Q: does it have a cd drive to record to hard drive?

With the firmware update you can connect an external CD drive and copy a CD to the hard drive in WAV or FLAC format.

Q: No Remote stopped me from purchasing this. Why only an App?

You can always download the HDD app and that greatly expands the remote control features.

Thanks for your question. Your 3313's internal amplifiers will be a better choice to run your front speakers for a variety of reasons including that the amp on the Sony is only 40 watts. This is a fantastic sounding unit. World Wide Stereo is 35 years old and a very proud Sony dealer.
