Great, Silent Shredder
I love this shredder. I've had it for about 6mos or so now and it works as exactly as described. It's super quiet which is good because I wake up earlier than my husband and sometimes start fixing up he house which involves shredding junk mail. I was afraid to purchase this at first because of the touch ability. I thought maybe it wouldn't work as well or perhaps the touch ability would malfunction but glad I gambled with the purchase. Great buy!

Cost effective, many features, quiet, great design, love anti-jamming, does CDs, staples, etc.- really does 12 pages
Absolutely perfect! I read over a hundred reviews before deciding on this one (I'm an IT manager). In my situation, I needed something that was considered solidly built, handled more than my 7-9 pages, handled small metal like staples, worked with CDs/DVDs, and had a removable bin. That was about it. I select shredders that last and are reliable. My last 2 lasted over a decade each. My last one just broke after about 14 years and I needed a new one. I recalled it was always a bit messy when emptying so I like this one having a feature where you don't have to lift off the heavy top mechanism which always would have spilling out shredded remains in the teeth gears. Loved the pull out bin. And it came with some starter bags. A big plus is they made this shredder so the bag won't show (you know, like on trash cans with liners). While my floor is carpet, the wheels weren't necessary but it does keep it stable and one day, I might move it into a tile or wooden floor so that's a nice plus. The viewable window for knowing if I need to empty it soon is another of these several well thought out items. It's actually more discrete than in the photo so, it doesn't detract from the appearance in our home Study room. It does actually look nicer overall than the photo, by the way. There are no apparent buttons; there's a very lightly colored gray power symbol showing is all. When you press it, the few other items on the now visible "panel" light up. Various icons will light up, as needed, for visible feedback of what's occurring. For example, if you put your fingers near the shredder paper feeder, an icon will light up to show the shredder is temporarily disabled for safety (another nice feature). My biggest feature that I love is the automated jam proof function! With past shredders, if a jam occurred, I'd have to put it in reverse and hope it would give back the partially shredded items. On this one, it starts to shred and when a jam occurs, it pauses a few seconds, auto reverses, and then shreds forward again. It continues this process until done. And, all the while, the icons light up as indicators as to what's taking place. Very nice. It did come with some starter oil but I went ahead and bought the small plastic jar of oil for future use, that won't tip over as easy as the tiny starter bottle. It says you oil it directly into the feeder after each emptying of a full bin. That is one thing I learned over the years that significantly extends the functionality and the life of a shredder. The booklet mentioned also of the power saving features so, that's great. I did discover that it does auto-start when feeding papers, even after it had shut down for power saving so, I do like that a lot. There is a rocker panel on/off switch on the rear for main power to the unit. There's the power icon touch button on the top, front middle for easy front-side on/off access. I affixed an instructional label with an arrow pointing to that touch button as an average person might not notice it. When buying a shredder, I never count on it getting the actual nbr of pages it says so, I tested this one for a few things. First, I put together 12 sheets of paper (24 lb. bond, instead of the standard 20 lb. bond thickness) and it didn't start to shred. This is another great feature that the light will be red and it won't even try to shred because it would jam anyway; love that feature. So, since my paper is slightly thicker than common 20 lb, I removed one sheet and it began to shred, showing the yellow light, indicating it's a thick load. Later, I tried 12 sheets of this type of paper again and it worked. When trying the regular 20 lb sheets of paper, it always worked with the advertised 12 sheets. I only wanted a shredder that would reliably shred up to 10 sheets so, I knew to get one that could do 12 and this one does do easily when using the standard 20 lb. bond thickness of paper. It does shred much thicker cover sheets as well. I also like the fact that I don't have to worry about staples. When researching, I was surprised that there are a lot of shredders these days advertising they can't do staples, credit cards, or CDs! So, this one does all of them but I did notice they have identified (with imprinted symbols) on a specific location of where to insert them, i.e., CDs/DVDs on the right side, credit cards in the middle. That's probably going to be important to know for down the road so I'll probably affix another label later for that (the average person probably won't routinely know that the shredder requires a specific insertion point, even with those symbols). I think one of my biggest shocks was how much quieter this shredder was than my previous models. So, that's just another bonus feature I wasn't counting on. The price was great as, I didn't readily notice any other models that had all the features that I wanted without spending 60% more. I'm thoroughly happy with my shredder and anticipate years of usage from it. I hope these comments have helped you.

