Great addition to existing home speaker. Parallel or series wiring.
This is a great way to add treble. I add these to my typical 8ohm shelf speaker. Two way to wire these tweeter to your speaker. Parallel: just connect another wire red to red, black to black. This will give you high treble, but risk of overload your receiver. Series: one single wire from reciever red to main speakee red. Then another wire from main speaker black to tweeter red. Then another wire from main speaker black to receiver black. This will give you less treble, more balance with your existing speaker. Help with not overload your reciever. The series mether is inconvinient because you have to split your existing speaker wire to single. Overall I love the sound in parallel wiring. With the subwoofer, it doesnt make the treble too harsh to the ear. I ll buy another pair for my basement system.

You can hook them up to your computer surround sound
I hooked these up to my computer surround sound system and the Tweeter sound very nice.

Perfect match for big Cerwin Vegas. Brings the music to life!
So, I gave these a brief test today, on my main system. My main system isn't vintage, but it's rocking a pair of Cerwin Vega VS-150s, which are actually the perfect speaker for this test. My amp in this setup is a Yaqin MC-100B tube amplifier, running Tung Sol KT-120 power tubes for a punchier bottom end. No tone controls. Source is a Phase Linear PL8000 linear tracking turntable (same as Pioneer L1000, but in silver), connected to a Yaqin MS-12B tube phono stage (mullard repro tubes). Hooked to that are my VS-150 Vegas, and I paralleled the new tweeters with the Vegas. These tweeters are a VERY good match for these big Vegas. The tweeters are very efficient, which means they're very loud. They're almost a perfect match for the Vegas as-is, however. I might try a resistor or an L-pad to turn them down just a tad. Maybe 2db at most, but if you have less efficient speakers (Vegas are 102db) you'll definitely want an L-pad to adjust them down. Now the sound... Vegas are not known for their clarity. The VS series had the best tweeters, but they're still not detailed. These tweeters fix that completely. Cymbals sound amazing, and the music was bouncing all over my room. I tested with one of my favorite recordings (the new Daft Punk album), and my ears were perking up with all the new stuff I was hearing -- or old stuff heard in a new way. The sound stage expanded enormously (again not a strong point of the Vegas). The big difference is after i listened to one whole side of the album, I listened to it again, but this time without the tweeters. It sounded flat and lifeless in comparison, like I was missing half the music. THAT sold me on these tweeters. After one listen, I can't stand not having them paralleled to my Vegas. Even if they do need a bit of tweaking, it's really not much, and they're very livable as-is. Only downside is I can hear a LOT more surface noise. Grumble. Time to buy a record cleaner.

They are GREAT I wish they extended to 40 K Hertz.
Many tears age Radio Shack used to make these tweeters under their name REALISTIC and I have lots of them in every home I own. For years I was looking for something similar until I found those PYRAMID ones almost exactly the same shape as the REALISTIC ones. I was stunned I immediately bought 2 and then another 4. Now to justify the 1 star I hold back: These go up to 25Khertz whereas radio Shacks were up to 40 K Hertz. Granted the normal human ear can only hear up to 25K Hertz which goes down to 15 K Hertz with age , so what is the big deal ? very simply even thought you can not hear the 40 K Hertz frequency this range gives a different pizzazz and stumpf.even to the 15 or 20 K Hertz that you can hear. So even we can not find the good old REALISTICs . Yes- I still enjoy the REALISTIC ones. Having said all these: I am NOT turning down the PYRAMIDs. They are excellent, consistent sound, they can be added to any speaker system and they DO sound excellent. They are designed for homes , they look good and they can stand a 300W load. Highly recommended. They will add life to any stereo system no matter what quality. They also can be added to TV sets if you can and it will enchant the speech to make it crisper and easier to understand. Naturally their sound volume depends on your equipment how much juice they can feed to the tweeters , some do more, some do less. But they will sound good no matter what. I wonder why PYRAMID since they adopted the design , shape , looks of the REALISTIC ones why they did not go up to 40 K Hertz ! to makew it perfect ? ! .

