Who makes this product? hoping its fieldcrest, whom i bought my other 4" topper. does topper cover have sides that go over mattress to keep in place?

It's made in China. I couldn't find the manufacturer name, but it's distributed by Best Price Mattresses in California. It definitely is 4 inches. Our topper does move around some because our bed is a full size bed, but the topper is heavy enough that it doesn't move a whole lot.

I need to make my bed more firm. Will this work or is this very soft also?

I like a firm bed myself. I put this mattress pad on top of a pop ups plywood slide out and it's soft but comfortable to me. I don't feel the wood underneath and there is also no give in the wood. I don't think I would try it on too of a soft mattress if I wanted firm..

How comfortable is this mattress topper for a side-sleeper?

Very comfortable unless my husband is too close--like the center of a king sized bed--then the mattress is so soft that I roll into him. Fantastic if alone or if he stays on his side of the bed. :)

How firm is the topper?

According to an earlier answer from the seller, it has 3# memory foam and high density around 2#. Topper has 1.5" memory foam on top and 2.5" high density foam on bottom.
