Better-than-expected way to solve the problem of short doors
I genuinely hate it when home interior doors are cut too short. Especially when paired with hardwood floors. Even a minor gap under a door allows sound to bounce around - not to mention light, wind, dust, and bugs. Sound is one of my biggest problems - because I genuinely believe that when you shut a door, you don't want to be able to hear what is on the other side. Years ago I started to experiment with using "door feet" mainly meant for outside-facing doors inside. These tended to require removing a door first, or more complex construction. They usually added a strip of metal and rubber to the bottom of a door, effectively creating a flexible seal. This product is like a more basic version of a door foot/cap, but it works by sticking a silicone strip to one side of the door. You might call it a door skirt or similar. The silicone is thick and spreads out into three strips closer to where it is designed to brush against the floor. Even though visually the design seemed perfect to me, I was highly skeptical of how well this product would actually stick and remain stuck to a door. The company even includes metal pin tacks which can be used to make the door skirt more permanently affixed - but with damage to your door. I've thus far installed about seven of these products both in this brown color and in white. To my surprise, the adhesive has remained intact. This is despite the fact that I used them on doors which move over carpeting. That means the carpet pulls on the silicone strip as it moves in both directions - creating more pull on the glue. I'm guessing I will have to replace the each few years - which seems like a small price to pay given how inexpensive they are, as well as easy they are to install. Installation requires a knife because you'll need to first place the fill strip along the door, and then cut it to size. This isn't hard, but requires steady hands a bit of patience to get right. Adhesive products such as this also require that you physically press the glued-on item to the based for a number of seconds to ensure a decent still. With that said, I can't see a skilled person taking more than 5-10 minutes to install one of these. While it isn't always possible to cover each and every little gap under a door, this product will probably seal up at least 98% of any gaps between a door and a floor that you are interesting in closing. I've even used one of these strips to close some small gaps that ants were using to enter my home under a door that opens to a patio. If your goal is to easily and effectively shut out sound and the elements under most home doors, this product seems to work pretty well, and blends in nicely enough so it isn't much of an eyesore. Not hard to recommend this.

Great Product Especially For Older Homes
I am incredibly surprised at how well this product works. I installed it yesterday on my front door and this morning I could walk across my living room floor barefoot without freezing my toes off. I have an insulating strip on the inside of that door - one of those aluminum tracks with the vinyl sweep, but it was never installed correctly and has some small areas where it doesn't meet the floor, so I put the new one on the outside of the door. The installation was a piece of cake, although the primer did smell for about 30 minutes. Not a big deal. Because it's flexible, I could make it fit correctly even where the aging door met the worn down door sill on this old house. And true to it's claims, it DOES help with noise reduction. The instructions were a little scant, but the installation was pretty intuitive so that wasn't a big deal. The hardest part was getting the protective strip off of the glue strip, and that wasn't really that difficult. And they also included little button nails that can be hammered into the glued area for extra support if needed. I am truly impressed - a product that does what it says it will do, that's easy to install with minimal work and only needing a pair of scissors and maybe a hair blower to help set the glue, and sold for a friendly price. I have to set up a sound room for podcasting and voiceover work and I'll be ordering another one of these for the bottom of that interior door - something I hadn't even thought about until the street noise became muted after I installed this one. Great product, highly recommend it.

Simple Solution That Makes a Huge Difference!
The Suptikes Door Draft Stopper has been an incredibly effective and affordable solution for eliminating drafts and improving energy efficiency in our home! As homeowners dealing with noticeable cold drafts under several exterior doors, this simple door sweep installation has made a remarkable difference in comfort while reducing our heating costs. The installation process was surprisingly easy and required no special tools or expertise. The adhesive backing creates a secure seal against the door bottom, and the flexible strip conforms perfectly to slight irregularities in our threshold and flooring. Within minutes, I had eliminated drafts that had been bothering us for years. What impressed me most is how effectively this inexpensive strip blocks air infiltration. The difference was immediately noticeable - cold drafts that used to make sitting near our front door uncomfortable have been completely eliminated. Our entryway stays warmer, and we're no longer constantly adjusting the thermostat to compensate for heat loss. The energy savings have been measurable on our heating bills. By sealing gaps under doors that were allowing conditioned air to escape and outside air to enter, our heating system runs more efficiently and maintains comfortable temperatures with less effort. The return on investment for this simple upgrade has been excellent. The flexible design works perfectly with doors that open and close frequently without interfering with operation. The strip compresses when the door closes to create an effective seal, then flexes out of the way during opening without catching or binding. This balance between sealing effectiveness and operational smoothness is exactly what's needed. The durability has exceeded expectations despite constant foot traffic and door operation. After eight months of use on our heavily-used front door, the strip remains securely attached and maintains its sealing effectiveness without any signs of wear or deterioration. The materials appear designed for long-term performance. The versatility extends beyond just exterior doors - I've also used these strips on interior doors to reduce noise transmission between rooms and improve privacy. They work equally well for sound dampening as they do for draft elimination, making them useful throughout the house. The low-profile design is virtually invisible once installed and doesn't detract from door appearance or create any aesthetic issues. Guests don't notice the strips, but they definitely notice how comfortable our home feels without drafts. For homeowners seeking an immediate, affordable solution to door drafts and energy loss, this door sweep delivers professional-quality results that improve comfort and reduce energy costs with minimal investment and effort.

