Perfect Compact Rower for Small Spaces
I am absolutely thrilled with this rowing machine! My main priority was finding something small and transportable for our guest bedroom, and this fits the bill perfectly. It's incredibly lightweight, which makes moving it around effortless. When we have guests or just need the floor space, I can easily prop it up against the wall where it takes up almost no room. Despite its small size, it provides a great workout. The digital tracker is a really nice touch for monitoring my progress, and the integrated device holder is super useful for watching videos on my phone while I row. If you're looking for an effective, compact, and easy-to-store rower, this is an amazing choice.

Nice Rowing Machine
The Sunny Health & Fitness SF-RW1205 Rowing Machine is a nice, affordable, little exercise product. It's very easy to assemble and use. I was concerned that with my shorter inseam of about 27' would interfere with the electronic counter being able to count my rowing strokes properly. So I make sure that when I pull the handle back it comes back all the way into my lap. That way my entire stroke will be counted. The Sunny Health & Fitness SF-RW1205 Rowing Machine is affordable, compared those very expensive other rowing machines on the market. It's the reason I bought this rowing machine. The Sunny Health & Fitness SF-RW1205 Rowing Machine is a nice little row machine. It doesn't weigh much and is pretty easy to pick up and move where it can be stored away until you want to use it. This rowing machine is very easy to use, even for someone who has never used a rowing machine before. The moving handle and seat help make the rowing action happen along with the use of your legs. My only concern is when I get to the point where my resistance level reaches 12, does the hydraulic piston need to be replaced? Where do you go from there? If Sunny Health & Fitness reads this review, I hope they let me know. If you (reading this and other reviews) of this Sunny Health & Fitness SF-RW1205 Rowing Machine, compare this rowing machine to others. Others are larger, longer, heavier, MUCH more expensive, harder to assemble, cannot be stored away, and often more complicated to set up and use. Just keep all those factors in mind when making your decision. In short, after using this Sunny Health & Fitness SF-RW1205 Rowing Machine for a bit, I'm quite pleased with its ease of use, easy and fast assembly, easy pick up and storage, and it was quite "easy" on my pocketbook, to boot!

Amazing for someone 5’ tall…
Fantastic for the price. Rower is solid, easy to put together. Seat glides well and the resistance is smooth. Best suited for shorter people - I am 5’ and the length is perfect. Anyone much taller is going to run out of leg room. This has helped me get back into a workout routine. It doesn’t take up much space and is light enough to pick up and pack around.

I'm 6'2" (1.89), 180lb (81kg), 32yo
It's perfect. I'm not a sport addict (not anymore), but I've always been moving and doing 1000 things... Because of the virus, we shouldn't go out, and suddenly I'm going crazy inside the house. I don't know what to do because I can't do exercise at home, at least I find it tedious. I see this machine, perfectly portable, very cheap, and great reviews. I was in doubt of buying it, but everybody was talking about how wonderful, and the people giving 1 star have no idea what they're talking about. If you're taller than me, don't buy it, you'll hate it. If you're my height or less, it is absolutely prefect. Feels very real (taking in account you're not really rowing in the sea, a river or a lake), way better than the cables and weights at the gym. You just need to be a tiny bit carefull when rowing back, but that's actually how you should do it... If it clank, you went to far, so in a way it teaches you the right way. Building it, took me 15 minutes top. Maybe before it was more difficult, idk if they change something, probably, because I read people saying it took them from 45m to 1h putting it up... I thought it was going to be worse, specially when I saw the instructions booklet... But it's just 3 steps. You don't even need that booklet. I started right away. Went ready with 500 reps in 5, and then 500 more in 7. Took a small break, and did the same again. Took me 1 hour, and I'm feeling great, blew some stamina and energy that needed to go away. It was fun and easy, and I worked out all my body. I couldn't be happier. Because of the tension, be careful not to touch the cylinder because it gets hot! I didn't read the warning... Who does that? But it's there, and i should've read it and be more careful, that's totally on me. And then you tell me it costs about 75 bucks?! It's incredible, a gift. You work your whole body, have fun, don't kill yourself and it's cheap af... And you know what else? It doesn't take space... It could go under a sofa, no problems whatsoever. It took longer to arrive because of the virus, wich is understandable, still, it arrived in 2.5 weeks, instead of the original 6 weeks, so I'm even happier. I might change it for an air or water rowing machine when I can spend the money and I have the space, only because I've never tried those and I guess they would be better, how would they dare to charge that much more of it wasn't that much better... I'm telling you guys, this was pretty much perfect. Best decision in respect of making exercise that I've ever made. After using it, my wife told me my ass was feeling great, so that's also something to have in account.

