Kensington Wireless Presenter Pro with Green Laser, Class 2, 150 Ft Range, Black

This little gadget is great. Works perfectly with my Macbook Pro (with Mac OS 10.6.6) and Keynote '09 (version 5.0.5). The green laser is crisp, bright, and tight. Your button options are 4-fold: previous and next slides, laser, and black screen -- simple and to-the-point. An on/off toggle switch prevents spurious button-pressing while in storage. Advancing and reversing slides is instant -- I don't see any latency. The USB transmitter stows neatly in a built-in docking cave on the main unit. Setup is totally benign -- just plug in the USB transmitter, and you are ready to go. I was a little suspicious of a more bulky controller, being used to the more conventional stick-like laser pointers -- but I now realize that the contoured controller fits nicely in the hand more naturally than the sticks of yore. All in all, this gadget is a great purchase, highly recommended for those who need to give talks often.

This was advertised as being compatible with Mac OS and Powerpoint, so I ordered it. It plugged in easily and worked perfectly on the first try, and the laser is incredibly visible against all types of projection and video screens. It is easy to use and has a blackout button to help you draw attention during a presentation. The USB key stores inside the pointer, just remember to switch it off to save the battery life. I just wonder why Apple didn't make this a standard part of the ultra-portable MacBook Air system. Oh well. Buy this and you won't worry about it!

I have owned another Kensington (33374), and loved the fact that the controls are simple, and have rarely caused any setup issues (unlike logitech clickers, in my experience). I purchased this model because two clickers rated 50 & 65 ft were a bit short in range to control the laptop, and I looked for whatever that had the longest rating - and I figured 150 ft would give me enough margin of error. And so far, it has worked beautifully, w/o any setup issues, and much further away that I originally anticipated. The controls are super simple - forward, backward, blank and laser. It may be inconvenient to some, b/c 'forward' is not registered as a 'click' (for example, you won't be able to start a movie on a click in powerpoint - need to set up to start automatically), but I'd rather work around that, than deal w/ some finicky short-ranged clickers. I wished that the remote is spring-loaded like the 33374, but this one is a great buy. It simply works.

I bought the wireless presenter pro because I give a lot of powerpoint presentations in college lectures and guest presentations for various groups. First the good: It works great when it works. It has a nice hand feel to it and the transmitter fits neatly into a little compartment inside the pointer unit for storage. The functions are all you really need (forward, back, black screen) and the green laser pointer is nice and bright - much better than a red laser. It comes with a sturdy little storage case. The Bad: It is very unreliable as to whether it will work on any given computer. The USB transmitter unit is frequently not recognized by the computer and therefore the only thing that works is the laser pointer. I have tried probably 7 different computers in the last week, both macs and PCs, and sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't. If it does work on a computer, it seems to always work on that computer, so if you only use one computer, you will probably be OK. I have solved the problem by trying different USB ports on computers, by unplugging other USB peripherals that might be causing some confusion, and by making sure the powerpoint presentation is loaded before plugging in the presenter. BUT, when you are walking into a room to give a guest presentation on their setup, who has time for all that messing around? Last week, I was one of two guest presenters at a meeting. I could not get my Kensington presenter to be recognized by the computer. The next speaker walked up and plugged in her presenter exactly the same way and it worked instantly. Grrr. In short, I would not buy this presenter again and I may be returning it.

I replaced a similar product with the Kensington, which literally addressed all of the separate issues we were experiencing with other presentation mouse / pointer products our presenters used. The green laser is extremely visible, and the storage compartment for the USB dongle is perfectly designed. We've used the device on a half dozen of our laptops so far, and it sets up and operates perfectly every time. Perhaps most importantly, the design is clean and clutter free- just the basic controls a presenter needs. Very intuitive and easy to use. We highly recommend this product, especially for the reasonable price.

Works exactly as described. Its a beautiful small piece of hardware. Literally open the box, put the batteries in (included), plug in the USB receiver and it works...immediately. Had no issues, the unit form fits perfectly in your hand, the 4 buttons are intuitive and your PowerPoint will react immediately, no delay at all. Forward, back, and black screen that is a nice one. I know what you are looking for I was looking for it to, and this unit hits the spot. Green laser looks great on the wall, the screen, and even against the LCD monitor. Keep looking if you need to, but this Kensington is perfect (and I am normally a Logitech guy any time I can) Great price. You won't be disappointed, you won't return it, you'll look like a pro in your next meeting.

I like the look and feel of the device. It worked great for maybe 3-4 presentations and then the laser pointer died. I replaced the batteries but the laser would not work. It still advances the slides fine though. Called Kensington customer support and a new one is on the way. Hopefully this was just an isolated bad laser pointer and the replacement will be OK and last a bit longer.

Great product! I love it, works very well, green laser is super easy to see. Wish I bought one of these things years ago. And it was cheaper than anywhere else without having to shop around for hours and hours. Would highly recommend it.

Green laser is powerful and shows up quite nicely on projector screens. Rather faint on LCD screens. Remote has good range and the batteries lasted quite a while.

I'm a professional presentations coach and presenter. A good remote is key for a smooth presentation when you are projecting slides, and this is, hands down, the best I've ever used and owned. The buttons are very easy to feel/find, believe me you don't want to star looking for the right button because they are either too small and/or too close to each other. I love the no-nonsense layout and the range. Highly recommended.

Plug and ready. Nice green light. Not cheap but for those who do a lot of presentation, it is a must
