Fountain Algaecide and Clarifier - 64oz - Kills and Inhibits All Types of Algae Growth, Formulated for Small Ponds and Water Features, Treats up to 64,000 Gallons

The product works very well. It will kill the algae but the dead algae will leave its brown remains in the bottom of the fountain bowl and will need to be removed. My fountain bowl holds about 150 gallons of water. I invented a fountain water filter system using a commercial available large aquarium filter system in combination with a larger water pump to push water into the filter system. I use an old brush I used on my car tires and just a little scrubbing to stir up the water in the fountain bowl and the filter system I created cleans up the dead algae floating in the water in about an hour or so. The fountain water features (bowls and such) will get dead algae also. Most of the time I just work it loose with my hand and let the water from the bowls flow into the my main fountain bowl. The filter system I created will take care of it. The water features use a separate water pump and has a washable porous filter but it does not pick up the small dead algae particulates. Bottom line is that the fountain used to be a real pain to take care of but not anymore. I can now just enjoy it When I need to add more water to the fountain the product continues to work without adding any more. Although a bit pricey, it is the most effective product I have bought of all the ones I have bought in the past. I use this in my bird baths also and have not needed to add anymore since the initial application. I fill the bird baths a lot more often than the fountain. One note here is that my bird baths and fountain bowls are concrete. The birds/animals do not seem to bothered by it when used as directed. They continue to drink water from both the fountain and bird baths. You can NOT use this product if you have/use fish in your water features. The classifier compound in it keeps the water crystal clear. One point is that when first used, it takes a few days to see any results. My fountain had a lot of algae in it so it took a bit of time and I needed to add more product to get the fountain cleaned up. The product is mostly a clear compound so it does not discolor the water when added.

Just started using this product, so far, it’s working. My pump is stay fairly clean with consistent water flow. Now the test of fall and early winter.

I have a three-tiered fountain that hold approx. 10 gals. of water. When I first received this product and tried it in my fountain, it wasn't working. The algae was still present. I was ready to return it. I even corresponded to the mftr. about it not working. Anyway, I decided to completely clean my fountain and start over with clean water. That was the answer. Eureka!!! It works great. Unbelievable. I add about 1/2 oz. to the fountain per week and the water in the fountain is sparkling clean all the time. I have tried many algae cleaners and none have worked, until I found this one. I simple take a 1/2 gal. bottle, add 1/2 oz. of this product and pour it all into the fountain. It has worked so far,, even in the humid, hot SC climate. That bottle will last me 1.5-2 years. Well worth it. I am so glad I didn't give up on it.

Keeps our large backyard fountain largely algae-free (as well as can be expected in Oregon, during the winter) and clear. Wildlife friendly as squirrels and numerous backyard birds continue to drink from the fountain.