The Sure Way To Protect Your ID
Identity theft; it seems you can't turn on the news these days without hearing of another case of someone financial and personal identity being stolen and used for criminal pursuits. Protecting ones financial identity has almost become a full-time job in this society and there are a number of steps one can take to ensure you stay you. One such step for our family is to shred every piece of paper and or plastic that has more than our name imprinted on it. That is where the "Fellowes Powershred 73Ci Shredder" which features a 6 gallon pull-out bin, and1 year product warranty /5 year cutter warranty, enters the picture. Confession: this is not my first Fellowes shredder, indeed I have owned this brand of shredder for years, but my old model was on its last blades and needed to be replaced. After much procrastination and searching I decided on the "Fellowes Powershred 73Ci Shredder" because of its large pullout bin (I was tired of taking off the shredder motor assembly to empty the bin underneath), and its ability to chew through credit cards and CD's. Also I wanted a shredder I could roll. After using the shredder for about a month I can report that my investment was well spent; the Fellowes Powershred 73Ci Shredder has chewed through everything I have inserted into it, including staples. The backlit LEDs and touch screen are cool to look at and mostly functional; only occasional do I have to press more than once to power up the unit. The main power switch is located on the back of the unit; the touch screen makes the unit ready to run at any time. The "jam-proof" technology can throw one off because instead of one continuous run, the shredder motor varies its speed depending on the number of sheets fed and the thickness of the sheets. The large window in the slide out bin allows for easy monitoring of the amount of shred inside. Once full, there is small red LED in the shape of a garbage can lights up and the shredder motor stops. This same icon will illuminate when the bin is open. The shred itself is security-level 3, which is a cross between really long strips (which can be put back together and read) and really small confetti type of shred. For my needs the security-level three shred it what I was looking for because it small enough to be unreadable and large enough to be easily handled, though I recommend the bin be lined with a plastic bag for easy disposal. Conclusion All things considered I am very pleased with the Fellowes Powershred 73Ci Shredder; the unit is large, but lightweight, and easy to use. The shredder motor--which will need to be oiled from time-to-time (there is a small bottle in the box)--is efficient and once in place does not have to be removed. The units ability to shred multiple sheets of paper as well as CD and credit cards, make the Fellowes Powershred 73Ci Shredder a must-have for those serious about protecting their identities.

Very nice shredder - But Amazon Warehouse Deals needed to package it better
This is the 3rd shredder I've owned and at least the second Fellowes. I've found them reliable and durable for our household needs. The user manual could provide more information. Specifically that you don't need to to touch the front power button to wake it up from power saving mode (just start feeding it sheets). Also the speed of the motor operation changes based on how much you are feeding it. It runs more slowly if there are only a few sheets - this is really nice as slower=quieter. Again, this is something they should have documented, I had to call Fellowes customer service to make sure mine was operating as designed. The final item that makes this a 4-star item is how easy it is to trigger motor operation but not having the documents far enough into the shredder so they'll feed. As a separate note - Amazon Warehouse Deals did not repackage my unit in a way that respected the cosmetic condition of the unit. There was absolutely no protective material between the front and back of the shredder and the Amazon cardboard box. The front of the bin has a slight scuff, but not enough for me to exchange the unit over.

Solid product. Quieter than most personal shredders but does have a larger footprint and height if that is a concern. Not quite as quick as I was hoping but still works for shredding multiple stacks of paper. Less is better for feeding but seems to cope with the recommended limits. Nice looking unit and lights show when it’s on and working. Having a removable bin helps compensate for the bigger and heavier head unit. I would definitely recommend this shredder

Bon rapport qualité prix

Works well, as advertised. Emptying the paper bin will often leave loose pieces in the body of the shredder or on the floor, so it's not completely mess free. It is, however reliable, easy to use, and pretty much exactly as described by the manufacturer.

Funciona perfectamente para lo que la necesitaba, el precio en esta ocasión muy por debajo de otras tiendas en linea y físicas.