Thoroughly impressed by Sunny products yet again!
This is not the first piece of exercise equipment I've purchased from this company. I also have their mini step machine. I was hesitant to purchase the step machine — we're all used to seeing fancy, high-end exercise equipment at the gym, so the idea that I could get a step machine for $40 made me understandably skeptical. But I gave it a shot, and it blew me away. I can safely say that if it wasn't for that experience, I doubt I'd ever have even *considered* buying a rowing machine for as little as $80. It's my favorite machine at the gym, and I had a really hard time believing that there could possibly be a rowing machine that could satisfy me for such a low price. But I had the proof of Sunny's quality products right there in my living room in the form of my step machine, so I decided to give their rowing machine a try. I am so, SO glad I did. Yes, of course this machine doesn't have all the bells and whistles of the one at my gym. There is no big impressive flywheel, no water sloshing pleasantly while I row to put me in the right mindset. And yes, of course it would be amazing to have those things. But this rowing machine has everything that's important. It's insanely easy to put together (I had the whole thing working in less than 5 minutes), extremely user-friendly (just turn the dial to a higher number to get a higher resistance), almost silent (which helps me watch TV or listen to music during my workout without having to get tangled with my headphones), unexpectedly comfortable to use (the seat and handlebars have nice padding, the foot straps are comfortable as long as you've got shoes on, and the mechanism slides impressively smoothly), and — most impressive of all to me — it weighs NOTHING. I can pick the whole machine up with one hand with no effort, and that's coming from someone who wanted this machine because I have next to no arm strength. This makes it incredibly easy to store, too; I can toss it into a hall closet so it doesn't clutter up my living room when I'm not using it. I was nervous about the order, even knowing that I liked this company. I'm glad to be able to tell you that you don't have to be. If you can afford the best of the best, then sure — buy the kind with all the bells and whistles. But if you're exercising on a budget, like me, then this machine is PERFECT. I paid $80 for this machine that I use almost every day, and was able to cancel a gym membership that was costing me $35 per month. Within two months this machine will have almost entirely paid for itself! The ONLY negative thing I can say about this machine is related to the resistance mechanism, and it's similar to their other products: the metal gets really, really hot due to the friction during use. It's not a part of the machine that you're in contact with while using it, so it's not like you're going to burn yourself accidentally or anything, but it limits how long you should use it without stopping. I try to limit myself to 20-25 minutes on the machine before stopping to let it cool off for a while. But in the scheme of things, and for the price, that's a small sacrifice that I'm more than willing to make. I hope this helps you make your decision! And if you want to flesh out your home gym on a low budget like me, check out their step machine too — that way you can give your rowing machine a break without having to quit your workout, and come back to it once it's cooled off. Just a thought!

Fun and effective workout machine
I’ve been using this rower every day since it arrived, and overall I’m really impressed. It’s gentle on the body while still giving a solid workout, and the machine functions smoothly. The noise level is low, it was easy to set up, and the build quality is great for the price—it doesn’t feel or look cheap. I also appreciate that it doesn’t take up much space and can fold up to slide under the bed. I’ve also been enjoying the Sunny Fitness app—it’s fun to use and adds good variety to my workouts. However, there are a couple of disappointments. The description and the instructions both say the rower is Bluetooth capable, but it isn’t, which was frustrating to discover. And this morning, the Velcro foot strap tore after only four days of use. I’m not sure if replacement straps are available, but it was definitely discouraging. Overall, it’s a solid machine for the price, but these issues are worth noting for potential buyers.

