Worst Strap Ever!
Despite the glowing reviews, this is the worst camera strap I've ever owned. It's poorly designed. I've used the strap now for 2 1/2 years. I wasn't impressed with it when I got it and realized some problems right off.1) The shoulder pad does not use rubber! It keeps sliding off my shoulder. It uses vented nylon instead of rubber. They designed the strap to be worn "tourist style" around your neck, instead of "shooter" style which is over one shoulder. It keeps sliding off my shoulder even when I'm walking around. I have to hang on to the camera and keep pulling the strap down against my shoulder to keep it from falling off. It's one more thing I have to worry about instead of concentrating on getting great shots.2) The strap is too short. I'm 6'1" and the strap specs say it's max length is 56.4". But the way it has to be fastened to the camera it's only 52". It's too short for me, when using slung over one shoulder. If you want to use it cross chest for security it's going to be way too short.3) The strap is too narrow. The strap keeps twisting due to the wires in it. And since it's so narrow, I can't tell if it's twisted or not. I have to keep holding the camera out and pull on the shoulder padding end to straighten it out. The problem with it twisting is that, when I put it on my shoulder and it's twisted, the camera ends up in a strange position and not oriented correctly. I need the camera to hang from my shoulder the same way every time for consistency.4) The wires in the strap have memory. They end up twisted and you can't straighten them out. You can pull on the strap to straighten the wires, but the wires will still be twisted. The wires have memory and end up twisted through regular use, so there's nothing you can do about it.5) The part that attaches to your camera is not slash proof. It's regular nylon webbing. The strap with the wire in it then attaches to this webbing.6) The part that attaches to the camera keeps slipping. It uses a standard slider that doesn't hold the strap. After every shoot, I have to readjust it. Because a few times, the ends were very close to slipping off through the slider, and then the camera would fall.7) There's are metal clips which attach the strap to the part that attaches to the camera. Because the part that attaches to the camera is not slash proof, the put a sliding nylon cover over it. The problem is that the metal clips can open without your knowing it, and the camera come off.The bottom line: This is a poorly designed product that wasn't tested by real photographers. It's not a strap that you can put on your camera and forget about it. The shoulder padding keeps slipping off, which is a constant pain. The part that attaches to the camera keeps slipping and twisting. The strap will become twisted due to the metal wires and it will be a constant battle to keep it straightened out. The clips that attach to the part that attaches to the camera can open without your knowing about it. The bottom line is that this is camera strap that you have to keep fiddling with constantly. It's not the kind where you can attach to your camera and forget about it. After 2 1/2 years of constant fiddling with the strap on shoots, I finally went back to the Canon strap that came with the camera. Using this strap was total aggravation.

Very happy. Wanted another one and read the negative reviews
Bought one several years ago. No problems. Works as advertised. Very happy. Wanted another one and read the negative reviews. The problem with the webbing portion (splitting apart at the stitched seam) is a legitimate concern even though I've never had a problem even with heavy gear - Nikon D300s with Nikon AF-S 70-200 VR 2.8. Fortunately, this potential problem is easily fixed. I bought some 1/16th inch diameter braided stainless cable and some 1/16th crushable aluminum ferrules at a local big box hardware store. I spent less than $5.00. I basically made two loops in the shape of a letter B. Two ferrules hold the ends together in the middle. One loop of the wire goes through the webbing loop between the plastic buckle and the camera and the other loop of the wire goes over the locking metal hook along side the plastic eyelet. (Route the wire before you crush the ferrules.) I wrapped the ferrules with a short piece of black electrical tape to cover any sharp edges. It lays flat - especially if you route the wire underneath the buckle - with the webbing and finally the sliding cloth sleeve hides it all. If the webbing tears at the stitching or the plastic eyelet breaks, the wire cable will still hold. YES I KNOW! I shouldn't have to do this but I like the strap (4 stars) and it took me 30 minutes tops. I have yet to find a better, more secure camera strap so I bought a second strap and made wire loops for it too. Here's a bonus, the Pacsafe camera strap doesn't have large letters advertising "NIKON" or CANON." Photos included.

