I have lower back pain due to herniated and ruptured discs. The Sleepava cushion does a good job of allowing longer sitting times and being able to rise with reduced pain. For its price point it is a fantastic cushion. I am 6' 2" and weigh 230 lbs. Do I expect it to compress after sitting for an hour? Of course! But it only cost a small amount in comparison to its help. Do I expect it to be the most comfortable cushion the world has known? No. But it is helping with my lower back and that overrides a very small discomfort. (It only cost a small amount) Did I expect it to raise my sitting position in my truck? IT's a cushion! But I can stay in the truck longer because of less pain! (It only costs a small amount) The end result could be you get what you paid for. That is true. However, I believe I got more than I paid for. The reduced pain in my lower back is WORTH A LOT! (It only cost a small amount) I highly recommend this product. I will be purchasing another one.

I needed a cushion to relieve soreness from long hours sitting at the sewing machine (home sewing business). This cushion was the answer! It is a joy to use! I used to dread sitting in my chair, knowing I would wiggle around in pain after a while. I had even bought an expensive, fancy, office chair on wheels. Just didn't have the right support. Now I actually look forward to sitting on the cushion! The shape and design relieved the pressure from all the sore places and has helped with the sciatica/numbness that went shooting down my legs before. I've been using it for about a week now and it has held its shape perfectly. There was no strong odor when I first opened it. The gel inside really is noticably "cooling". The cushion is quite thick which raised me up when I sat on it so I had to lower my office-type chair down a little to be sitting at the same level. Keep this in mind if the height of your seat/chair doesn't adjust. It has a handle on the side to carry it around but the handle isn't made from very sturdy material so it stretches and seems like it would rip easily if actually carried by the handle, since the cushion has some weight to it. The handle also has a snap in the middle so you could snap it onto the handle of a rolling suitcase if you were going to use it for travel (which I may do in a few months - long bus ride with my daughter's orchestra). Overall I'm very happy with it! I just may buy a second one so I don't have to move it from chair to chair in my sewing room.

I waited a while after receiving this product to give it a review, as I wanted to see how it played out and not just jump to review. Let's go over the Pros and Cons: Pros -Comfortable for the most part -Stays cool; I don't really sweat while sitting on it -Doesnt' shift around; stays in place -I have felt some relief from using it for a few weeks, so it does give great support -Sturdy; I feel it will last quite a while Cons -Size!!! This is the BIGGEST issue with this product. It is advertised as being a seat cushion that you can use for long desk periods but I have tried it on 3 different chairs and it fit none of them perfectly. If you don't sit EXACTLY in the center of it, you will find your butt or legs awkwardly hanging off the side and, since this cushion is VERY high, it feels weird. It is more the style to fit a barstool than a computer chair so it was kind of disappointing. I have to use another pillow behind it so I don't have a weird gap between my back and the chair back. -VERY FLIMSY COVER THAT IS WAY TOO TIGHT - Pray to the gods you never have an accident where you have to wash the cover. My cat spilled something on it so I had to get the cover off...which is a freaking nightmare. It is SO tight that I was amazed I got it off at all without ripping it. Then, I went to put it back on after cleaning and the cushion just does not fit; you have to really bend and crush the cushion while trying ever so carefully not to stretch the narrow zipper opening too much...which is apparently impossible. Not only did the cover rip, but the zipper itself came off in my hand! I now have a broken product that I hope I never have to wash again, or Ill have to put it in a pillow case or something. This was VERY disappointing. Overall, I don't regret buying it but I may look to replace it with another at some point after my experience and the overall size.

At the time of this review, I have had this cushion only 3 days. I rarely review products this early, but I feel it's important to share my thoughts on this cushion now. I have PCOS, and due to a recent injury I've been more sedentary than usual. Unfortunately, in an older chair with the cushion greatly degraded, that has led up to some really bad tailbone pain. In the past I've avoided buying coccyx pillows because they were expensive and often did not last long - not worth my money. But I've been in enough pain that I needed to do something, and spotted this great looking product (and value). After two months of increasingly bad tail bone pain - my life with this cushion so far has been like this: Day one: lessened pain, still quite present. Day two: far lessened pain, about half as present as it was. Day three: very little pain, about 1/4 as frequent as it was. I'm three days in, and having remarkable recovery, way beyond my expectations. As for the product itself? It seems of incredibly good quality. It holds its shape after hours of use. The cover (removable + washable!) doesn't dig or scratch or scrape. The zipper for the cover is out of the way. The cushion stays mostly secure in the chair with minimal slippage (most of which is caused by me getting in and out of the chair, not sitting in it). The height isn't disorienting. For the most part, I have not noticed the cooling gel, but the cushion also never feels hot, sticky, or sweaty. The main thing I'd want out of this cushion is for it to be a bit larger - particularly length wise. My hips are settled on it just fine, but I'd like the cushion to go out along my thighs a little further. Instead, I have a few inches of chair mesh my legs are on. And if all of that doesn't sell you - this cushion comes from a small business, not a megacorp. I even had a hand written note with a number I could call or text if I had issues. Incredibly satisfied, and now I just hope that this cushion lasts for a substantial amount of time! :)

