Well written, but marred by errors and compromised integrity
The book overall is very well written and easy to understand. Fasulo is obviously an expert on the UN and this iteration of her book reaffirms her expertise. However, I was disappointed to find that she compromised her journalistic integrity by receiving money from Ted Turner to write this book. In addition, it is disturbing to see her make major factual errors in it. One is calling Jim Yong Kim, president of the World Bank, a Korean and decidedly "not an American", as past presidents of the World Bank have been. Although Kim was born in Korea, he is an American citizen, was raised and educated in the U.S., and was nominated by President Obama himself to be the U.S. candidate for the World Bank presidency. Therefore, Jim Yong Kim is an American in all respects relevant to his position. It is disappointing to see that Fasulo's exposure to the diversity of the UN has not been able to help her overlook Kim's nationality and see only his surface-level ethnicity.
