When we get in the car and go on long trips, I'll load up the ipod with stories that I've downloaded. But almost invariably we'll be pulling the cd's from "your story hour" out and listening to them.On this set of CD's there is a story about Sybel Luddington. She took a midnight ride much like Paul Revere did to warn neighbors of the British. This story has riveted my 9 year old son and we have listened to it over and over again. He has been fascinated about the women and their work during any war we've learned about.There is also several stories about Paul Revere. One of course, is his midnight ride. But you can learn a lot about Paul Revere prior to the midnight ride by listening to this story. We have also enjoyed the story about Eli Whitney.There are other stories on these cd's. WE have listened to them over and over again.This is more than just one person reading a story. This is essentially a set of plays. When the person in the story is young, the person speaking is young and so on.Obviously some of the discussions the characters have are made up because no one knows what exactly was said. But the stories stick as true to life as they can and provide facts during the enterainment.Give them a try. They really are enjoyable. And I can say that having listened to some of these stories over and over again.Well worth the money. Enjoy.
