I ordered this mess kit to augment my surplus Yugoslavian mess kit. Euro mess kits are primarily for boiling or stewing, and Americans prefer more fried and sauteed foods.I ordered the larger size 8x5 inch kit to nest my Yugo kit inside it, and the whole rig, minus the 2 cup plastic top/cup fits inside the original yugo pouch. I don't need the Yugo plastic cup, I cary an American canteen with metal cup.My test meal was a simple fry up. Canned potatoes, re-hydrated TVP "sausage meat", powdered eggs, and Cheez Whiz. The skillet/fry pan is the perfect size for a one person meal. I had no problems with the handle being flimsy or wobbly, but obviously I knew it is not solidly attached. Just be aware and you should have no problems either. Also, this pan is made of thin metal. Watch your food. Stir it to keep it from burning. Move the pan if neccesary. My breakfast was perfect. Some tang, some instant coffee, it's another day in paradise.

Excellent product, quick delivery
I bought this to nest with the other size in one of my day camping kits. It is a great, well built product with sturdy handles.

Good design and well made, but...
This mess tin is very well made and a neat addition to the Trangia 'storm cooker' system, but it suffers the same thing that a lot of Trangia's stamped mess kit components suffer from - sharp, unfinished edges. Many Trangia fans will tell you it's easy to knock off the rough edges with fine grit sandpaper, and that's true, but Trangia is a major manufacturer of cookware and uses modern stamping and machining technologies. Running their pots and pans through a quick de-burring process should be part of the overall production process. Because of this I'm only giving this product 4-stars.

Good Mess Tin
I like this mess tin. Edges are not a big deal but yes a little sharp. Lid can be hard to get on and off at first, especially while cooking, but I got the hang of it quickly. This model is pretty big.

Good after some sanding...
This box is good. Light enough to be a container for my camping kitchen and sturdy enough to be a frying pan when I in a mood of cooking my catch or just frying onion and veggies for my soup/rice/potato. BUT if you want to do all of the above without med kit then you MUST smooth the edges of the container with the sand paper... :-)I did not cut myself (because one customer already did it and shared the experience) and sanding was EASY, so I would recommend this product AFTER sanding it!

Look Inside For The Handle
It's what it is: a reasonably sized aluminum mess tin with a handle. Some people are saying they received one without a handle, and I'm not saying they are wrong, but the handle is inside the tin when it arrives (you have to attach the handle yourself). So look inside before sending it back.Mine had a tag saying 'Made in Sweden,' so I'm guessing these are made in Sweden.

Very tight lid
The lid got stuck and I couldn’t open it. And it has sharp edges, unfortunately I had to return it.
