Great product, but one caveat
This is a very effective cabinet fastener -I have no small children but I do have a young and curious cat who gets into everything including the cabinets where I keep my glassware, and tying them shut with plastic bags or cloth was very unsightly. I went looking for some thing that was easy to install and I found these, The instructions were easy and I installed them quickly. BUT - be careful when pulling the straps through to make the loops around the cabinet handles - if you go too far and make them too small, they will NOT back out again, you will need to discard it and start over. Make sure you are leaving enough space when you have handles that are close together, if you don't the fasteners will not line up properly and it will be hard to close them again once you open them. Otherwise, highly recommended, they are easy to open and close as needed. I bought them in the clear/white as I have blond wood cabinets.

Worked for me!
I moved into an apartment with original cabinets, and these are the only cabinet locks that require no adhesive or hardware that I could find to fit! They keep my cat out. They were easy to install and easy to use multiple times a day. My only issue was that two of the cover caps were broken off at the hinge. But I realized, why do they need to be attached at the hinge to work? Answer: they donโt. I installed per instructions and snapped the cover on just fine with no hinge. Could you tell from the photo? I doubt it! Just be sure not to install too tightly or you will struggle to open and reclose. Try it a little loose first. Open and close before cutting excess and closing cap. Then decide if you want to tighten more. Thatโs my advice.

Like plastic belts. They get the job done.
We tried the magnet locks and some fell off of the doors. I donโt blame the product, when a toddler is out to open a door you need more than tape to stop them. These were a great alternative to the magnets. We use the surviving magnets but we needed locks for the other cabinets. These are like zip ties without the safety fail safe of trying again. This is the only real negative. The other issue is more of a style preference, the are opaque plastic - like zip ties. However, instead of drilling holes into my cabinets I appreciate how these work. You press the button in the middle and the cabinet opens up. Today my toddler tested them out again and after 2 yanks he felt no give and just walked away. Normally, when he feels a little give he has found his new project... pulling until the door is free. I stay on top of him so this doesnโt happen but the magnets way on 2 sets of cabinets. 1 partly to not adhearing it well during installation and the second it was my toddlers brute force - regardless of me trying to protect the cabinet magnets. These plastic zip tie locks keep the cabinet doors in plac thus he has no interest. Once you get used to how they work installation is simple but we accidentally over tightened and wasted a set. I like them over the magnets for function but the magnets are more pleasant to the eye.

They work and are easy to use without damaging surfaces!
Easy to install without drilling and messing up our cabinets. Easy for adults to open and close with one hand; difficult for babies and even our 5 year old to open. It's small and neater looking than other styles and blends with my furniture. They are extremely durable-Best purchase ever! Follow directions! Watch out not to install too tight or you will struggle to open and close. Test it a little loose first. Open and close before cutting excess and closing cap. Then decide if you want to tighten more.

Semi-permanent and tough to get off
These are effective but I have two complaints: My biggest complaint is that the cords are made of a hard but flexible plastic. The plastic, while effective, makes it impossible to get off the door handles, making these semi-permanent. I ruined a good pair of scissors and gave myself a bad blood blister cutting the ties to fit the cabinet, as the instructions called for. In other words, these are "not good for Grandma's house" as an option. I also have NO idea how to get these things off. I'm going to need to buy special sharp utility scissors that will cut these things off and hopefully I won't damage the cabinet finish or the handles in the process because A LOT of force is needed to break that plastic. I was applying as much force as I could and it was a very violent process. I really wish they were made of a more durable nylon cord like the other Kiscord locks. Instructions are clear but I still tied the cords too tightly to the cabinet doors. That is because I tried to make the locks look just like the photo - BAD IDEA. You do not want the buckles to face you directly - in my opinion, they are tied too tightly that way. You actually want the buckles to fall forward slightly and hang down facing towards the floor, allowing the doors to have a bit of "give" to them, especially if you put these on cabinets that you use frequently. Take the time to read the instructions and resist the urge to tie them too tightly! My recommendation is to put one on a cabinet that you use frequently. Then wait a few days, try it out, see how you like the fit and then attached the other ties. Other than those two complaints, these work a lot better than the cheap plastic slide locks found at the baby store - those ones ruined our cabinet finish because they scraped against the cabinet wood each time they were removed. Once these are on properly and fairly easy to use. I noticed some reviews said that the kids were able to open them - no idea how that was happening because it's still pretty tough to get them open (our seven year old has trouble with them).

Great Idea For A Childproof Lock
I actually had a problem with drawers that my granddaughter liked to open and slam. She would take out all of the silverware and line it up on the floor. I decided to try to find a cabinet lock that would reach between the drawer handles. This product worked very well. The straps are long enough to wrap around the handles and still thread through the slots. The clasp is fairly easy for an adult to squeeze together and release to open the cabinet or drawers, but stiff enough that a child could not work it. The locks are easy enough to install if you read the directions. Just be sure you have the straps facing in the right direction before you tighten and lock them permanently. I found it fairly easy to position it evenly and then pull the straps. They work just like wire ties, then you cut the excess off. It offers a neat appearance and does not damage the handles or cupboards. It is a great product and works really well. Comes with easy to follow directions and an illustration to follow.

Fancy Zip Ties that don't hold up
Since the initial review we've replaced all of these. After very light use our 1 yo could simply pull hard enough to open the cabinet. Their holding power simply didn't hold up after any real use. Initial review: It's not as clear from the photos but these are large zip ties with a clasp on the end. They're easy to install if you have good scissors or angle cutting pliers. You zip tie them onto the handles and clip the excess length off. They come with a cap to cover the cut plastic to avoid exposing sharp edges. What worked well was to install them still clasped, loop one side around one handle and leave it somewhat loose, loop the other side around the other handle loosely and then pull both right together to get an even fit. As zip ties are awesome so are these. Once installed they are on very tight and seem to clasp together strongly. They are also easy to open, pinch the clasp while pulling on one of the doors and you're in. So why four stars? When you go to close the door you just opened you end up having to open both doors a little bit in order to have enough clearance to re-clasp them. It takes a little coordination and thought to do. This is just a part of how this design works. Other designs for similar locks can more easily be secured with the doors both still closed.

KISCORDS baby locks-MUST BUY!
Wow! We love Kiscords! Most baby proof locks aren't very sturdy, but these certainly are! They are by far the best cabinet latches we found and no gluing. Easy to use but definitely baby proof. These are simply perfect for your bathroom vanity, kitchen cabinets, furniture hutches, double door fridge, corner cabinets and even a gate! Anything that has 2 handles next to each other. One of our furniture pieces has knobs instead of handles so we purchased Kiscords cord locks for that. It works as good as this one.
