Lobo Thai Laab Namtok Seasoning Mix, 1.06 Ounce (Pack of 10) Review: Laab is absolutely one of my favorite Thai dishes and I ALWAYS order it if it's ... - Laab is absolutely one of my favorite Thai dishes and I ALWAYS order it if it's on the menu. This spice pack is AMAZING. It has a slow heat that grows on you. It might be a little too spicy for wimps but I love spicy food so I was in heaven. The package recommends 300 grams of ground chicken or other meat of your choice. I'm not sure how much 300 grams is but I used 1 packet for about 1 pound of ground chicken and it was perfect. It's super easy to make. Saute your meat in 1/4 cup of water (Look Ma! No fat!), then once it's cooked add the spice packet. Let it incorporate and then season to taste with fish sauce. Fish sauce can be very strong and funky so start out with a 1/4 teaspoon and work your way up to your preferred taste. I used 1 teaspoon for my 1 pound of chicken and it was great!. Laab is a great spicy, tart, protein for those who are on a low carb diet. It's also a heart-healthy, low-fat dish for those who are watching their weight. You can use this mix on thinly sliced beef (You'll see this listed as 'Beef Salad' sometimes in Thai restaurants), but it would also be good with ground pork. I imagine it would also be tasty on sauteed shrimp though I've never tried it that way before. Also, just so you know chicken laab tastes great in a hard taco shell with a little jalapeno sour cream. Review: Love this! - I love this product. Itโs an excellent pick me up and quick to make meal. Served with jasmine rice and a platter of lettuce, cucumber and carrots, along with fried eggs.

A aspect but delicious season pack for ground beef.
If you like spicy compared to dirty rice, use this spice pack. I brown grown beef and add onions, peppers, and sometimes carrots all chopped small. After it is cooked to my liking I put in this pack stir add some water and simmer a minute. Then it is ready. I eat over rice or over chopped Cale or cabbage. And save the leftovers the next day or two I heat it in a pan then stir in the cold rice and cook to a Thai dirty rice. It is spicy but so delicious and you can add tomatoes or what ever veggie you like when you cook with this pack.

Delicious and easy
Delicious and super easy to use. Add your ground meat and chopped green onions, serve it with raw cabbage and rice. Almost like in Thailand.

Adds good flavor, but is too spicy for me to use the recommended amount. Good value for money
I like this seasoning mix. It adds a lot of flavor, but it does not replace the other ingredients in your larb or namtok. I make larb several times a week in summer. It's a great low-calorie lunch. I like this seasoning mix, which contains lime juice and ground rice powder along with other seasonings, but it does not replace those items completely. I still need to use lime juice and add extra ground rice powder (along with green and red onions, cilantro, shredded cabbage, and mint) to my larb. I can't just add extra seasoning because if I added enough seasoning to replace the other ingredients, the dish would be so spicy that I couldn't eat it. In fact, I use a lot less of this seasoning than the recommended amount, because if I used as much as suggested, the larb would be too spicy for me to eat!

Thai seasoning for a great price
It's hard to find this particular spice packet at the store, so I was happy to find it on Amazon. Plus the pack came in 10!
