At a loss for words
Warning, it's a long read, but I wanted to go into deep detail. To start, I have been a Rainbow vacuum user for so long. I love them and felt they worked amazingly. Next, I have 3 dogs & a cat. One is a thick coat lab and the cat sheds so much as well. Another next, I have horrible allergies and wanted something that would help keep them calm as well. I also have a lung disease and need something that will pick up as much junk as possible to keep them clear. Now, on to the Shark vacuum. I got tired of lugging around the Rainbow and wanted to look into a vacuum that my daughter could use and help out. I found this Shark vacuum and 6 others that grabbed my attention. I dug deep. I read through every review, good, bad, indifferent. I wanted a vacuum that was going to truly pick up pet hair/dander, as well as pick up sand & dirt. I was drawn to this specific vacuum saying pet & allergen vacuum and loved that so many of the reviews said it had amazing suction power. I thought there's no way ut can be as amazing as most were raving about. After 2 months of digging and narrowing down vacuums, I was left with this one. I finally decided to purchase it and see what all the fuss was about. It came in today and I immediately out it together to the it out. I had just vacuumed with my Rainbow vacuum 2 days before, so I didn't expect much. Oh....my....gosh...! I am blown away! Seriously, no joke! The picture you see attached was after 2 passes over a 2' x 2' area in my living room. Not kidding...pushed it forward, pulled it back. Did this one other time. I was completely astonished! There is no way my carpet is that dirty after using my Rainbow 2 days before! I swore by that vacuum and how great of a job it did, so I thought. This vacuum pulled out dirt, sand, pet fur from 3 families ago, it seems lol. I immediately took this picture and dumped the resivoir since it was full. I was excited to finish the rest of my living room and then move on to the rest of the house. It took me 30 minutes to vacuum my living room because I had to keep stopping to empty the reservoir. I am grossed out that it was that dirty, but so grateful that I purchased this Shark vacuum. The vacuum is super easy to put together. It's not heavy and is easy to use. I love that it has the large vacuum and the option to break it down to a hand held vacuum to get baseboards and hard to reach areas. I also love that the power switch has 3 positions; Off, Bare floor, and carpet. I love that there is a place on the vacuum for hose attachments. I love that the power cable is quite long. I love that it's compact enough to fit in my coat closet, but large enough to vacuum the living room quicker than the sport vacuum. It makes vacuuming a breeze. The price is amazing for being a Shark vacuum. This vacuum is so amazing that I finished vacuuming, rinsed the resivoir and filter, put it away, and immediately sat down to write this review. Seriously give this vacuum a try! Your only regret is that you didn't get it sooner. I will update this review if anything changes. I am convinced this is the perfect vacuum.

If youโre unsure, go for it!
Iโm impressed. My 2nd Dyson lasted less than half the years my first one did. I figured Iโd try this. Wow! I guess my Dyson stopped working well long before I noticed! My first pass with the shark I had to empty the cup almost immediately. I feel like 5 pounds of sand was sucked out of the carpet! I got replacement filters immediately since it was obvious my carpets have been neglected. Since using it my carpets have been so much cleaner. It works great. A few cons: cord is not that long. Collecting area is smaller than what Iโm used to, the hose is awkward if I donโt lift it from base. Lastly the suction is so strong (not a bad feature)it is a workout to vac, it does have a suction dial to lessen the suction so that is a plus. Overall Iโm happy with my purchase. Kinda wished I would have bought the next model up but having never owned a shark, I started cheaper. I have 2 dogs, cats and live in farm country. If this vac works for me, it can work for anyone!

This vacuum is absolutely worth buying
This vacuum is absolutely worth buying. Itโs loud, but not in a way that makes it hard to use โ just powerful. I had to push firmly to lock a couple of pieces into place during assembly, but once everything clicked, it ran perfectly. The noise level matches the strength of the motor, and that strength translates into excellent cleaning performance. For a $200 vacuum, it exceeded my expectations. I even found a few useful features I didnโt notice right away. Overall, Iโm extremely happy with this purchase and highly recommend it.