Decent Strap to prevent Pick-pockets!
This product was perfect for my Euro Trip to London and Paris. The Strap works as described. I enjoyed the comfort of knowing the strap could not be cut from behind. We stopped at the Changing of the Guard at Buckingham Palace, which was packed with hundreds of people.I could see how it was easy for Pick-Pockets to steal objects in that environment. With this strap I was not afraid to have my camera out in the densely populated area. Would highly recommend! My only two complaints are:1. The clips (bottom of the strap) have plastic locks on them that you rotate to allow you to lock/unlock the clip. The locks are little pieces of plastic. I was able to rotate the lock in a way that it didn't click into place. I think they could improve this lock if it were metal (same as the clip). I could see this breaking very easily. *See Attached Image for Lock*2. The strap is very stiff (Unlike the Nikon strap I was am use to).The strap can be a little awkward to work with at times and uncomfortable.

I traveled with one, and now I own two of these straps.
I've just returned from a three week trip in Egypt. I started out with just one of these straps to switch between my shoulder bag and my camera as needed. Both uses went without a hitch. I needed this for my camera because its original equipment strap lost its retainer loop during the trip, and if timing had been worse, my camera would have dropped and hit the concrete. No device is going to slip from this strap. It was secure and comfortable with both my two pound camera and my 20 pound day bag. The length is adjustable and I had to shorten the strap for a comfortable ride. The attachment clips are easy to deal with and I appreciate the lock feature, which is easy to use. The connections don't rattle against the camera. Now I own two of these; one for my camera and one for my gear bag. They remove the worry that crooks in touristy places will successfully cut a strap and make off with my gear. Over the years, I've been amazed at how skillful thieves can be when it's their profession to take your gear and money. This strap adds security. Not enough to guarantee perfect safety, but enough to add a sense of security.

Well made, secure, great for piece of mind
I've now used this on 2 different cameras (A Panasonic DMC-FZ45 and Nikon D5100), so here are my thoughts after a few months of good use on both. The build quality of this strap is great and has a reassuring thickness to it, without feeling too heavy or overly bulky. As others have said it's not as flexible as a stock strap, so packing it into a bag isn't as easy, though not impossible, just a little creative coiling is needed. And unlike a stock strap there's no obvious branding, unlike my 2 stock straps that scream "LUMIX"!!! and "NIKON"!!! to the world. The neoprene sleeves are good, covering the exposed metal clips and thinner nylon connectors well, but they add a little bulk. Being closest to the camera body these tend to get in the way of the camera the most, but you get used to them after a while. One thing I like about this strap (besides the security aspect) is the ability to adjust the length from short (to wear on one shoulder or over the neck) to really long (to wear over the shoulder like a sling). The free-moving padded section is soft with a grippy rubber underside, which doesn't slip when wearing on one shoulder. It could have been a little wider to help spread the weight of heavier camera setups but that probably would have just made the strap really bulky. It also sometimes ends up sliding down to my back when worn as a sling as I bring the camera up to my eye and bring it back down to my side, but that's really a minor annoyance. When using it on my Panasonic I connected the nylon connectors with the included chrome split rings, as the slots for the strap were just too narrow (the nylon connectors are approximately 13mm wide and 2mm thick). On my Nikon I tried the split rings but abandoned that idea after less than a day when I noticed that the weight of the camera caused some flaking of the rings as they rubbed against the strap holes (the rings are actually copper underneath). DSLR and fine metal flakes = an absolute No-No! The connectors are just a tiny bit snug on the D5100 strap holes and the nylon has started to wear slightly on the edges. However they are so dense and well made that I don't feel like they'll rip apart or wear down completely, at least with normal everyday use.The reassurance this strap gives you is great. It feels good with a small bridge/superzoom camera, and also quite secure when carrying a weightier mid-range DSLR. Okay, so if someone _really_ wants your camera and they threaten you with a knife then this strap won't help, but that's not the point. Maybe you're distracted for a second, maybe you're in a crowded area being jostled about. This would stop a would-be thief cutting through your strap from behind you, or an opportunist from easily unclipping a cheaper exposed plastic buckled strap. It does its job as a strap and deterrant and does it well.

