IDK if there's a quality control issue based on some other reviews but this thing has been fantastic for me. I've left it in scorching hot cars MANY times. No damage. The speeds are appropriate and the highest setting puts out some decent air. It doesn't take a terribly long time to charge and I was surprised how long a charge lasted. I've had this thing on for hours, cycling between speeds. It's a USB C connection and it's fairly compact with a lip to grab when transporting or moving it. It's of course incredibly easy to use. It's been very durable so far and even when it took a hard hit from a moving vehicle, the only thing that happened was the speed knob fell off. I clicked it right back on. I did notice it has an odd flaw where it stops momentarily on the first speed and then starts right back up immediately. This doesn't bother me. I'll update if anything changes but I've had this fan over a year of frequent use and it's been great. I'd absolutely recommend it.

Great! Works with older chargers not C-type. Comes with a cord or get a c-type converter. Great to keep on bedside table to grab for those hot flashes. Bought 1 for work too. Really and good air flow. 3 speeds. All are good

I have had two of these little Holmes "high velocity" desk fans for years. The oldest one, probably 7 or 8 years old (likely older, I received it used), just died after years of excellent "high velocity" service. Because both of the fans I've had were excellent little "high velocity" fans, I wanted to replace the expired one with the same little fan.After ordering my new Holmes desk fan, my order was "lost" and I had to order a replacement for the lost order. When I received the little fan, in appearance, the exact same fan, I was quite disappointed in the velocity which was much "less" than the two older fans I'd had for years.In a strange twist, the "lost" fan finally arrived many days later. But, again, even with this "lost" but finally delivered fan, I was disappointed in the velocity of the fan. One of the two new fans had a little more velocity than the other, yet even that fan was significantly lacking the velocity compared to the two older fans I'd had for years.Based on my experience with these two newer fans, it would appear that the product is no longer of the same quality in velocity as the older fans. The difference in velocity is SIGNIFICANT between the two older fans and the two newer fans.I cannot recommend these newer fans because of the significant lack of velocity. Maybe the two new fans I received were "lemons", so to speak, but I'm not willing to try for a third one. Two stars were given because the fans were very quiet, operationally, and not at all distracting.UPDATE: I am returning the 2nd Holmes fan...it simply does not function to even the lowest expectations. I am replacing it with "efluky" 3-speed mini desk fan (at less cost). The ONE speed on the Holmes fan that I am returning has even LESS velocity than the replacement "efluky" 3-speed mini desk fan has at its LOWEST speed! And the "efluky" 3-speed mini desk fan has two higher velocity speeds!

Bought December of 2020 and this little powerhouse is still going strong in May 2025!!! Laying in bed enjoying it right now.

The media could not be loaded. Very disappointed with this fan. I got this fan to replace my exact same fan same down to the wall plug and not one of the new usb plugs that everything has now and days.We use this fan at bedtime to have air circulation and white noise but I have sensitivity to new chemicals and stuff so I wanted to get a new one before this one broke so I can let it air out and run for a bit before I would need it because I can’t have something new blowing around near my face.So I received the fan got it out and plugged it in. Only to find it does not have the same power as the old fan and it makes absolutely zero noise. The old fan is way more powerful and because of the power of the fan it makes absolutely zero nice white noise that I’ve come accustomed to. It has the same us regular 60hz and 13 watts and says high velocity but it sure is not. I hate that you can’t even get the same quality as I did before on the same exact fan I bought in 2022. They have made it cheaper and less powerful.The old fan was from sunbeam products, inc in Boca ratin Florida and the new one says it’s from Star elite, inc in Montreal QC Canada. Both say maid in china. So this new company must have been cheaper and downgraded the parts or motor or something because it does not have the high velocity that the old one did and the one before that because I’ve gotten this same fan for years. I made sure it had the wall plug just in case so it would have the same power.Such a disappointment that I can’t get the same quality in a trusted brand This looks the same metal outside same portable size same one button power with one speed and seems to have the same durability on the outside but the inside parts are not the same. Even the fan blades look the same except these blades are super shiny so maybe the blades are made of different materials. I’m not sure but in the end the power is not there as with anything these days you can’t get the quality anymore even from trusted brands and the same exact product. And the fans today are all plastic and I don’t want plastic I want the strong metal fan.I made a video of my old dusty dirty fan (sorry) and the new fan to show the difference. Guess they weren’t expecting someone to notice that is made differently now.