But is it worth it
This is a common hardware store item that is claimed to be improved. I needed a draft stopper to fill the gap under my exterior storm door and chose this one because of their advertised claims. Let’s see how meaningful those claims are. FIRST IMPRESSION Usually when I buy door insulation it’s sold in flat form, in other words not rolled up. Buying anything that’s rolled up is usually a bad idea because its hard to work with and it wants to snap back to a coiled shape after installation. The problem is magnified with products like this that have a press to stick adhesive backing - the backing strip almost always separates leaving the sticky part exposed to dry up. I’m not pleased that this strip was sent tightly rolled up, it’s short enough that it could have been sent flat. DRAFT STOPPER VS INSULATION To me there is a difference between a draft stopper strip and door insulation. The job of insulation is obvious, this stuff is more intended to simply fill in the gap between the bottom of a door and the floor to do as they say, to reduce drafts. It can also help to reduce noise, help keep creepy-crawlies from entering and in the process help to insulate. Any product with a press to stick backing isn’t going to be as good as insulation that is permanently attached with nails or other fasteners if your goal is a tight insulated seal. IS IT DIFFERENT The ads make use of extreme closeup photos to make the product look bigger than it is, the real thing is far less impressive. Their claims of using a triple channel don’t seem to make much of a difference and their specific claim about not having a place for insects to burrow and nest don’t seem to be true at all - the channel holes are still open at the ends, somehow I expected them to be capped. It’s concerning that they promise that this product is soundproof, that is a very strong claim and of course untrue. It may help reduce sounds that come through the gap under your door but in no way will it (or can it) soundproof your door. On the plus side it is available in four colors to match your door and décor, something not always the case with door insulators. THE BOTTOM LINE This product isn’t bad but it wasn’t that much different than what I could get at my local store. The day I bought it the item was on sale but at its regular price I would have passed, it’s priced too high for a piece of plastic. Other than that I have no reason to recommend against it but neither do I have reason to say this is the best choice out there.

Excellent product that’s easy to install
I’m renting an apartment and my front door doesn’t brush up against the floor. There was about an inch gap which was annoying because it meant light, noise, and bugs could get in. Ever since I’ve installed this, I’ve had almost no pbugs, no light, and so much less sound! It’s great. The sound blocking is especially amazing because my bedroom is near the front door and I hated hearing my neighbors conversations clear as day in the stairwell. It’s not totally noise cancelling but it’s so much better. I have this placed so it meets the doorstop and clears the rug in my entryway. It was easy to install - just needed scissors to cut it down to size. Then I wiped the area to clean it, waiting for it to dry, and stuck it on. It practically matches the color of the door so it doesn’t stand out at all. I’m very happy with this product! It’s been on for a little over a month and I’ve had no issues. It’s been stuck where I placed it. Highly recommend this product, especially if you’re a renter and don’t want to have to drill into doors (other solutions I saw online involved drilling into the door).

I can provide a comparison between Suptikes Door Draft Stopper and a competitive brand, based on customer reviews and product specifications. For this comparison, I will use the "MAXTID Under Door Draft Stopper" as the competitive brand. 1. Material and Durability: Suptikes Door Draft Stopper is made of high-quality silicone material which is durable and long-lasting. MAXTID Under Door Draft Stopper is made of synthetic fiber which is less durable and may not last as long as silicone. 2. Design: Suptikes Door Draft Stopper is designed with three layers of silicone, which makes it more effective in preventing drafts and noise. The triple-layer design also helps to keep out insects and dust. MAXTID Under Door Draft Stopper has a single layer of synthetic fiber which may not be as effective in preventing drafts and noise. 3. Size: Suptikes Door Draft Stopper comes in a standard size of 2 inches in width and 39 inches in length, which can be easily trimmed to fit any door. MAXTID Under Door Draft Stopper comes in a similar size of 2 inches in width and 36 inches in length. 4. Ease of Installation: Both Suptikes and MAXTID are easy to install and require no tools. They can be simply placed under the door, and the weight of the door will keep them in place. 5. Customer Reviews: Suptikes Door Draft Stopper has received high ratings and positive reviews from customers, with many commenting on its effectiveness in reducing drafts and noise. MAXTID Under Door Draft Stopper has also received positive reviews, but some customers have mentioned that it may not be as effective in preventing drafts as Suptikes. In summary, Suptikes Door Draft Stopper appears to be a better option than MAXTID Under Door Draft Stopper in terms of material and durability, design, and customer reviews.
