A Tale of Two Scissors
I got sick of having kitchen scissors that were worthless. I did a bit of research and ordered 2 different pairs simultaneously. The Titan Elite Industrial Grade Heavy Duty Scissor (Amazon ASIN: B0046EBW1C, Item model number: D50004) for $12.89 and the Kitchenaid Classic Shears With Soft Grip. They both were received from Amazon in the same package. I have fairly large hands. I don't eat meat all that often - for my purposes, I would put these to use doing things like cutting thick flower stems (example: gladiolas, sunflowers, etc), opening other packages, cutting carpet, cardboard, zip ties, etc.Initial impressions:The Titan Elite is the heavier duty of the two and - for those who might care - it's precise enough when cutting that it cuts paper and thin plastic without making that "nib" or break at the end of the cut - a totally clean cut. As far as cutting motion, it's a bit "sticky". I would think if you are going to cut meat bones on a regular basis, I would give the Titan the nod for long term durability but you won't see the difference unless you are in a constant heavy use situation. For carpet, I might prefer the Titan over the Kitchen-Aid (below). The Titan Elites are not over packaged, you can get to them easily. VS.The KitchenAid Classic Shears (Amazon ASIN: B0050U240O , Item model number: KC351OHOBA). Fit my large hands better, immediately way more comfortable. No stickiness as far as blade action. Seemed a * bit * more nimble to steer the nose of it. These will probably be my first choice for all but the largest jobs. Also at $8.41 they cost 1/3 less than the Titan Elites.MY ONE MINOR RANT re the Kitchen Aid: They have the most diabolical over packaging (heavy duty, stamp-sealed/fused clear plastic, cardstock and zip ties). Usually I can blow this off but not in this case. I had to use the Titan Elites to open the Kitchen Aid package! ... and even then it was a fight. I wasted 5 minutes on that. Dear Kitchen Aid: Stop over packaging these scissors! You are not building a safe house or the Maginot line! - let people get to your product! RANT OVER.SUMMARY: They are both good and priced fairly. I lean to towards the Kitchen Aid but will keep and use both of them. From looking at them I estimate these to have 5 - 7 year durability for my purposes. That is fine with me._________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________UPDATE: Jan 3rd, 2015 I liked the Kitchen Aid scissors SO much I purchased 2 more: 1 for by the washer/dryer in basement and 2nd one for other side of kitchen. I also purchased YET ANOTHER 2 for relatives as Christmas swag. They are that good. I find that they are my "go to" scissors, I use them all the time. They have replaced regular scissors for most tasks in our home. The nose/tip on them is very precise.

Surprised Me For The Low price
Our old kitchen scissors finally wore out after almost 10 years. They began to get hard to open and close and I took them apart and found the center nut was corroded and beyond fixing. This was due to my wife throwing them in the dishwasher every week for many years. I began shopping for a new pair and immediately leaned toward the higher end brands. I began reading reviews all over the internet and one thing I found funny was that most reviews of kitchen scissors always mentioned in the budget category this KitchenAid brand. I looked them up on Amazon and at the time I purchased them the price was $7.19 with over 18,000 positive reviews. I was like wow that's a lot of love for a bargain bin price! So, I figured if I didn't like them, I'd just toss em out and no big loss. Well as you can guess they arrived and I immediately began testing them out. Nothing in my kitchen was safe lol. I cut veggies, sausage, cardboard, zip ties, chip bags, etc. They worked flawlessly and were super sharp. They have a very good feel, easy to grip and cut slippery items and go through meat and small bone very easily. They are so budget friendly that if we toss them in the dishwasher I don't feel bad. For a little over 7 bucks you just grab a new pair every couple of years if you want. These are 100% worth the money so if your on the fence don't hesitate. I don't get paid to do reviews so if I leave one, it's cause I took time out of my day to do so.

This is my 3rd pair!!
I bought a pair of these Kitchenaid shears about a year ago and always regretted that I did not order more than one pair! I am over 60 years old and in my life time I have never came across scissors that are as good as these kitchen shears. They will cut just about anything. I use to hate buying meats that had a lot of fat or skin that you had to cut off because it would take me so long to do it with a knief or with other kitchen scissors--but not with these kitchen scissors--they are so sharp that the fat/skin comes off quickly as opposed to using other kitchen aids to do this tedious job. Not only that, but they are very precise--it is so easy to cut off fat that seems to be buried in the meat, that you would normally have to leave alone. So far I have not found any meat that these scissors would not cut through. I also use them to quickly cut up strips of chicken and strips of beef with ease.I have found other uses for these scissor and not just for in the kitchen. I order items from Amazon all the time and most everything I get comes in those frustrating sealed plastic packages--which is almost impossible to get into, plus, the plastic cuts your hands when you try to get the plastic open. But not with these scissors, they cut right through the hard plastic and exactly where you want to cut. Now I am no longer frustrated by these sealed plastic packages. I have also used them to help open cardboard boxes that are sealed. One other thing, and it is not something I would normally do, but I even used them the other day to cut off a finger nail. I had a snagged fingernail and could not find my nail clippers. I was tired of that nail getting caught on everything I touched, so I tried cutting it off with these Kitchenaid sheers--no problem, cut them off and without a problem. Now I would not use these shears for this purpose normally, and don't plan to make this a routine, but they sure came in handy when my clippers could not be found. There is only one word of warning I want to give to you. These Kitchenaid Shears are super sharp--so easy to cut your hand or fingers when using them, so be very careful when you use them. But if they were not so sharp, then they couldn't cut through the things that they do cut through.I finally was able to buy 2 more of these. Another seller was selling these same scissors but at a higher price and only for one pair. I was so glad to get these at such a bargain for 2 pair. I got tired of never having a clean pair every day to use. Once I use a pair for cutting up meat I spread them open and stick them in the top rack of my dishwasher--so they will be good and sterilized for the next time I use them. The dishwasher does not seem to do them any harm, they still look as good as the day I bought them. My problem is that I don't run my dishwasher until it is filled up and that takes at least 3 days--which means I don't have access to these scissors until I run the dishwasher. I really needed more than one pair so that I could have access to a pair every day because I use them practically every day.I am so happy that I now have 3 pair, buy at least one and try it out and you will probably do like I did and order other pairs!

Das ist Mal eine Schere
Genau so was braucht man in der Küche, alles andere ist Spielkram. Qualität stimmt auch, vielleicht etwas teuer, aber sonst, würde ich wieder kaufen.
