how does this sub differ from the psw10? all the specs seem the same to me

I wondered about the differences also. They are the same. I have 2 of each. One has a black face and one has a silver face. I had an amp go out on a psw10 and Polk sent me an amp that said PSW108 and I called and asked about it and they said it was the same amp. The overall size of the subs is the exact same too. I have had the drivers out of both models and they appear to be identical. The internal baffles of the box and the ports are also identical. The PSW108 seems to be a newer model and it would seem that Polk probably used slightly different testing parameters to get specs that were slightly different so they could charge more for essentially the same product. Having said that when they are on sale for around $100 or less they are a pretty good sub for the money...more so for music but they still do ok for movies.

This may be a very stupid question but can I connect passive speakers to the line outs while using the rca as an input ? Thanks .

Hello, There are no stupid questions. The internal amplifier will only power the subwoofer not any external speakers.

Is this sub capable of a single rca connector? Or only a right/left cable

Hello, yes, when connecting a single cable (LFE), make the connection to the Line level LT input. Y splitters may also be used.

Whats the best replacement sub for this box ,because the factory sub sucks with medium volume and low frequencies ?

Anything with more juice. Not sure I would buy Polk again since this is the second one that hasn't worked as well as advertised and as well as it should.
