little sprouts coming up. This 2nd picture is is 3 weeks later! And there are still little sprouts coming up, and thickening up all the time! This was one large bag. We just ordered a 2nd bag to fill in the dead areas in the yard left from the dogs, and to just thicken up what’s still coming up. Absolutely buy this!!! Also we planted 1st week of may in southern Idaho. Took the 2nd pic on the 30th of may!

I mixed this with an annual ryegrass to seed over part of our yard that had to be dug up in the fall for a new septic treatment plant, in order to reduce erosion of the newly bare ground during the rainy winter. The two together did great, growing fast and thick even in the cooler months, and it's stayed pretty green even into late July, which has to be this perennial as the annual rye products alone have NEVER done that before (the annual variety is not intended to). I figured this might fade too in our heat, and it still might in August when it usually gets really hot and dry but on July 27, still doing well. No sprinkler system available, but it's done what I needed it for.Update: The grass did die back in the late summer heat, but by December it was coming up agan in some areas, whether coming back from dormancy or from seeding itself I don't know. I've been pleased with this product and am ordering more for this winter.

I got a 5lb bag of Nature's Seed Perennial Ryegrass, a bag of MiracleGro gardening soil, and planted a handful of seeds in a container that I put inside my house near a window where I could keep the soil moist in a climate-controlled environment with plenty of sunshine. The seeds germinated after about a week, and I would say a good percentage of the seeds germinated. After 2 weeks, the grass is growing thick and tall in my controlled environment. I will be excited to plant this in my yard and watch it grow. I will attach a picture of the grass.For comparison, I planted some Outsidepride Midnight Kentucky Bluegrass at the same time, which seems to barely have grown at all compared to this Perennial Ryegrass.

Only half of seed sprouted

The grass looks and feels great but the coverage wasn't 100% sufficient. We will need to order more next year as there are gaps and it isn't as dense consistently throughout despite ordering what should have been enough for the area.

This is the best shade grass seed I've ever used. This is the second time I purchased this seed and I get great results. Grass appears withing 2 weeks and grows fast. The key to this seed is to water it in, cover it with straw and then keep it moist. Like magic, grass appears. I'm a fan and will buy it again as I expand my grass around my property.

I planted this grass in separate areas at different times, initially this grass grew very well but like clockwork the grass thinned out and died in order of the plantings. The surrounding areas with established grass or grass planted from other seeds remained beautiful but anywhere this grass was planted died. Prime soil was used and the grass was watered appropriately. I have been successfully planting grass for about 30 years and this is the first time I encountered this type of problem.

Used this to reseed my lawn after I inadvertently destroyed a good part of my lawn after applying too much crabgrass killer to my front yard. Waited few weeks till the herbicide I had used dissipated. Then tilled the many barespots left by the dead crabgrass and damaged lawn grass. Watered it twice daily in the fall weather. Had a VERY high percentage of the seeds actually produce grass plants. The resulting grass itself was a beautiful shade of green, soft to touch and very dense. 100% satisfied and plan to reseed my lawn every year with this product going forward.