Comfortable, cool, and it helps relieve any lower back pain 💯👍 This was the 3rd different cushion I tried and this one is by far the best!! I was having severe issues with my back mixed in with some sciatica issues and this helped me within 48-72 hours. I dealt with it for 3-4 weeks before finding this! Heck of a value too, mine came with a coupon at checkout. I recommend this to anyone looking for some kind of back relief 💯😎

if this were firmer it would be ideal however, it would then lose its benefit of sacrum relief. I don’t use it, as I probably weigh more than it is suppose to support as well. 6’ tall, and 250 lbs. It sits on the floor, and I will probably give it away, as it is too cumbersome to return. It is a well made product, just not what I need for my size. I will be looking for a foam cushion that will support my body, and give me what I need for my lower spine. I need one like PT used. It assisted me not only in improving my seated position, also, when I stood up, there was less strain on my lower back, or legs. Nothing wrong with the comfort, price, delivery, or any issue. Recently, I began working from home 11½ hours a day and decided to rearrange my home office desk configuration to better adhere to my company's ergonomic requirements.. This resulted in my need to raise my seat 2”-2½” higher for better positioning at my desk. While I have an excellent chair with good quality memory foam, it does not raise high enough. Also, I consistently experience pain in my coccyx upon standing. So I decided to purchase a chair cushion that advertised it contained “Premium Memory Foam and Heat Responsive Technology.” After using it a couple days, I did not feel any relief, yet I was determined to find another brand that would work for me. I came across the Plixio model and, I guess, because it stated that it contained not only memory foam but also a cooling gel, I thought I would give it a shot. After using it for two days, a light bulb went off in my head when I realized that every time I stood up from my chair, I did not have the pain emanating from my coccyx as I experienced with my prior purchase as well as with the chair’s own memory foam seat. Elated is too subtle a word to describe how I feel about this product. To be honest, I couldn't tell the difference between memory foam and cooling gel if it hit me over the head. But I can emphatically say that after sitting for a couple hours on the cushion, then standing up, I no longer have pain in my lower back and coccyx. It sounds made up, but it's not. I am thrilled and cannot believe it took me over 40 years of pain to try such a product. I give this cushion a ringing endorsement. If you're looking for lower back/coccyx area pain relief, give this product a try. And in an act of engineering genius, the cutout in the rear of the seat affords the additional feature of acting as a pathway for farts.

Background: I sit at a desk 40 hours or more a week. I am 5'5" and weigh roughly 105 lbs. I am in my late 20s and don't actively exercise... awful, I know. Anyway, initially, I felt like this cushion wasn't helping with my (diagnosed) sciatica pain. I thought maybe I didn't weigh enough to feel the benefits of this cushion. For the first 2 weeks, my pain almost felt worse! It was painful to sit for long periods of time. I'll have to try another cushion, I thought. Without even realizing it or thinking about it, my pain began going away! Like a true friggin' miracle. I'd had sciatica for almost 2 years and waited so long to try out a cushion. None of my life choices have changed in the process, btw. I'm not more or less active, and my diet is still roughly the same. This cushion is life changing for me. I don't feel ANY pain anymore. I can sit for long periods of time now and not feel uncomfortable throughout my work day.

Thanks for the note enclosed from Mark. This product has helped my back a lot whilst continuing to work from home. I may even buy another one for the office when I get back there!

Was a bit sceptical of the claims of helping back pain but have been using the cushion for a week now and my back and hips are less sore from sitting down. Worth a try if you have suffer from back pain and tight hips while sitting.

I received my new SLEEPAVO seat cushion yesterday, Friday April 5, 2024. I will of course enter a follow-up review in 6 months. It is a pleasure to sit on a firm, posture friendly seat surface. Two years ago I fractured my T11 vertebrae. Twenty plus years ago I ruptured my L 5 S1 disc. I'm now seventy-four years old and appreciating this quality seat cushions comfort. Thank you SLEEPAVO.
