Buyer beware
Do not buy this printer. It is a terrible printer. From the start we had issues. We got about 5000 good copies off of this and nothing but nightmares since. Getting toner is hard. Getting quality toner is harder. Beware the OEM print cartridges cost close to $500 each. It eats imaging units. If you have to get it serviced good luck. Hardly anyone will work on it you have to learn to do it yourself. Since you didn't buy this from xerox you will get no help from them without purchasing a maintenance package which costs a fortune in itself. The maintenance package doesn't cover most stuff so you end up paying out of pocket. If you are not using it daily good luck. If it isn't used for a while you will have to run at least 100 plus copies through before you get a good one. Let's talk about replacements, fuser $500, Imaging units $150 and up, and filters, waste cartridge and of course belts over the top expensive. You spend a good day a month on maintenance on this nightmare machine. We have it in a controlled environment where the temperature is constant. It makes no difference. I have the technical manual and it is very useless in reality. Even with a passkey good luck tracking down all the errors this machine throws. It will tell you engine failure for any number of reasons. Have any static in your office, good luck with this machine. This is the worse printer I have ever owned and I will never buy a Xerox product again. I am going back to Brother products. This product has caused such disruption in my business that it is easier to close the business than try to explain over and over again about the printer. Thank you, Xerox for such a giant pile of overpriced garbage.

Read the manual - use your brain - you have one I know...
I love the machine. I have had it for a year. It replaced the Xerox 7750 I had for 7 years. Print quality is great, does use a ton of toner. However it does take some experience, intelligence and time to operate these phaser machines. Zerox bought the company many years ago and most lower level support techs are clueless on this series of printers. I have a great in field tech who showed me the ropes and have never looked back. This thing will eat any toner you feed it - not just the over priced xerox ones. Of course my positive experience could be because I have been printing for over 40 years and do all repairs myself whenever possible.

AVOID XEROX!!!! Comparable HP products are a much better bang for your buck!
Biggest waste of money on technology I have ever spent! First off check the prices on the toner cartridges. If you plan on seriously using this printer for color then it is not for you. Each cartridge is at least $400 and refilled/off-brand ones do not work in the printer. Xerox service has been horrible. They are slow to respond and basically are willing to fix issues not diagnose the actual long-term problem. I get MAYBE 1,000 pages from each high-capacity cartridge which is advertised as 17,000 pages. I know that is based on a 5% coverage but still...that is way too low when you are printing lots of flyers. Other than that the machine has had multiple issues. It doesn't take labels very well, the control panel is very basic and constantly screws up paper tray settings. Also the machine puts out a horrendous chemical smell when printing lots of pages and we had to move it into an area without many people. All around an awful machine!

Awesome
This printer is an excellent upgrade from the 7760, the color is accurate and easy to set up. Quiet and fast. So far I don't have anything negative to report. Using this printer for our design studio. We are using the GX version with Phaser Match.

Horrible reliability!
Horrible reliability! We have been struggling with this printer for a year or so.Seemed to work ok for the first few months. Now we have to reboot it multiple times a day.It just quits working with no error code. The led on the control panel turns red and that is all she wrote.Digging in deeper the technician was able to find that it is an Engine Failure. However he has been completely unable to diagnose or fix the problem. He has torn the machine apart and replaced a bunch of stuff but nothing helps.LAst time we were on the phone with Xerox the phone support told us to buy an HP.

Terrible machine... don't purchase... takes forever to print... prints in spurts... stops and starts... a xerox nightmare.

A complete lemon. Avoid at all costs
This didn't work right out of the box, and Xerox refuses to stand by it. Three calls to Xerox tech support has gotten us nowhere, and we had to pay additional for this alleged support! A total disaster. Please, please, please don't make the same mistake.
