Mane 'n Tail Hoofmaker Hand & Nail Therapy Lotion 6 Ounce Tube

NEVER IN MY LIFE HAVE I USED A NAIL STRENGHTENING PRODUCT SO EFFECTIVE AND EFFICIENT. No, seriously. My nails have always been weak and paper thin. They tear all the time. I have used several nail strengthening nail polishes that don't really work. Those would only make your nails as strong as the polish holding them secure. But not this. NOT THIS! THIS STUFF MADE A NOTICEABLE DIFFERENCE BY THE NEXT DAY! THE. NEXT. DAY. I just rub it directly on to my nails. No polish needed. Did I mention I actually have to trim my nails with a nail clipper now? Cause that's how little they break. And it's cheap too! Compared to other "nail strenghtening" products this lotion costs next to nothing. I can not stop talking about it to people about how good it is. Even if your nails aren't weak like mine are, the lotion itself is pretty nice too. It smells pleasant and dries super fast and clean. Not greasy at all. I use it at work. Anyway, if you came across this product and are thrown off because it's called the "hoofmaker," I don't blame you. It's a terrible name. But trust me: you need this horse lotion in your life. You will not regret it.

This is by far the best lotion I have ever used on my hands. Its heals dry skin and leaves hands feeling soft, nails long and healthy and after using it daily for a week, you will see immediate results. It absorbs into your skin fairly quickly so that you can go about your day and do whatever you were doing without stuff sticking to lotiony hands. It also has a nice sense that isn't too strong or overpowering like a lot of other lotions I have used. One thing I've noticed about other hand repair lotion, is how it feels after you apply it and everything sticks to it. Will this lotion is not like that and that is my favorite part about it. You don't have to wash it off just to do something like right on a piece of paper or touch your phone. I've never had a hand and nail repair lotion that could do that while delivering the same results.

I first encountered Hoofmaker as a kid in a farm and ranch store. I was with a family friend who had a small farm and she was buyinghbuyingh a large container of it. I asked if their one horse needed that much and she laughed. She said she and her husband used more than the horse did. She told me how it made nails healthier-and hoofs- and that it really protected your sjun on hands and feet. I got a small tube asnd have used it ever since. When my husband and I had a darkroom, it protected our hands from harsh chemicals andf was not greasy. When I worked in clinics and hospitals for decades, nothing was better for helping with the effects of very frequent hand washing. Later, when I taught clinical skills, I introduced it to my students. Many other instructors began to use it as well. Chapped or cracked hands are riskier for spreading infection so this stuff is terrific to keep the skin intact and hydrated. Stronger nails are a bonus. A few years ago I needed to take an estrogen blocker after surgery for very early breast cancer. While not common, I had thinning hair and fragile nails while on this medication. Hoofmaker was very helpful in healing my nails. I consider covering my head in it but decided that was too much. Like another reviewer, I would prefer unscented, but the scent is quite mild and does not trigger my sensitivity to perfumes. I highly recommend thisd product for two footed and four footed folk.

I have always had long, strong nails. That is, until I had my daughter, then, as often happens to women postpartum, my glorious nails became brittle and flimsy. I don't feel right without my nails, it's like having my fingertips cut off since I feel with them also. So I was seeking a product that would make my hands nice and soft while giving my nails the boost they needed. I was already using the Mane n Tail shampoo and conditioner, so I knew their products were good. I ordered this and as soon as it arrived, I opened a tube and tried it out. It smells just like the shampoo, so it's a clean scent that doesn't overpower or clash with other scents, so if you wear perfume or industry, this really isn't going to affect it, which is a good thing. The first application made my hands feel silky smooth, the cream isn't super thick and rubs in nicely. A little goes a long way too, which means this set will last me for a while. As far as nail strengthening, it does make them noticeably stronger, but I don't know if that's due entirely to this product or that I take a daily hair skin and nails vitamin. Though I suspect that most of the strengthening is because of Hoofmaker since I've been taking that vitamin since December of last year and it hasn't done much in the way of helping my nails. To give you an idea of how strong my nails have become with the twice daily use of Hoofmaker, they feel like acrylic nails. And my hands look gorgeous and feel gorgeous too. I am reluctant to paint my nails or toenails, for that matter (I use this on my feet too), because the nails are so pretty. My husband likes it too, he used it on his sunburn and the burning went away. So, this is a great product and I am making this my go to lotion. Five stars!!!

The product itself is great, but this bottle is very messy to use. The lotion gets everywhere under the cap and dries out. After you apply it to your hands it is hard to close the bottle or get more without making a mess. I would only recommend this if you are testing the Hoofmaker out, but if you like it get a pump bottle instead. I use this to control cracking and bleeding on my knuckles. I have very severe dry skin and it isn't a cure-all, but it is better than anything else I've tried. (Humidifiers are the most helpful thing, with this as a necessary supplement) My dad has a different problem where his nails split, and he has said this product is also helpful for that. It really strengthens your skin and nails, but don't worry ladies it doesn't give you thick, tough, ogre skin. It makes it more resilient, while at the same time softer and more supple. I would say the best aspect of this product is that it dries quickly because it isn't oil based. It actually absorbs into your skin, leaving them dry. There is a strange grippy feeling for a little while after they dry.

Having had a problem with dry hands from constant washing, peeling thin nails, fragrance allergy, and dry feet I can tell you right now that this stuff after only using it for a few weeks has helped TREMENDOUSLY! I've tried just about everything including crazy expensive paraffin wax lotion and nothing was working, I was left with hives and burning/itching hands that would go back to being dried out, cracked and itchy after washing my hands the next time. Now my nails are growing out strong, my hands are clear of hives and dryness since starting M n' T and my feet don't require constantly going to get pro pedicures. Some have said they don't like the scent, I personally don't mind to me it smells like light version of sunscreen and I rather enjoy the scent. Don't change a thing Mane n Tail! Thinking of getting the big pump. The 6oz is a good start if you'd like to try it out 1st. It's also nice that it doesn't require much to use, you can take it anywhere etc. Lasts forever and doesn't leave your skin feeling oily/slick but instead silky! A MUST GET!!!

Used the lotion as soon as it was delivered! It has been well over and hour and my hands still feel nice and soft. This is my favorite lotion by far and sadly a bit difficult to find in my area. Wish I had thought to look at Amazon a lot sooner for it! I have been using Aveeno daily moisturizing lotion but Hoofmaker is far better on my hands and nails. While Aveeno is great for sunburns and helps my psoriasis some, Hoofmaker leaves my skin softer and doesn't 'wear out' as quickly. I use lotion at work as my hands dry out badly in the call center... usually have to reapply it often. I know I won't need to reapply as much with this lotion though and it is partially why I was upset when it got more difficult to find in my area. It will be nice to set that the Aveeno aside & use Hoofmaker to help re-strengthen my nails and keep my hands nice an soft. I keep my nails long so it will be nice to worry less about ripping or chipping one! They are so brittle right now and keep cracking and chipping! I've bought it several times in the past and the difference it makes with my nails is amazing. I have recommended this lotion to people for a few years now and will continue to do so.

I have used this product for years. I massage it into my nails while watching tv. It makes the nails smoother and stronger, while helping the cuticles. I bought this one for a friend with cancer that has caused her skin to dry out immensely. She loved it and said her dry skin just soaked it in. This was a smaller size and, for me, more affordable for me to give it as s gift and to see if it worked for her.

My nails got stronger, and the cream absorbs fast.
