This is a great product. If you wanna make sure your smoke detector works, buy this stuff. Yes, you can push the button.But supposedly this mimics the smoke or something.Because it makes my smoke detectors go off

Just because you press the test button on your smoke alarm, that does not prove that it can detect smoke. It proves that the electronics are working. You need this product to test the smoke sensor and confirm that the detector can detect smoke. This is the safe way to test smoke alarms. Don't try creating real smoke to test alarms; that dangerous. this is how the pros do it.

Works as intended

I needed to test all of our smoke detectors in the house and didn't want to use actual fire and smoke to test each one or use a ladder to press the test button. This can of spray smoke was convenient and worked exactly as desired. The smoke triggered the alarm for about 10 seconds, then the alarm shut off. The smoke doesn't linger or smell bad. It just kind of disappears pretty quickly.