I really like it!
Read a 3 year later update at the bottom on repairs: For comparison, I have been using moms 20 year old hand me down $1000 electrolux. My allergies have been so bad this year I decided it was time to look into a new vacuum (one with attachments!). My boyfriend was kind enough to vacuum my house before I got home from work with the electrolux (good guy!) and arriving home I found my new vacuum!!! Squeak!!!!! I quickly put it together and away I went. What do I like about it? - Its super light-weight in comparison to back in the day models. Though im sad I will get less of a workout on the stairs. My right arm was getting pretty strong. - Its QUIET relative to the back in the day models (though I would not say this quiet generally speaking) - It overfilled almost double over the full line full of dog hair, cat hair and whatever else. I did half my home just after it had been vacuumed with the older model. - The attachments work well. Cat fur stuck in the corner of the room? There's an attachment for it. Dog dirt on the steps? Theres an attachment for it. Need to vacuum the car? etc.... - Im not sneezing when I am vacuuming. This shows me that its hold in all those allergens rather than pushing them into the air. My old electrolux would send me into a fit of mucous and noise that would scare away any good boyfriend. This takes me to... - My allergies are calmer. Not perfect, but hey an improvement from a vacuum? It was worth it. - The amount of grossness lifted from my carpet. YUCK. How long was this stuff sticking to my floor??!? Seriously you guys. - No bags. Yes, I dont have to hunt them down online. What am I neutral about? - The swivel. Kinda fun. Can be useful. More fun than a non-swivel. But sometimes annoying. It makes to flop around a little. Having a lock to undo or do the swivel to your preference would be a great feature. What dont I like about it? - The cord. My electrolux let me vacuum my whole downstairs without disconnecting it from the wall. This guy I had to disconnect and move elsewhere. Another 10 feet of cord would have been awesome (and an inexpensive upgrade) - Emptying the grossness container was kinda... gross. I had to pick through it with my hand to get it out. Hrmm. Did I do something wrong??? - It feels cheap. I dont want to say it. Maybe im just use to the beast of a vacuum ive spent my last 10 years with. I could use it as a murder weapon for sure.... Hoping its relative. It comes with a 5 year warranty- so Go Team Shark! Overall, Would I do it again? Definitely a big YES. After seeing that canister full or grossness that I had to empty half way through my first vacuuming session.... It goes to show just how much my old vacuum was missing. I was temporarily concerned it was just because I can actually see it in the canister rather than hidden away in a bag that it was doing a Jedi mind trick. (not everyone always wants to see the grossness btw) After reviewing my carpets, I can SEE all that dark cat fur has been removed from my cream colored carpet. That dead bug in the corner of the dining room got sucked up too. My old vacuum wouldnt get that. Things change and advance over time. If your vacuum is showing some lack of efficiency, this is a good bet. 1/1/2012 Update- In love.... I had a Christmas tree nightmare on my hands. Literally and inch thick of needles stacked all over my white carpet. The entire tree died in my house. I used the wide mouth attachment to get the majority of the needles and then finished it with the regular vacuum. This vacuum sucked up an entire paper bag full of pine needles and small twigs. It only lost suction when it was absolutely full. I dumped it and continued. I was so happy with my vacuum that I forgot to be upset with the tree! Im calling him, "the little engine that could". Hes holding up really well! 12/10/15 Two times using their warranty. The first time was about a year ago. The entire base sparked and smoked. I found phone assistance was quick and painless to resolve... however, they did ask me to turn the unit on and try again. Probably wasnt the brightest request. Anyway, it arrived quickly and I replaced it. Good to go. This year the hose that connects from the top handle down to the base cracked and requires replacement. I noticed other reviews with this problem. Boyfriend used bright orange duct tape on it (same boyfriend, no were not married yet, maybe we just want to take our time, ok?) and it got most of its suction back. I called the warranty department. They had my info from last time. About 5 minutes later they said I would have a new one arrive in 3-5 days or something like that. Not painful at all. I took away a star because I know once my 5 year warranty is up, I am thinking these repair issues will continue. Before your warranty runs out, you might want to thoroughly look over your unit. Great suction, good warranty program, but not so great longevity on parts. Besides these issues, with regular cleanings, this still cleans up as well as it did in the beginning.

If you have pets, buy this!!
So happy I made this purchase! I have a dog and a cat in my house along with carpeted steps. I knew my vacuum wasnโt cutting it so I did some research and found this one. The suction/power is awesome, it was super easy to figure out the attachments, and the sound put my baby to sleep so all around 10/10. The dust canister is pretty large which is great. Truly this vacuum made it look like I had never vacuumed my carpet before with everything that came up. Canโt recommend it enough! It was so good I had to come here and write this long Amazon review

