Looks great and easy install
Great product. Updated my 20 year old gas cooktop to this with little to no issues. Few things you must consider: 1) make sure your cut out is just right.. mine happened to be just short on one end so I just took a jigsaw and cut less than 0.1 of an inch to drop it in place. 2) my existing gas supply was a MALE 1/2” but what is provided in the kit is I believe a 3/8” or it was 1/2” which didn’t fit regardless so I needed to purchase a 1/2” female to 5/8 “ OD to fit the 5/8” flexible connector that I ALSO needed to purchase 3) so far getting all the burners up and running was easy, but it does take a second for you to get used to it because of its safety features. Overall give it 5 stars. Will update once I have cooked a few times.

AWFUL EXPERIENCE...DONT BUY IT!
I thought this was a great price for this cooktop & it looked high end at a budget price, however, once it was installed, first I found one of the grates had a crack, a small one, but still, it's brand new and shouldn't be that way. The BIGGER issue is the center burner will not stay lit once you release the knob. I contacted Amazon support & they were as helpful as possible, but said I had to talk to the manufacturer directly. I asked for a phone call, as opposed to emails so any questions could be addressed at one time and taken care of quickly. Empava did eventually contact me, by email, not by phone. After a few days of back & forth emails (and asking for a phone call several times and NOT getting one)it was determined by Empava that I have a bad thermocouple, and they are willing to send me one for free...IF...I can provide pictures & proof of purchase, which every screen shot of my order, order number etc., I've sent, is not good enough to even get them to send me the broker part, that we really don't know for sure is the issue. I don’t quite understand…Amazon contacted them directly HOWEVER...even if I ever do get them to send me the supposed broken part, I have to hire a local technician to install it. So now, I paid to have it installed, it doesn't work properly, its damaged, AND I have to PAY to get it fixed and working??? This is a BRAND-NEW cooktop! Seriously? So, I should have just bit the bullet and gone to Best Buy or Home Depot and spent the higher amount, at least I know I'd get a cooktop that is actually working properly. Oh...and after mentioning the cracked grate several times, it was never addressed either. I HIGHLY recommend you do NOT purchase this cooktop or any other Empava appliance!

Empava 30-Inch Gas Cooktop – Affordable Upgrade with Mixed Results
Empava 30-Inch Gas Cooktop – Affordable Upgrade with Mixed Results This Empava 30" gas cooktop caught my eye because it looked like a high-end stainless unit at a budget-friendly price. After two installs (mine and a rental property), here’s what stood out. Installation is pretty straightforward if you’ve worked with gas hookups before—cutout dimensions were accurate, and the kit includes conversion nozzles for both natural gas and propane. I did need an extra connector fitting on one install, but otherwise it was plug-and-play. The sealed burners make cleanup easier, and the cast-iron grates are solid and even dishwasher-safe. The safety shutoff feature is reassuring, and the overall appearance is sleek and modern. Performance has been mostly solid. All five burners fire up consistently once you get the hang of the ignition, and the center burner is strong enough for a wok or larger pan. It feels like a real step up from a 20-year-old cooktop in terms of flame control and efficiency. That said, quality control is hit or miss. On one unit, the grate arrived with a hairline crack, and on another, the center burner took some fiddling to stay lit. The included manual leaves a lot to be desired—it’s poorly translated and vague, especially on propane conversion. Online videos help fill the gap, but beginners might get frustrated. Customer service is slow and email-only, so don’t expect quick resolution if you get a bad part. Bottom line: For the price, this cooktop looks premium and works well when you get a good unit. Just be ready for possible small hiccups in setup or parts, and budget extra time (or a pro installer) if you’re switching to propane. r5

Somewhat disappointed
The product is very well designed from an aethetics point of view. hence the purchase. Installed months after receiving due to delayed kitchen project, but in original packaging stayed very well. Looked sparkling and very impressive out of the box. Functionally not so bad either and didn't have many of the issues I now read buyers have had. Like the burner sizes and placements. That said, 3 irritating disappointments: 1. The base metal of the stove scratches very very easily and needs unbelievable care while wiping; specially the front where the knobs are. More importantly, the small circular pads that hold the grates come off easily, 2 got 'lost' since we never expected something just falling off, and the grates immediately scratched the edges of the frames. 2. One knob already started showing wiped off SS finish and shows black at a corner. Not sure knobs are metal as described 3. Ignition is a bit weird. While appreciated for its probable safety feature, the wait is too ling and needs the knob to be rotated after ignition to be keep the burner lit. Sometimes, largest burner needs a soft blow of air (by mouth) for flame to move from inner to outer circle)... which has become a joke in our family.
