Perfect Weekend/Beach Read
This is a perfect combination of romance, friendship, travel, and food. It is the fifth book in a series, but would be fine as a stand-alone.The romances are drawn out and it takes a long time to get past the shallow beginnings, but it is quite true to life with the depictions of the types of people we all know. While reading I hated that Maddie was depicted as insecure, overly critical of herself, and lashing out because she was hurt, but only because I saw so much of myself in her.Like all good weekend read everything works out at the end....SPOILER ALERT: even though I felt cheated that we didn't get a scene with Nick and Maddie telling Nina that they were "together."

Lovely Croatia
Like in the others four books, I enjoy the descripcions , reading Julie Chaplin is traveling and living places with si much flavor, I always end looking for some recipe or drinks.Madie is a beautiful Character and the way she keeps trying to trust in kindness makes you pray for a good things come true and also for Nick. Great for a light read on a rainy day!
So I devoured this book in one sitting! Loved the theme, location, and loved the heroine's attitude for life. She had appeared before in the Paris book in this series as a minor character, and I had been hoping that Ms. Caplin would give her a book of her own. She had spunk and charm, and really grew as the book moved along. Loved Nick, and how it all ties together with book three.Ms. Caplin, your books are a fun read on rainy days or during the snowy season where I live. Thanks, and can't wait for the next one!

Romance in Croatia
I have always wanted to go to Croatia, damn this pandemic. I’m not going to be able to travel there for a few years.Love the story, the fact that I knew Maddie (from The Little Paris Patisserie) and Nick is Nina’s brother was a nice cosy plot. It’s been so hectic in 2020 that a romantic novel is the best way to finish the year.Four stars

Love this series!
Yet another love story in yet another wonderful place! Julie Caplin writes with a really individual style ,with just enough detail. Too much sometimes has me skipping lines, and not enough leaves me unsatisfied .. but Ms. Caplin is spot on! I travel through her well paved love stories since I'm sure I'll never visit these exotic locations in person!

Cute Travelogue-type Romance
I’m a sucker for travelogue-type romances and had to read this one since I know very little about Croatia. The plot and characters are both well written, and I enjoyed the read. My only negative comment is that most of the story takes place on a yacht traveling along the Dalmatian Coast, so there’s very little about the country itself except for brief forays in the ports visited. But that takes nothing away from it being a cute, light-hearted romance.

Secret Cove in Croatia
I thought a pretty enjoyable book although the subject matter was marginal. A lot of sex stuff while ok does not make for a great book. I had visited Split and Hvar, the places in the book and made my approach to the book more positive. It is a great place.

It grew on me!
As I started reading, I was not sure if I liked this book but then it started to get interesting and I'm really wanted to know where Nick and Maddie's relationship was going. Loved the end. Dreams really do come true.

A light feel-good romance...
A light feel-good romance with some solid research chops regarding locations and locals. It's very very easy for authors to get this so badly wrong that the book becomes unreadable, however Julie Caplin has done her homework, probably in many instances in person, if not in all instances! This book lets some of the characters she no doubt met in her past PR life shine through. (Tara and Cody).Romance novels aren't my normal reading matter, however this series popped up in my recommendations for some reason, and some literary romantic escapism was just the ticket.I've bought and read the whole series, they're each a quick read, but none the worse for that.Sweet romances, and yes, girl gets boy every time, in the end, but you knew that anyway - it's the getting there that's the fun isn't it?Nicely written, with a good command of English grammar and spelling; just a few proof-reading glitches. If you want something light, enjoyable, that will take you away to the Dalmatian coast whilst dreaming of making changes to the everyday, then this book, and indeed this whole "Romantic Escapes" series by Julie Caplin is recommended.

Wonderful, funny and heartwarming romance - loved it!
Another wonderful romance from Julie Caplin. I read it while I was on holiday in Croatia and it even inspired me to visit a few places while I was there! The descriptions were brilliant, so real and vibrant. The romance and chemistry between Maddie and Nick was fun and believable. I loved the setting and all of the varied characters. A really enjoyable read that was very hard to put down!

Escapist summer romance
Another delightful romance from Julie incorporating travel and food. Although part of a series it does stand in its own. Unemployed Maddie is asked to step in to help crew a privately hired yacht. Apart from the captain she is the only crew but at least it's a small party; city trader Douglas, his model girlfriend, Cory, her friend fellow model, Tara and her latest boyfriend Nick, Douglas's best friend, Simon and his family friend Siri. The format is familiar but Julie's writing style skips and sparkles along as she takes us to the Dalmatian coast.

Escapism at its best
Maddie takes a job as crew on a luxury yacht for a three week cruise around the coast of Croatia. Amongst the guests is Nick, a farmer from the North of England who seems out of place amongst the others. The story concentrates on the growing attraction bergen these two, an enemy to friends type scenario. What I love about this series of romances is the way that the author brings the diverse locations to life, here the sunshine and settings of the Croatian Islands. I have been fortunate enough to visit some of these and this brought my memories back to life. I can definitely recommend this book and the others in the series.

Julie Caplin has done it again.
Always a good story. One of those books you don't want to put down. Love the way Julie Caplin describes the places in the country the story takes you. You can almost imagine you are there...i wish! If you have not visited Croatia , you will want to after reading this book. Just bought the next in series The Little Swiss ski Chalet . I love the way each book has a connection with the next book. Definitely recommend this book and the series...