Very strong suction!
We bought around black Friday, because my other one bit the dust the week before the holiday. I decided to try a Shark this time based solely on reviews because I didn't want to spend as much as I would need to for a Dyson and while my previous Hoover was great, it sounded like the Shark's had better suction. This one definitely had better suction than my previous Hoover of a very similar type. I am a mom of a 2 teens, and a long hair cat and they keep my floors nice and crumby, so I use my vacuum every other day (at least). I needed something "heavy duty", strong, but easy to use. This fit the bill. Pros - Strong suction and it's pretty lightweight. I'm a small woman (5'4 foot tall), so this is very important to me. - After vacuuming just once I am AMAZED (and disgusted) by the amount of stuff (hair, dirt, crumbs, etc) this thing sucks up. We don't wear shoes in our home, so it's mind boggling. - Long cord so you don't have to keep unplugging and plugging it in constantly. I think it goes a bit further than my Hoover did. - It's easy to release the hose to use it. On my previous Hoover I had to detach the hose, attach it to a certain place on the vacuum and switch the mode on it. With this one I just hit a button and it detaches. No hitting a switch and no having to remove the hose and attach it elsewhere. - It's easy to dump out the cup. - The roller has not needed to be cleaned yet. I was routinely cutting hair and string off the old roller of the old vacuum. My dog loves to destroy toys and so our home is usually strewn with stuffing, string and bit of fabric that eventually clog up the vacuum. No roller issues or clogging issues with this one so far. - It looks nice and has a nice color to it. Yeah, okay, so that doesn't "matter", but it kind of does when it's sitting in a visible place in your home. You don't want a ugly eye sore hanging around. Cons - Okay, so this was a MAJOR one for me: The suction is SO STRONG that I can't use it on the area rugs. They have a thick shag rug in both of their rooms (same rug) and it definitely will hide debris. The suction is so strong that the vacuum just gets stuck in place. This was a major issue for me and I honestly thought "I need to send this back", but I figured I could use one of the attachments (the wide one with nubs on it) and the hose to do their rugs. Fortunately, their rooms are small and the rugs are only 5x7. While I wish I could just use the vacuum normally to do their rooms, it's a trade off for the suction power that it has. It doesn't take too long to use the hose to get their carpets, but I'm always concerned about "missing a spot" because I'm using a little attachment and not the whole vacuum that covers a wide area. - The canister part of the vacuum seems very wide and clunky. It doesn't seem to affect my ability to tilt the vacuum to go under furniture, but it certainly "feels" clunky because it sits so far forward compared to the roller part. Regarding the fact it does not work well on area rugs, I recommend getting a little Shark hand vac. I got a cordless one at the same time as this vacuum and it's really super useful for small messes and for getting the area rugs when I don't feel like getting out the big vacuum.

Amazing
So easy to put together and use. The best past about this vacuum is not only how well it cleans, but how easy it is to clean. I have long hair, I feel like any vacuum I use, when I go to clean it I have so much hair wrapped around the bristles. This vacuum I feel like it doesnโt have so much hair in the bristles, but in the vacuum itself. And what is around the bristles, is so simple and easy to cut off or rip off. 10 out of a 10

It is VERY hard to push
First of all let me start out by saying that I am a perfectionist. My kids will tell you, my husband will tell you and pretty much anyone who knows me will tell you that I when I pay good money for some thing I want it to work well. That with my hope with the shark navigator lift away. I have owned one of these in the past and I donโt remember much about it other than I wasnโt crazy about it Way back then and promised myself I would never buy another one and I didnโt for a long time up until now . I thought with all the Positive reviews and all of the new technology in recent years that the shark would live up to the reviews that it has here on Amazon. I was wrong or at least I think I was wrong. I literally just received the vacuum today. Itโs also important to note that I have hardwood floors all throughout the downstairs of my 4500 square-foot home. All of the hardwood is covered with area rugs that are dark colors mainly because we built our house in 2005 and dark colors were in at that time. So, when we adopted two all White Rescue dogs, one of each one of which is very large and very hairy and sheds constantly, I never knew I would be vacuuming two and sometimes three times a day just to get rid of the hair. With that being said I needed a decent vacuum that could pick up pet hair easily and that is how this vacuum advertises itself. I now have three vacuums but most of the ones I bought in the past were disposable. If get a full year out of them that is a lot. Iโm not talking about cheap 75 or $85.00 vacuums. I am talking about vacuums that are $175.00 or more. I noticed some that might not think that $ 200 is an expensive vacuum and I guess it isnโt compared to the vacuums like Dyson and the other $1000 plus vacuums but to me $200 is still a decent amount of money and for that price I should get a decent vacuum. My past three vacuums have all been Bissells. I bought my first one about three years ago and was very happy with it so when it konked out I continued to buy that brand. . I still think itโs a good vacuum for the price but they honestly donโt last more than a year at the most and Iโm getting tired of doing nothing but buying vacuums every six months so I thought I would try The shark and give it another shot, especially after all of the good reviews it got on Amazon. I jus5 received it today. My husband took it out of the box and put it together in less than 5 minutes. I immediately tried to vacuum up the tons of white long-haired wired fur for that sticks into my area rugs from one of my rescues. In all honesty this brand new vacuum did not work much better than my one year-old Bissell vacuum, which was extremely annoying to me , but the thing that really irked me after opening it ( I did not know this before I bought it and probably would not have bought if had known) is that it doesnโt have a retractable cord. I canโt begin to tell you what a pain in the neck it is t wind up a cord especially one on a $200 vacuum. All of my Bissellโs have had retractable cords. I canโt understand why that is such a problem for shark because Iโve checked out pretty much all their brands and all of them have windable cords at least all the brands that have cords. . Anyway enough about the cord now let me talk to you about the vacuum itself. I think any brand new vacuum is gonna be great at picking up dog hair, after all itโs brand new. This one worked well but it was extremely hard to push on my area rugs. Also, at the end of the rugs where all the dog hair seems to gather, I had to push the vacuum at least three or four times to get up ALL the hair that accumulated there . It was very frustrating especially with how heavy this thing is to push!,, itโs not a Light back in by any means. When I read the reviews on Amazon, one reviewer said that the vacuum glides through their house !!! All I could think of is that they donโt have any rugs theyโre vacuums and itโs gliding on hardwood because it definitely does not glide on area rugs !!! In fact I ended up with a backache after I just vacuumed only my kitchen and sunroom. The Bissel was also a hard to push vacuum with but again itโs a less expensive vacuum and It did the job so I never really complained about it. Iโm still going to hold onto this vacuum because I do like the idea of being able to lift away the canister and vacuum the stairs which was definitely a pain with the Bissell. To try to lug it up the stairs and back down again when I was done. And I have a lot of stairs!! I will try to update my review After Iโve used the Shark everal more times I will let you know what I think but for now I am not overly impressed . itโs just my opinion . I guess itโs because I have a lot of continual dog hair that impedes itself in my rugs So it is probably a lot more for someone like me to vacuum than someone who doesnโt have any dogs or dogs that do not shed. Oh, yes there is one more thing I do you want to mention .The head on the vacuum is much smaller than the head of the vacuum on my Bissell But I donโt think thatโs a bad thing because it does actually get more places that my Bissell could not reach but again as far as ease-of-use it is definitely not easy to use.

