They do a good job at holding my relatively heavy HDMI cables in place.
I have had nothing but problems with loose connectors since upgrading to HDMI, and I highly recommend using Blue Echo Solutions hd EZ lock Universal Locking HDMI Cable Adapters. They work best on A/V components which have a screw above or below the HDMI connector and do a good job at holding my relatively heavy/stiff (DH Labs) HDMI cables in place. (Without the hd EZ lock the cables would eventually pull loose simply under their own weight).Installation is fairly straight forward, and most importantly is also completely reversible. I have only used the screw installation method, which means removing the existing M3 screw from your A/V components. I have not used the adhesive method and have no need too.The two main parts of the hd EZ lock are the mounting adapter and the main body. Both are made from black injection molded nylon and won't scratch your equipment or damage your HDMI connectors. The other components are the metal screws. The mounting adapter is installed onto your A/V component using the new M3 screw. The main body slides over the HDMI connector and should fit HDMI connectors up to 7/16" high and 7/8" wide. It clips into the mounting adapter and has a brass threaded insert for the screw which clamps down on the HDMI connector. This screw does not make direct contact with the HDMI connector itself, so it doesn't leave any marks on it. There are two of these small 6/32" screws supplied per hd EZ lock, a longer (3/8") screw for HDMI connectors up to 5/16" high, and a shorter (1/4") screw for those 5/16" and higher. Both the 6/32" screw and the M3 one are installed and adjusted using the supplied hex keys.I now happily have the locks installed on my receiver, Blu-ray player, and DirecTV DVR.

Very useful
This really works well to hold the cable to the back of my receiver. Before using this it would come loose at the slightest move. Great product.

Try Them First
I ordered this lock but never used it as my TV issues extended beyond the HDMI input. I attempted to return it outside the Amazon 30 day window , but to no avail. BLUE ECHO refunded my money. With Amazon. you never really get to talk to a real person. Suggest you learn from my mistake: #1: When in doubt with a product, "return". Never let that window expire. #2: The company you are buying from is just as important as the product you are buying. #3: Looking at the EZ Lock design, it should hold the cable in place and for certain, they will stand behind their product.

Don't waste your money
Don't waste your money. I bought two sets of these so that I could mount all 4 of my hdmi cables. First I will say that on a 65" LG tv you can only fit two of these devices side by side. When you try to add a third you quickly find out that it will cover part of the hdmi port. Second the very high bond adhesive is simple double sided tape and is not high bond at all. I cleaned the tv and the ez lock with the provided pad, let both dry, attached the ez lock to the tv with the tape, waited a little bit, installed the cable, and wala the weight of the cable causes the very high bond adhesive to let go. Also if your hdmi ports are vertical instead of horizontal do not buy these. These lock allow for the cable to pivot from side to side. They do not lock the cable on all ages. They may work ok for a horizontal mount, but not vertical.

Best Available Alternative
Like others, the HDMI connections to my AVR, STB, and TV are not the greatest. I tried swapping cables, hoping that a different HDMI cable would have a stronger grip but that was not to be. So, I did my research and determined that there are limited solutions available and that these EZ Locks appear to be the best option. I attached them using the 3M double sided tape. The screw option di not work for the HDMI cable to the TV or the STB. Given that I would have to pull my AVR our of the shelf to use the screw option, I determined that was too labor intensive and used the 3M double sided tape on the EZ Locks there as well ( STB to AVR and then AVR to TV). Not too tough to install. The grip is adequate a definite improvement in terms of stopping the loose fitting HDMI cables (clearly not as good as the screw method). Again, I am happy with the result. So, I have no trouble recommending the EZ Locks.

works very well!
Well thought out. It's a great way to save your expensive HDMI device from stress. Before I bought them I killed my HDMI output on my field monitor because of pulling stress.I shorted out the HDMI on a very expensive 7" field monitor for my Canon 5D.After I fixed the monitor (replaced the HDMI circuit board on the monitor) I found the EZ locks and I mounted it to a 90° male/female adapter with the adhesive tape (no screw by the HDMI outlet) and now have a solid connection.I just wish they would make a lock for the camera's mini HDMI side!I mounted another to the TV's 3rd HDMI for my camera/computer viewing because that cord gets pulled around a lot too

Lock only somewhat secure....
Yes, this HDMI lock is much better than nothing. It doesn't, however, lock the cable along the axis in which it is most likely to become loose. In my case, the heavy HDMI cable wants to pull OUT of the input and needs to be held just so to make the right contact. This lock is best at locking the cable in the vertical axis, which only helps me somewhat. The lock is also way overpriced, but you do get two per package. Anyone want to buy a single lock...?
