Resolved my problem. Water pump that I ordered/installed last year came with a bad thermostat. AC Delco box will have a thermostat made by Motorad but without the fail safe feature.Used in a 2005 GM SUV with 6.0l Vortec

Failed after one day
Should've listened to other reviews. Installed and worked fine for a day then promptly started overheating. System was bled correctly and full of coolant. No leaks. Replaced with a different brand and no more issues. Did not fail in the open position as stated.

This pos should not be allowed to sell on amazon. Buy this and your car will overheat, that is the only guarantee you're getting. Forget their fail safe lies, this is absolute trash.