Amazing suction power
So far, we love everything about this vacuum. I'm blown away by the power/suction it has. Not only does it pick up everything off of a rug, but also wood and linoleum floors (which is what we have mostly) but we use those vacuum-seal bags to store off-season clothes and linens and it sucks so much more air out sooo quickly! Our old vacuum was so lame compared to this one. But we have a big rug and a runner, and probably getting more rugs later. I like the fact that you can take the small canister off and use the extension wand to clean corners and up above on the ceiling (we have fairly high ceilings). It's also very lightweight and doesn't take up a lot of space. It fits in a cupboard we bought to store it, that is 16"x16"x 6'. We've only had it for a month, but our son and his girlfriend bought the vacuum and I went to look at it before we ordered it and they've had it for a few months and have no complaints about it. I'm really happy we spent a little extra to get this one. We haven't used it a lot, so haven't had to empty the canister yet, but my son showed me how to do it and it looks like a breeze. The other thing, is that it does pull easier than push and we're vacuuming a .5" pile carpet. Of course on the wood/linoleum floors, no problems. The one thing I was not happy about is that I tried to call the Customer Service number 15 min. before their posted closing time and they were closed and when I sent them an email it bounced. I've not yet pursued that, but I will. My son said they had no problems with them when they discovered they were missing one of the brushes and it was sent to them.. We also didn't get the pet brush that was supposed to come with it, but we don't have any pets, so not an issue for us. Overall, I'd say that this is a great product and with the short time we've had it, we like it.

Absolute suction monster
First impression blow me away, I was actually shocked. I vacuumed this morning with my old eureka vacuum and received this new vacuum tonight did a test run and I tell you my old vacuum was absolutely useless, I could not believe the amount of dust this monster got out! I highly recommend this vacuum

Good for the price
Overall I'm happy with the vacuum as it's great for the price. Easy to empty and clean, and great suction that you can control. The carpet brush seems to have good power. The unit overall is light and easy to lift and manoeuver. One major con...because the unit is so light and the carpet cleaner isn't too wide, using the tube with attachments in almost any capacity more than 1 foot away will tip the vacuum or handheld unit over. Maybe the Shark hose is too stiff and doesn't extend well enough without pulling the entire machine. This gets extremely annoying if you vacuum frequntly with the crevice tool or duster. I'm comparing this to my dyson multi-floor 2 which is heavier and has rarely tipped while using the hose with attachments. However, I wouldn't fault the Shark as it's $500 cheaper. Also, I found it to be a challenge to purchase accessories for the NV352 through the canadian website. The current option seems to be to try and find them on Amazon or somewhere else or order from the US website and pay US$35 international shipping.
