Sony DPF-D710 7-Inch WVGA LCD (16:10) Digital Photo Frame (Black)

I started looking at digital picture frames 4 or 5 years ago, back when they were $200+. They've come down a lot since them thankfully so it was time to start looking again. This Sony frame is great, I am really impressed and happy with it. I'll list what I like as follows:* It gives you about a 4x6 size photo, somewhat small but effective.* The 16:9 resolution is outstanding, even better than my computer monitor.* The biggest surprise was how much the backlit screen makes pictures pop, vivid colors and excellent picture depth.* Easy operation, the menu is easy to understand and manipulate. Granted for those that have never touched a computer or modern technology, they'll need help.* I really like the options for memory, it has a slot for a SD card as well as USB. I use one of the dozons of smaller USB sticks I have laying around that just aren't much use these days as they're only 256MB but they work perfect for this.All in all I'm really happy with this purchase and this Sony picture frame. The price was right and the functionality and operation are outstanding.

I bought two of these as a gift and when I took out of the box to save some photos for my family i was shocked of how Small the frame is. I took a measuring tape and measured it and its not even 7" for the picture screen (are they counting the black frame around??) I thought i could be mistaken so I brought my Archos Tablet which is 7" and I saw there is a big difference, Archos screen is big and full 7" but the Sony for the first time I see them misleading people. If I weren't late and needed the gift I would have returned them.

Should not have bought this item. There were a number of reviews saying it displayed "?" and wouldn't how pictures and poor Sony support. Ditto. Tried to call Sony. Not a toll free number and on hold for 15 minutes and finally cut off. At first probably 25% of the pictures wouldn't display. Researched it on the internet. Lots of people had this problem. Suggestion was to rename pictures in the Sony camera format. Did that and 75% wouldn't display. All pictures taken with my camera or by daughter-in-law. They displayed fine on 2 previous digital frames, on the computer and TV. Gave up and returned it.

Nice but short-lived. We have had this frame for about five years, and it just plain stopped working. It tries to boot up and flashes the logo screen for a fraction of a second and then blacks out and cycles again.. And again... And again... Endlessly. It's in the E-waste bin now. Ouch.

This product is good, just as its description. I am suprised that it has foreign language system. However, it regrettable that it wasn't able to play background music.Overall, I still recommend to buy it.

Very pleased with the price and quality of this photo frame/photo viewer. It takes a variety of media, has sufficient memory, and the included remote control allows you to access the viewer's functions without having to rely on the tiny buttons that are located awkwardly on the top of the viewer, but behind the screen. So far I've used a flash drive and two different kinds of media cards to show photos. The viewer is versatile, but user-friendly, a big plus for me. Quality of the photos is very nice. This item is a great value and a handy way to view photos easily without a computer.

This frame is small and just okay. While i was waiting for it to arrive I happened to be at Staples and found one that was bigger and much cheaper. I did not return this one because I needed it for a gift anyway but I would not buy it again since I found the one in Staples for like $50.

I gave this as a birthday present to my wife. She's computer literate but not overly savvy in figuring out "techie items." I was pleasantly surprised to find all the features/menus very user friendly. She had the picture frame up and running in minutes and lots of pics of our grandson showing. Then, she really also liked the simple, stylish clock face she could switch to. All in all, we are very very pleased. This product is just great! PS We purchased a larger frame from an "unknown" manufacturer several years ago and it has fallen into disuse as it was very cumbersome to configure and use. There may be less expensive dpf's on the market (but this was a great price, too), Sony has proven again why often times, though, you get what you pay for!
