I received the unit in record time, the packing was very good, it had bubble wrap on top and bottom. My first impression was, boy is this thing small. I hooked it up to my computer then to a set of headphones, and played a song. I adjusted the volume on my computer up and down. To my amazement the volume to my headphones stayed perfectly stable, no noise or lag what so ever. I plan to install this thing between my mixer out and my 550 watt amp. I am sure it will work flawlessly. The problem I have is the wide variation in volume from one song to another. The unit reacts very fast to volume changes, I just can't believe it. The sound quality is excellent, and being made in the USA makes this unit worry free. I would recommend this unit to anybody that needs a serious volume stabilizer that works more than perfect.

This product sounds great on paper.But it doesn't work and their customer service is the worst. It was a fight getting them to accept a return, for which I was penalized shipping charges and a 15% restocking fee.Here's the whole saga:- I chose a movie ("Valhalla Rising") with a lot of quiet passages interspersed with loud ones. This movie has long quiet periods where the sound track is only outdoor natural sounds, such as wind or a babbling brook in the background.- Instead of simply "leveling" the quiet passages, the CeeNee actually causes a clipping effect. This produced a kind of stuttering where the sound would be completely silent for 1/2 second, come back on for a second, then go completely silent for 1/2 second, over and over endlessly.- When I removed the CeeNee from my audio connections, the problem completely disappeared.- When I described the problem to them, they responded that they will "submit this issue to our manufacturer" for a response. Two days later, I would get an irrelevant or misleading response. My favorite was "Oh, it's working. But you'll need to upgrade your speaker cables and speakers." Translation: "We know this is an issue, but we'd like to blame your equipment."After this kind of hassle, they finally gave me an RMA. An e-mail assured me that my refund (minus the restocking fee) would appear within 5 days. 10 days later, no refund. I followed up asking where my refund was. It was magically issued the next day.Folks, don't waste your time. And money.

I have a Mplayer media player stored 10K of Karaoke song, each song recorded at different audio level, too soft or too loud.Amazingly this small thing just need 5min to put between ,make all songs start right away at the same volume I like,not like some other devices or players work slowly like fade in effect and ruin the recording .Another thing is the sound turns out to be much better like a maiximizing effect.That what I feel , and all Music recording parts are at the same level, no need post processing adjustment.I like it , recommend it to people who have Karaoke or home recording.

I run a karaoke show and have found that the level that songs are recorded at can vary between the different karaoke labels; I purchased this item to give me a constant input level of signal to my powered mixer. Without changing any of the normal settings on the powered mixer, the CuTee Auto Volume Control was fitted between the karaoke CD player and the powered mixer - the gain control was at it's highest position. I immediately found that I had to considerably increase the output volume on the powered mixer to give me the same output volume as I originally had and additionally, the sound from the loudspeakers was really different - kind of tinny and not as clear. So for me, this item was a complete waste of money and I would not recommend it at all.

I bought this hoping it would work by leveling out the volume of all the different TV shows and movies that are out there today.It did try to keep the volume level but not very well, and, the low volume sound was constantly cutting in and out all together.Also, they don't make it easy to get your money back. But finally they did give me a refund.

I owned a competitor's brand ("automatic sound regulator" by ICS) used on my old TV for many years, which worked adequately, but this one definitely lowers commercial volume even better. Works well just connected between my cable box and analog TV. NOTE: as per the description, this will NOT work with HDMI cables, only old RCA ones. P.S. I really don't understand the negative reviews for this on here, but perhaps their audio setups were different from mine.