Perfect for casual home rowing for cardio
My husband had been on me for awhile about exercising more and the only things I've ever enjoyed were rowing and yoga. We live in a really small place so traditional rowing machines were out. I did some research and this was priced right, compact and lightweight, and didn't plug in. This is not a machine for competitive rowing. But I can't afford that, and don't have the space. However, it is excellent for a great full body cardio work out. The best part is honestly the app. I had no idea how motivating it would be to keep track of my progress with virtually no data entry by me. The Bluetooth connects to the app and tracks the entire workout. Additionally, the app helps to make it like a game. You get points for working out and doing challenges. Plus, when I do a longer row, it's nice that I can do a yoga or Pilates class immediately after without much extra effort. And the yoga after has helped with so many pains that are attributed by old age and working out without stretching properly. Anyway, as a 40 year old woman with ADHD who has serious executive dysfunction, apparently having a machine at home is a huge game changer. I don't have to get ready to go anywhere and I can row whenever I want.

I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE THIS ROWER ... AND SO DO MY 70-YEAR-OLD HANDS!
I'm always looking for portable exercise options that will check all the boxes for (1) truly easy portability (easy to carry or maneuver, not too heavy or awkward); (2) has a small/slim profile for easy storage in my oh-so-tiny apartment; (3) doesn't take up too much room while actually using; (4) is super quiet; (5) is smooth and stable (doesn't move around while using); (6) is sturdy and well made (likely to last at least a few years); (7) has adequate, adjustable resistance to provide a great workout; (8) display is easy to reset and allows for static display (e.g., if I only want to track miles or speed); (9) display retains stats until you reset it; and (10) is affordable. Very few home exercise gadgets check all the boxes. This one checks 8 out of 10. The two unchecked boxes are why I dinged it one star. Others might dicker with me as to whether or to what extent it's significant, but it is a HUGE pet peeve to me when I don't have the option to set the LED display to a static setting so that I can simply track the distance or speed without having to wait for it to constantly cycle/scan through all stats. Equally annoying is when the LED display resets itself after pausing for just a few minutes. If I want to do a 30- or 60-minute session, maybe I want to get up to refill my water or take a bathroom break. If I failed to check my stats before I got up, too bad, so sad. When I return, it's back to zero, and I have no clue how long I've rowed or what the total count is. That truly sucks if you want to set a goal for a certain daily count or total minutes per day. Sadly, this is a problem with most LED displays. But I have had several pieces of equipment that get it right. Sunny, you can do better with this! On a more positive note, when I received this machine, I was pleasantly surprised to see that it was 90% assembled (and very well packed). It took me literally 10 minutes to assemble the final pieces, and I was on my way to my first rowing session. Everything that folks say about this rower is true! It was easy to assemble. It's quiet. The glide is smooth. The resistance is phenomenal. It feels well made. It's sturdy and doesn't move or wobble. It's compact and will fit truly anywhere - for both active use and storage. And for being so sturdy and well-made, it's amazingly lightweight. My 70-year-old oh-so-weak, arthritic, and achy hands have no trouble picking it up and carrying it around without having to bother to fold it back up. The only struggle for me is that it sits rather low on the ground for my achy, arthritic knees to navigate smoothly. I solved that problem by elevating the back about 3 inches, and I placed the rower right next to a window and very close to my office chair so that I can use the window sill and my chair to brace myself and help hoist myself up out of the seat when I'm done. I like that it's shorter than most rowers, which gives me so many more options as to where to put it in my tiny apartment. It easily fits in the cramped space in my office, right next to the window. Unfortunately, I believe the consequence of this compact size is that I'm unable to get complete flexion in my legs, bending them 100% as I move forward, like I can on rowers at the gym or more high-end home rowers. I believe that 100% flexion allows for a stronger thrust when you glide back. So it's a compromise, I suppose. But I'm way happy to be able to put it in my office. It makes me feel less guilty during those moments when I fall down a YouTube rabbit hole, as I can just scoot off my chair and onto the rower and feel less guilty about the time suck if I'm rowing while watching one too many vids. This is a great machine for anyone on a budget and/or with the challenge of getting a workout and storing the equipment in a tight space. I look forward to many years of happy rowing adventures. THANK YOU, SUNNY, for making an affordable rower that checks almost all of the boxes to help us get and stay fit in the convenience of our homes! Just fix that LED display, and you'll be Goldilocks-perfect! -Karen :)
