TL;DR My puppy would get fussy when it was time to sleep and when I pull this out, she's sleeping within a minute. I love that the cooling technology is water and ice. Pros: - stays cool a moderate amount of time - you can order the ice refill to keep more on hand or replace (and they're relatively cheap) - seems durable - more comfortable than the floor Cons - ice inserts take up a bit of room in the freezer - would be nice if it could somehow stay cooler longer or freeze faster - my puppy is now spoiled and will not sleep on anything else Edit/note about plastic inserts breaking: I originally had the mats in my side-by-side fridge/freezer and had to fold them for them to fit. I had some breakage. But nos I've put the ice mats in my chest freezer and froze them flat, I have had ZERO breakage! Long version: my newish puppy would find cool spots on our laminate to fall asleep on. After a few minutes, she'd get up and find a new spot because it wasn't cold anymore. She would grumble to herself as she got up and plopped to a new spot. She found out that our bathroom tile is nice and cool and would take naps there, but we wanted her to be out in the main room with us. I found other products that used gel cooling technology that claimed to be nontoxic, but after reading scary reviews of dogs eating it and having neurological reactions, I quickly looked for something safer. I stumbled upon this and ordered it immediately. After using it for several days, my puppy is now spoiled and won't sleep on anything else. She will literally grumble/whine and wander around when she wants to take a nap until I get it out. I don't mind spoiling her though. It's nice when it's bedtime for both her and us humans because I can get it out and she will plop down on it and be asleep within minutes. It stays cool for a reasonable amount of time. I haven't timed it, but I'd say it's about 3 or 4 hours. She has tried chewing it and I try to catch her and stop her when she does. As of yet, she hasn't chewed through it. She also sometimes scratches it a bunch before she lies down. No tears either. I'm pretty satisfied. I ordered the double, because she's going to be a big dog, but for now, just the one works. (She's about 25lbs) I also ordered more inserts to be able to have more frozen ones on hand. I know they priced way past their cost, but they are still reasonably cheap.

Very cool, wet from condensation but that’s ok, dog usually jumps in water anyway. Instead of getting additional ice cube pads I got some thin small blue ice packs to extend the cool period. Using it in Florida heat and humidity. It stays cold for 6 hours, maybe more but that’s all I need. It is durable. One panel was large enough for my smooth collie.

In the past we’ve had the gel cooling pads that really didn’t do much for our dogs and nor did they like it. This cooling pad is the real deal. It gets really cold: we put it in a flannel pillow case as a cover. Our dog loves it and gets excited when we bring it to her bed at night. We bought the extra inserts so we can rotate them as needed. The blue cover is good quality and durable. We’ve washed it several times already.

My dog has Cushing's which is syndrome that affects the adrenal glands. As a result and one symptom is that she gets hot and searches out cool floors. She seema to be getting stiff from always laying on the hard wood floors or tile. I bought a standard cool pad but it wasn't enough so I saw this and tried. Although she still seems to favor the floor, we're moving closer to acceptance. It's still new to her so I may add more comments later but so far so good. She seems quite comfort and lays on it longer each time. There's an owner learning cycle here too so as I more fully understand how this works for her I'm more appreciative of the pad. I just ordered and extra ice insert which will help me ensure the cool spot for her. It fits into a standard sized bed which I also appreciate because it allows it to look like part of the decor in the living room. Great instructings, easy and quick to assemble and great quality. She doesn't chew so no issue but the pad exterior seems really heavy duty. So far this cool pad seems like a breakthrough for her. It should help with inflammation and provide a safe, supportive, comfortable and cool spot to relax and nap. She's a 23 pound of Japanese Chin/Jack Russell mix and is 13 years young with plenty of energy so as she moves into her senior years I hope to make them as pain free and enjoyable as possible.

