May as well buy Complete Krav Maga instead
Decent book, however you get the same plus more out of Complete Krav Maga. As I said in that review, there's no sub for training in a decent school under a decent instructor but this book can assist. Training with any book by itself is selling yourself way short and you'll be extremely limited and if you have zero experience you may not even know if your technique is correct. I used these books to see if this is something I would be interested in and I have since started training and I love it and these books have helped me train, when a technique is introduced in class I have already familiarized myself with it via these books. I should not that I don't train in a Krav Maga Worldwide facility but this book is basically identical to the association I am training under, so far. Krav Maga alongside BJJ and combat hapkido seems like a pretty good mix (IMO) and I am definitely hooked on all three. I'm not looking to fight professionally, just want to learn to fight if I ever need to and now I am on my way plus i'm in amazing shape.

Detailed explanations, good photos
Introductory material was very complete almost to the point of being tedious. I learned a lot, especially about the defenses that had not been clear to me before. However, I do wish the material was ordered or at least labeled by belt level since I am going for a belt certification soon. That said, the progression is very logical and each move is thoroughly documented. I like the part that discusses women's self-defense, too. I wish there was a bit more detailed table of contents so I could jump (Kindle version) to any defense by name. This is a good book and well worth the $10 I paid.

Edited 8/28/13- kindle edition now works
original review-probably a good book in paperback format, but very hard to get much out of it without half of the pictures showing up. very disappointingedited review 8/28/13- kindle pictures now work- I don't know what the deal is, but after trying to view the kindle edition 6 months after i bought it it now works perfectly. kindle update? my own incompetency? we will never know.Review of the book:- i would get the complete krav maga paperback book instead. It has everything in this book plus much more. you don't gain anything by getting this book first. That's why it only gets 3 stars.-goes over the mindset, background, etc of krav. goes through basic stuff. this is the sort of things you should know by the time you are level 2.

Krav Mag for Beginners
A "Must Read" for beginners and a good review for others. A very good prequel to the "Complete Krav Maga" book, which I started reading before I read this one. However, now that I've begun my Krav Maga training, I find that this book helps reinforce what I'm learning in class and gives me an even better understanding of "why" we do things not just "how" to do them, which is a big improvement over my previous martial arts training experience (by the way, Krav Maga is NOT a martial art, it's a fighting system) because, in addition to being easier to learn than most traditional martial arts, the movements are more natural and instinctive. Buy this book and "Complete Krav Maga" but, most importantly, find a qualified Krav Maga Instructor and/or Krav Maga class in your own area and start learning this fascinating fighting system.

Grateful for this
Great pics and step by step. Highly recommend. Especially if your small and frail and don't want to get punched out in class. Get a partner and when you get it down practice on random people that you know who will let you attack them who are big and stubborn.

Krav Maga for Beginners
Very good intro to Krav Maga. I bought this book not so much for the basics of the system (pretty much like any other martial arts book) but for the background information and system principles.

Okay, but repititive materials from previously published books by same author
Gives an okay explanation but should have been incorporated in previous books by author, therefore, it is a bit repetitive of other materials. Not sure why this was published if previous book I ordered claimed to be complete.

Great Instructional book
This book goes hand in hand with the Krav school which i am currently attending. Very accurate.

Rubbish
This book is a complete rip off. If you buy the other book by these people “Complete Krav Maga: The Ultimate...” then you will notice that allot of the pictures and text are the same. In the beginners book it just has fewer moves. I feel it is a bit of a cheek and dishonest to that. Just buy the other book.

Disappointed
Repetitive (most of the book is copy pasted), the instructions don't align with the diagrams and the whole first third of the book is warm ups. Spelling errors. Disappointed, don't feel I learned much from reading.

Overly simple
Skip this one and buy the one called complete guide.
