5 Stars for Class Comics! For Amazon... Not So Much...
This is a tricky review as there are two different things to discuss... the comic itself (art, story, etc) and the handling of the physical product. I'm going to start with the good...The art and story is fantastic. The art is everything you've come to expect from the Zahn series and from Class Comics in general. Hot sexy guys with huge... muscles. Strong, vibrant colors. Not as many sex scenes, but it seems there's more focus on story (and I, for one, actually DO read these comics for the stories). The ending of this comic, without revealing spoilers, did not sit well with me... but frankly, that's a good thing. I found myself rooting for Zahn and the main characters and what kind of a story would you have if these characters weren't properly threatened. In other words... I'm not happy with the cliff-hanger of this comic, but I can't wait to see how it's resolved! Now for the bad, and none of this can I blame Class Comics for. I don't know who handles the merchandise for Amazon... but it's clearly somebody who doesn't care a bit for comic books! The comic was stuffed into a box (with another purchase) that was ever so slightly too small. This created a slight bend in the comic and a few creases along the spine. But the biggest offense to this comic book aficionado is the application of a sticker across part of the back cover! I had to carefully peel this sticker off, fearful of ripping the back cover. I got it off, but now there is a tacky square of residual glue that will surely erode the condition of the comic book over time. The _handling_ of the comic by Amazon was horrid!I have learned my lesson... from now on, I order directly from Class Comics.

Zahn gets used, abused and reborn
It's been interesting to watch gay comic's sexiest barbarian go from a dominant character into a more submissive one in bed. In fact, Zahn gets used & abused over and over in Book Three, and he doesn't seem to mind too much. Surrounded by strangers in a strange land who seem to know him as someone else, the story jumps back & forth as Zahn hunts down Caldron's murderer, the traitorous Jonah; then Zahn discovers he has a twin brother. Duplicity & deception reign as poor Zahn doesn't seem to know who's his friend and who's his enemy anymore as their roles change throughout the three books. The scene where Zahn is "purged" of the Blue Genie's influence is wickedly wild stuff. The Zahn who emerges from this ritual seems to have brought the character full circle. Can't wait for Book Four!