This is one of the best things I have bought on Amazon. With stuff like this, you never know quite how it will work out. The gamble was worth it. I use this when I am going to have my dog in the car in weather that is iffy (eg. 80s). I have two of the large size beds which would completely cover the floor of the dog's crate (though I only use one at a time). I put one of the beds in the crate and one on top of the crate to absorb heat from outside. This set-up keeps my pup really comfortable. (The first time I used them, I put both beds in the bottom of the crate so the whole bottom of the create was covered and also put an extra ice pack top of the crate. The poor guy. When I got back to the car, he was shivering and wet. I live in a humid climate and the ice on top of the crate had begun dripping cold water from condensation, and the entire bottom of the crate was ice bed. So now I only put one of the beds in bottom of the crate (which covers half of the bottom of the crate) so he can move off and on the ice bed to adjust his temperature). I am careful -- I would not use this in the 90s, especially if I have to park in the sun, but it is really useful for hot, but not insanely hot days. I bought two extra ice sheets and keep them in a cooler in the car so that as the ice sheet in the crate melts, I can put in a fresh one. The spare ice sheets also keeps my drinks and lunch cold (I drive a lot for my job). Eventually the bubbles in the ice sheet start to leak-- I have used these beds for two spring-summer-fall seasons and about 1/4-1/3 of the bubbles have leaked, so I need to get new sheets for next year. The beds themselves stand up to lots of scratching (the pup always wants to arrange things properly). Extra benefit: for ladies with hot flashes, you can use them to cool down! All in all a really great product.

i bought this when i didn’t have a/c and my foster pups needed some coolness. they immediately found this pad in the pen and slept on it the whole time. i did change out the ice pad halfway thru the day. really appreciated having this product. a real lifesaver in this awful heat.

I have an 11 month old 44lbs goldendoodle who doesn’t tolerate heat and has anxiety. He wasn’t sure what to think about the mat at first. I had to give him treats and encouraged him to lay on it. After about a week, he figured out the value of the mat on his own. Now we can’t live without out it. I have three sets of ice and we rotate them day and night. Not only does it help him cool by off, but it has become a way to help him manage his anxiety. I think the cool sensation helps him relax. He just took it to boarding and the trainer said he is laying on it all the time. I don’t usually write Amazon reviews but this is the most amazing thing I have ever ordered! I will add that my puppy prefers hard flat surfaces to fluffy beds. I’ll also add that two squares seems a little small but gets the job done. There is always some part of him hanging off the mat a bit. I could add two more but that would be a lot of ice to manage so I will keep it to two squares.

After trying SO many "cooling" mats, this is the only one that actually works...and that my doggie loves. Coming back to by more and refills.

Cooling effect by freezing the water pack is not suitable for humid country like Singapore. Not viable as there is lot of condensation on the bed (pic). Otherwise quality is not bad, slight cooling effect with the water pads but not cooler than my marble floor. Sad as i really wanted it to work for my furkid. Manufacturer should also consider to make it bigger, as the size is awkward for typical mid size dog (getting 2 would be odd and too big).

My dogs learned quickly that these mats provide relief from the heat. They get cold and so I’ve put a little blanket on top for comfort. In the photos I’m using two pads next yo each other. I’ll be getting a third as soon as it comes back in stock, along with some spare ice inserts for quick changes. Don’t get me wrong, they do last a few hours before they need changing and don’t take long to freeze. It was 32 degrees when I took these photos, yet the dogs were comfortable and not even panting. As a matter of fact one of the dogs decided to lay out in the sun for a while to warm up! I recommend this product!

This is the best pet product out there. As someone in Australia, this is amazing. Like, next-level amazing. I have a moodle and a schnauzer, and the schnoz gets hot fast. Regular gel pads get warm after 10-20 minutes, tops. This pad stay cool for 8-10 hours. You just need a freezer. I'll attach pics of my pupperonies using it in some way. Love your work, guys. This made a huge difference to a double coated dogs life. I bought this product out of desperation expecting this to end up not being used like the other cooling mates I have purchased. This one actually works!!! I am in Australia with a double coated tamaruke that overheats once it hits 24 degrees Celsius. We have had quite a few 40 degree days in a row and for once my dog is comfortable and able to enjoy being outside. I take this mat and the cooler sheets every where we go. Only mat on the market that works