Peace of mind when travelling
Bought this strap after reading many reviews and before an upcoming trip to a place notorious for pick-pocketing and street crime. I like the fact that the strap is inconspicuous (no branding advertising my camera make/model) and the sense of security the cables reinforcing the strap. The neck pad is very comfortable, much more than the original Nikon strap, and also makes the camera feel much lighter around my neck. The neck pad also stays in place, whilst allowing the strap to travel freely through it. The strap is slightly stiff due, but does not affect taking pictures in either portrait or landscape orientation. Overall, the CarrySafe 100 is excellent value for money, I would definitely buy it again and recommend it to a friend. It would have deserved 5 stars if it could improve on the following:The main strap attaches to the camera via a secure clasp (which locks into place) to a smaller nylon strap (which attaches to the camera). This smaller nylon strap has an integrated plastic ring/attachment at the end with a small keyring attached, and the clasp of the main strap attaches to this small keyring. The plastic ring appears to be good quality, but I am uncomfortable attaching my camera and lens to this potential kink in the armor. A workaround is to bypass the plastic ring and attach the small keyring directly to the nylon strap.Better yet, the strap is long enough to be used as a shoulder sling strap, and would have been perfect as such if it was designed to attach via the standard tripod screw at the bottom of the camera, especially when carrying around a heavy pro camera with prime lens. Nonetheless, the strap is versatile enough for me to come up with a suitable solution, and at only a 1/4 of the the price of a Joby Pro or Black Rapid, the Pacsafe CarrySafe 100 is a no-brainer for anyone looking for secure, comfortable and non-slip neck strap.

Superb product !
I bought this strap for my Nikon D5100 and am very pleased with it indeed. I was worried about it being too heavy, but its weight seems absolutely fine to me. It is a bit stiffer than an ordinary strap, but I soon got used to it. The stiffness isn't a problem when using it, but it makes it a bit awkward when packing the camera in a bag - it's easy enough to coil up though. What I particularly like about it are the thin neoprene sleeves which cover the metal clips, thus rendering them less prone to tampering but also prevent the metal parts from damaging the camera. The underside of the padded section is covered with a high-friction 'rubber' material that really is superbly non-slip.I especially like the way the strap slides freely through the padded section, so that when the camera is slung around my neck camera movements don't result in any tugging the back of my neck. This makes wearing the strap around my neck, or over my shoulder, very comfortable. The camera feels nice and secure when the strap is slung over my shoulder. This product is both very functional and of high quality - excellent value for money. I can recommend it most highly. I have been so impressed by it that I have ordered a similar Pacsafe CarrySafe 300 Lockable Shoulder Strap for my Lowepro Stealth D100 AW Shoulder Bag For Digital SLR & 1-2 Lenses for Canon 450D, 1000D,500D, Nikon D3000, D5000,D90, Sony Alpha DLSR Range and Panasonic G1 Series - Black . Great camera strap
I bought this camera strap with a view to it being more secure than the original that came with our Canon EOS 600D. It certainly seems to be well constructed and I feel much safer with it on the camera although it hasn't been put to the ultimate test and I hope it won't be! A big bonus, for me, is that its much more comfortable than the original strap. I have long hair and found that the original would catch on my hair because of the rubber which was meant to stop it slipping. This strap doesn't slip around, but it uses a different construction which means its not always catching on my hair. The strap is also slightly narrower which I again find more comfortable. I'm very happy with the strap and would have paid a lot more for it given how comfortable and secure it is!

Does what it say and what you need
This is a great strap, made with thought for it's intended purpose. I have now had it a few years and I am still happy with it. I have been a Pacsafe fan for some years. This is strong enough for a heavy camera but if you are carrying a really heavy camera and lens you may want something wider as it is not intended for the specialist sized lens camera combo. If you are carrying a larger than average camera this will be perfect, it may be a bit over the top for a standard compact.
