Dremel Digilab 3D40 Flex Build Plate Package

Installation was a breeze but you must remove your existing build plate before installing this one. The flex build plate is of great quality and the earth magnets are very powerful! In the pictures you will see a bag of lubricant that will need to be applied to the screw drive that is located in the center-rear part on the inside of the enclosure; (its a very easy process that takes 2 seconds to apply). So far I am very pleased with this purchase.

So, having become a little frustrated with scraping off my prints off the bed, I broke down and got the flex bed addition for my 3D40. It has been a good addition. Some notes. This does not go on top of the old bed, this is a bed replacement, just just clicks into where the old bed was located, so, easy to install. It is a different thickness than the old plate, so, re-level before using the new plate. I also found that I have to run my PLA a little hotter now, as I am pretty sure the metal of this plate is dissipating the heat quicker that the old tape on top of glass plate.Is it perfect? No... you still have to use some sort of tape, and, I found I have to use sticky glue a lot. It is not as good as having a heated bed. But, is it an improvement? YES, yes it is. It makes removing larger prints off the bed much easier. For small based prints..not so much, but, it helps a little bit, usually able to flex it enough so that I can get an edge of my scrapper in place to remove the print.

Got this for my original version Dremel 3D40 that came without this. So glad I purchased it since it makes it so much easier to remove the prints and less work for leveling since you dont remove the whole tray. Highly recommend.

Product is fine but i CAN’T find replacement build sheets ANYWHERE!!!
