Need a replacement for your battery backup for your garage door opener? This is an easy plug and play option. A couple of screws, pop open a door remove the wires from the dead battery, replace the dead battery, plug it in and replace the screws and you are good to go! Much cheaper through Amazon than Lowe’s or Home Depot.

This battery is being used for our home alarm system and if I had the alarm company install it their battery was double the price. So far the battery has worked flawlessly and no issues whatsoever. Very pleased with purchase!

SYSTEM LO BAT chime on my house security alarm was driving me "batty." No rhyme or reason as to when it would sound off — middle of night, daytime, meh — so called the alarm company about my problem. "You need a new battery on your system; $85 + $149/hour technician charge since you're not on the plan." With tax, that would be $250. Went to the alarm box (basement), snapped a cell phone pic of the old battery in the system and then went online to Amazon. Found the exact replacement (except it now has the ISO9001 cert, and not the discontinued/obsolete ISO9002 cert) Ordered this UltraTech UT-1240 12V, 4.5Ah Sealed Lead Acid Alarm Battery UT1240 ISO9001 from Zbeem, $18.49, and ordered nothing else. (the price included Free Shipping, btw.) I ordered it on Saturday and knew that the order would not be handled until Monday. Expected delivery window was the following Thursday to the Monday thereafter. Battery arrived at my house at 4:05 pm Tuesday; two days ahead of schedule. Unboxed it, measured its voltage, and it read 13.5V on the multimeter. Went to the alarm box, disconnected the red wire and then the black wire, on the old battery. (Did not touch or unplug anything else; kept the system "live.") Removed the old battery from the alarm box, removed the shipping-protective-plastic clips from the new battery, placed it in the alarm box, and connected the red wire to the red terminal and then connected the black wire to the black terminal. Closed the alarm box. Done. Time: 4:20 pm. Measured the voltage on the old battery and it read 11.5V on the multimeter. That low voltage was why it was giving me the SYSTEM LO BAT display. The old battery had been working fine for about 7 years, and that included a power outage from hurricane Sandy that it endured for a week. (I suppose it went dead then; can't remember. But it charged right back up when power to the house came back on a week later.) Went to the front-door control pad and looked at it, now with the new battery installed. It still read SYSTEM LO BAT. I looked more carefully at the options on the door of the control pad and a Test System (code + 5) was available. So, I did that, I typed in the code and then 5. It beeped. Then around 30 seconds later it beeped again, and the display then showed: ****DISARMED**** READY TO ARM The SYSTEM LO BAT was no longer displayed. Now, just have to find a place to recycle this old SLA 12V battery.

Not much to know. Does the job. Replaced 2 batteries for alarm system and this was exact fit. As described with quick shipping.
