Good for the price.
I had to change from rapid fire shifters due to arthritis in my thumbs. So I went with the SRAM Attack because they are the only ones that fit my 9 speed shimano set. Well, after the first use I knew I would like them. They are not as smooth as the other SRAM grip shifters and they don't have spring assist but they work just fine. Actually I like them better than the rapid fire now. Well worth the money.

Sram Attack Grip Shifters Really Do Rock
My wife and I have been using trigger shifters for over 15 years on our mountain bikes. My wife damaged her right thumb earlier this pass summer and could no longer use the trigger shifters. Soooo, I did a little research and found that grip shifters might be a solution. I also found a bike at a local bike shop with the grip shifters and she rode it and could shift without having any pain in her hand. The new Sram Attack grip shifters I installed on her mountain bike are really responsive and my wife thinks they are actually better than trigger shifters for accuracy of shifting. In short, she loves them. I've since installed them on my mountain bike and on both our flat bar road bikes and they are absolutely great. I'm planning to build a couple of flat bar touring bikes this coming spring and they will also be fitted with Sram grip shifters. Note: the Attack grip shifters are for use on Shimano rear derailleurs with 2 to 1 shifting ratio. If you are running a Sram rear derailleur, you will need to order theSram grip shift versions with 1 to 1 ratio. Your local bike shop will be able to help you with the proper selection.

Did not like it!
A question of preference. I installed this on my Shimano drivetrain mtb and uninstalled it after 2 weeks tryout. Not for me. I also purchased an SRAM version for my other bike and it's in the box somewhere in my garage. Trigger shifters is where I'm at!

grip shifters
My new bike came with Shimano trigger shifters. I personally prefer the grip shifters. I was hesitant about converting since the SRAM system is quite different from the Shimano set up. It would have been very expensive to swap out the whole drivetrain, and my rear is Deore XTR, so to find these Shimano compatible shifters was fantastic. It was easy to change the shifters and they work great. Set up was easy, and I added some bar ends made for grip shifters. Best move I could have made.

Works great but not pretty.
Used these on an old Schwinn Homegrown. To bring it back to life. I was a Sachs quartz user from back in the ninety's. I like these more. They don't shift when you pull up on the bars like the old grip shifts or the Sachs. They seem to match up to the Shimano stuff better than the sachs did. Down side is they aren't pretty.

THESE SHOULD BE INDUSTRY STANDARD!!!!!!
I have gone through 2 sets of shimano LX trigger shifters just from hanging tree branches ripping them. I don't catch anything with these grip shifters, yet I crashed in a rock garden in the New Mexico Rockies and smashed the handle bars dead on in the rock. I popped out the clear plastic that covers the red gear indicator, but the shifters still don't miss a beat. This would never be the case with trigger shifters which would need re-calibration.Also, the grip shifters are more accurate, faster to shift, and you can shift the whole gear range in 1 second vs. pumping the trigger shifters 2 times to get through the range in 5-8 seconds, depending on if they catch. If you have arthritis like me, or you have had a hand injury, trigger shifters are no longer viable, but the twist shift is easy as pie. These twist shifters are a hidden gem. I cannot understand why this design is not industry standard. They are far superior to trigger shifters
