For the price, it is a nice little box but the material is thin and fragile, you can see every single staple and nail they put in it without trying to blend it in, and the bottom is already chipping away at itself. The top is crooked and you have to push the clasp down to close it up. If I paid any more for it, I would be very unhappy with what I have recieved.

I'm so glad I disregarded the negative reviews for some of these little chests/trunks/boxes and ordered this one because the one I received is well-made & just perfect to display w/my shades of beige & brown ITOMTE standing gnome/tomte holding a sack between his little hands. It's finished inside & out, the hinges work well, and the lock works easily. I chose the model w/hieroglyphics on it because hieroglyphics are something you don't see every day, just like gnomes. It's so nicely made that I can very easily recommend this one w/o reservation.

Yes I understand this box was cheap and a great bargain. That doesn't excuse the even less than shoddy craftsmanship and clear damage and delamination. I would be better off buying an unfinished one at Hobby Lobby and finishing it for 4 times the cost.

I purchased this as a trinket box for my 8 year old grandson and it is absolutely adorable! At only about 3 inches, it is the perfect size to hold a few collectable coins or rings. ( and keep them safe from siblings and pets! ) The little latch opens and closes perfectly. I was a tiny bit disappointed in the top because I was expecting it to be more sturdy than it is. It is a minor thing so...Overall I am very pleased with this purchase.

Good value for the dollar. I have bought similar in the past, hiwever, this one is a but lesser quality. However, it will suit the purpose quite well and expected to last, sitting on a shelf. Nicely done on the design on the lidNot nit picking on the details given the price point.

I bought these for my grandchildren and filled them with pretend pirate coins. In one case I hid the little chest and created a treasure hunt with a series of clues in the form of sketches of the location of the next clue. My grandson loved it.

Classic case of you get what pay for. I'm waffling between 2-3 stars because it's hard to expect more if you're buying a product for $6. But one of the hinges was broke on one of these, it doesn't open or close all of the way. The other one, the wood was flaking off from the bottom. I'm going with 2 stars because cheap materials that don't last long is one thing, but they shouldn't already have defects when brand new.

I'VE ORDERED SEVERAL OF THESE BOXES.THEY ARE QUITE SMALL; BUT ARE VERY WELL MADE AND MANLY LOOKING. I'm sure they will make a cute little collection for anyone that likes Antique, Western Collectables. I'm very pleased with my purchases of these little boxes.
