Perfect replacement

I got this to fix a drip in my tub faucet. This was the exact part I needed and I got a OEM Kohler Part. Great deal and this was pretty hard to find so I am glad I was able to get it on Amazon. It is nice because the GP800881 model has all the gaskets built into it. All I had to do to install it was turn off the water, remove the old one, dry up all the water left behind, and install the new one. You do have to make sure it's clocked right so that it will correctly regulate the water temperature. What I did was take a picture of the old one before I took it out so I could install the new one the exact same way. Worked great and the leak was gone once installed. Super easy to install!

Easy to change out (once I saw the plumber do it). Unfortunately, this model by Kohler was not their better product. More importantly this item doesn't last but 4 or 5 years.

I bought this shower cartridge for my Kohler setup, and it worked perfectly. The fit was right, the installation was straightforward, and it solved the issue without any extra hassle. Unfortunately this product does not hold up. I should not be replacing it in 2 years. But, there is no alternative and it is expensive for what it is. The plumber said he keeps these on the truck because they don’t hold up. Probably should have avoided Kohler products. The two pieces you need to turn in the handle to close off the water to do the repair are plastic and snap so they are useless. I’d give this a 0 if it was available.

This genuine KOHLER Rite-Temp cartridge (GP800881) was a breeze to install. The one-piece design really does simplify the process, making it a quick DIY job. It works perfectly and my shower head no longer drips water. My only complaint is that my previous official Kohler cartridge only lasted about three years, which seems a bit short for a premium part given the price point. I'm hoping this one has better longevity because the installation and performance are excellent.

I had a dripping shower head in my master bathroom. I wasn't able to see the Kohler name on the plate, and couldn't find any set screws to remove it from the wall. I ended up calling a plumber, assuming that I just needed to try to unscrew it from the wall and change a cartridge, but not wanting to break anything or have a water leak in the wall. The plumber said, I think it's a Kohler, and if that is the case, you don't want us to change it for you. The reason being....they charge $516 to change this particular cartridge. He said, you can easily change this on your own, you simply remove the 4 screws, pull it out, put the new one in, and tighten the screws. I ordered the part from Amazon for $47 and changed it myself in about 8 minutes. This replacement couldn't have been easier.
