DVD Review: Hercules The Legendary Journeys - the ultimaye DVD collection! - Hercules - The Legendary Journeys - full box set, all films and seansons 1-6 on DVD in English (and German). Couldn't buy it anywhere in the UK stores (HMV also phased it out) and finally managed to get it from desertcart Europe for only £45, including delivery. Great bargain! There are no subtitles but the quality of picture and sound is still pretty decent, considering the films and the series were made in 1990's. Love the series with Kevin Sorbo playing the main protagonist, legendary hero, son of Zeus and a mortal woman, strongest man in the world - Hercules (or Herakles, if we were to stick to his original name in Greek). It took me back to my childhood. Hercules the Legendary Journeys directed by Sam Raimi doesn't stick to Greek mythology too closely but the TV production is fun to watch, full of action, humour and good special effects. Also love the musical score and breathtaking natural scenery (it was filmed in New Zealand). I recommend this DVD collection to any fan of Hercules and Kevin Sorbo. Awesome purchase! Kevin Sorbo is always fantastic as the main character and who doesn't love Micheal Hurst playing his sidekick Iolaus?? Love Kevin Smith as Ares and was sad to hear that he has passed away, such a brilliant actor. This is also some of the first sights of the hunky Karl Urban and hilarious Bruce Campbell. Love this show!!

Kevin Sorbo is brilliant

Amazing
I knew thanks to the reviews here that it would not play here in Europe. So I bought a region free dvd player (also on Amazon) and it plays perfectly! I am over the moon. Finally I can watch my childhood hero again. Only downside is the size on tv it plays in. Looks a little funny but you well get used to it. Please, buy it. You won't regret it.
