Fretless Bass training
this is the one of three books that i've buyed to Amazon. The book is good and the DVD included make more comprensive, the text and the scores indise. Good suggestions for start-up, but Steve Bailey is one of the best fretless bass player and then, globally for starting up maybe one another book is more friendly.

Steve kills
The book and DVD arrived in good condition and both serve their purpose very well. Overall the book and DVD are meant to improve a fretless bassist's INTONATION and not improvisation, reading, theory or tune learning etc. and are meant to be used in tandem with one another for full clarity. If you purchase these items with these things in mind and practice the material carefully and consistently, your intonation WILL get better.

BORING
This is the most boring instructional video I've ever seen. We get to watch him play intervals over and over and over and over again. Oh, we also get to see him sitting on a rock with mountains in the background. If you know what octaves and fifths (as well as other intervals) are, then just play them up and down the neck as you listen, making sure to adjust when they're out of tune. That's essentially the entire content of this book/DVD. What's more, this guy loves himself--he can't get enough of himself. And it's baffling because he's so forgettable. Save your money.

Review of Fretless Bass
This is a very good book - shows you various techniques, which are good to learn. Having the DVD is a bonus.

A delicate skill made to look easy!
Steve Bailey is easy to watch. Women want him (I assume) and guys will want to be him. Of course he makes whipping up the neck of his fretless look easy as pie but the best bit of advice is the one he gives at the beginning - " Don't expect to hit that note right first time. At first you may be in tune only 20% of the time". With new confidence, and feeling I could make 1 in 5 (and no-one but our keyboard player would hear it anyway), I took my new fretless 5 string to our next rehearsal and found I was in tune at least 70% as far as I could tell and everyone else loved it. This video is easy to recommend. The exercises are useful and the tuition is first class and very professionally presented.
