Delivery great.....product quality, not so much
The book itself is great, good content. And the delivery was fast and efficient. Regrettably, after a few days of reading, the pages are falling out!! Poor binding of the book, I guess. Unfortunate, as it was not inexpensive.

A wonderful resource for women who hope for a VBAC
I purchased this book to bolster my courage to support my beloved daughter's desire to have a Vaginal Birth After a Cesarean (VBAC). I myself had a VBAC 28 years ago that didn't go very well. The outcome of mine was that my uterine incision nearly opened, and I was told I could never give birth normally again. This knowledge laid heavily on my mind when my daughter said she wants to try for a VBACBirthing Normally After a Cesarean or 2 was superbly calming . The book is heavily researched and combines reassuring scientific facts with delightful successful VBAC stories. It does address possible complications, and puts them in their proper perspective. In many cases the women were able to have a home unmedicated delivery with the support of caring knowledgeable midwives, doulas and friends. Reading both the science and the lovely stories eased my mind tremendously. After reading Birthing Normally, I believe that my daughter should be able, God willing, to vaginally birth my grandson come November. I am so grateful to have found this reassuring book. I highly recommend it for all moms considering a VBAC and for their worried Moms.

Perfect for moms Who are planning a VBAC
After having had a c-section for my first child, I knew that I wanted to attempt to VBAC for my second...which I have not yet concieved. This book has helped me get over some of the fearful thoughts that I had about uterine rupture and also is a perfect book for statistics you can take to your doctor who may not have the understanding into the risks of VBAC verses section.

Very informative
This book has a lot of great information about VBAC's. And really great stories of other VBAC's. I bought it so I could be fully informed about VBAC's since I was going to have one in a hospital. I would recommend this book to anyone who will be having one. Even for midwives and doulas.

A must-read for all VBAC moms
I highly recommend Helene Vadeboncoeur's book to mothers who are planning a VBAC and their partners. Her style is at once scholarly and conversational. While reading, I had the sense that I was gleaning inside information and advice from a sympathetic friend who just happened to be an expert in the field. The author references a wide array of scientific articles and research studies which overall support the theory that a vaginal birth after 1 or 2 caesarean sections is a safe, reasonable and healthy choice for many (probably most) women. This impressively and thoroughly researched book does not read like a textbook, however, and it's great to see that the emotional aspects of making the choice between VBAC and ERCS are not neglected. While the need to establish VBAC safety and the probability of success is fulfilled, the mother's emotional context of pregnancy, birthing and becoming a mother is also explored in-depth, making this book a balanced and highly readable work. The author shares intimate details about her own births as well as a variety of VBAC and VBA2C birth stories collected from other women. Reading the stories in the mothers' own words is powerful and encouraging. It helps to put the reader at ease and realize that so many millions of women are going through the same thing they are. Vadeboncoeur even provides a how-to guide, explaining concrete steps a mother can take to maximize her chances of getting the safe, healthy, normal birth every mother and child deserve. Well worth the money. I have returned to this book again and again for encouragement, statistics and inspiration. Thanks, Ms. Vadeboncoeur!Once a Caesarean, Always a Choicehttp://choosevba2c.blogspot.ie

Great vbac book, worth the wait and money
This book was outstanding and I loved all the birth frames in it. After reading it cover to cover, I feel like I came away validated and optimistic. The only weak point is this book were the meditations and some of the interior graphics were low quality, but definitely worth buying over and over. My midwifery centre recommended this book and I can't stop praising it.