What hearing loss?
I don't care to wear my hearing aids often. The sound quality I experience without them leaves more to wish for though. I had the idea for a long time to add a pair of tweeters to my sound system- which is simpy a mini amp powering an old pair of Onkyo speakers. I use the sound for a projector. There's lots of good word here in the reviews on the pyramid super tweeters. I thought I'd see for myself - especially since they are budget friendly. Well, I opened the box a couple of hours ago and have them placed on the outsides of my Onkyos. The difference is extreme. I suddenly hear the high frequencies, voices, and all other instrument sounds. And the stereo separation - its like I forgot what it was all about. The sound quality now leaves nothing left to desire. Thank you Pyramid.

Super Tweeters!
These tweeters are very bright out the box and require some burn-in time to level out or maybe just get use to the additional high and loud frequency output. These are awesome at ~$20 and worth a try. They are heavy and have a solid build. I do not like the spring clip connections in the back - I had trouble getting 16GA wire in there without it fraying a few strands in the process. The logo comes off easily as I found out and looks better without it. I also do not like the swivel base as it is a weak point and not required if you do not permanently stick/glue your tweeters in place. I almost packed these up to send them back when I first put them in service. The sound was shrill and irritating. My current speakers have 1 inch domes and (I felt) sound well balanced as it was before these. I got these because I had and loved those Radio Shack tweeters that these are styled after from back in the days when they made decent speakers (and still have those RS tweeters in their box packed somewhere in the attic). These added a top end that I just was not sure about at first. I left them playing and it appears that they needed to break-in some and definitely they are much smoother now and more detailed sounding in the ultra top end. If I took them off now, I will feel that something is missing, so you definitely get use to them and learn to appreciate what they do. At the going price, they are worth it and maybe worth much more for titanium bullet tweeters. Enjoy!

Good Value For The Price
The first thing to understand about these tweeters is that they are inexpensive; for twenty bucks you get a big, bright sound that may or may not appeal to the individual listener. I have a pair of KEF C85 speakers that are in remarkable shape, except for the Uni-Q tweeters. The tweeters were filled with ferro-fluid, which dried out over the years and left the tweeters essentially dead. Since these tweeters are no longer manufactured (and positioned in the middle of the midrange driver), I wanted to see what I could get mounting a set of tweeters on top of the speaker cabinets. The TW28 fit the bill perfectly and at little cost. The TW28s did indeed bring the KEFs back to life. The highs returned, opening up the soundstage and making the speakers listenable. Unfortunately, the overall sound, to my ear, was harsh, brittle, piercing at times, and, ultimately, tiresome. None of this surprised me. Like I said, the TW28s are cheap, not bad, just cheap. They pointed me in the right direction. I purchased a set of Fountek NEOCD 1.0 Ribbon tweeters (as I write this, on sale here at Amazon for $45 each). These are modest but well-made ribbons that produce clean high frequencies. The KEFs sound good again, though that sound is undoubtedly different from the original factory configuration. I think the TW28s have a genuine appeal, depending on a given set of considerations, and are certainly worth $21. I'm not sorry I bought them.

Great value
Awesome for the money .. simply 5stars from me.. versatile and great addition to a system .. be nice to have a controller inbetween to modulate but I just faced them towards the wall rather than facing out and it dialled them in nicely with rest of speakers and end sound. Won't hesitate to buy another pair

Excellent Speakers at a low price worth every penny
Received on September 28, 2022 these Pyramid TW28 bullet horn tweeters, I used them in compliment with my solarium full range speakers. The tweeters connected internally to the 150 watts network crossover that deliver the high frequency to the tweeter. If wired correctly the tweeter produces very clean and distinctive highs that will improve the sound quality of your full range speakers. I do like them it is my third pair. I do recommend these tweeters to anyone that may be thinking of purchasing them.
