Purchased this to fit a small space next to our sofa. We bought it specifially because of the compartment for storing things out of the way. I read the reviews and was a bit concerned about the strong smell some people mentioned (I am really smell sensitive) and the fact that folks said parts needed to be worked on in order to get them to fit. The price was so darn reasonable that I went with it as I didn't have much to lose. The table arrived a couple of days ago (we ordered the expresso whose price keeps dropping since our purchase :( ) I inhaled deeply when I first opened the box just to make sure all was okay before I unpacked the parts. If there had been any smell I would have taped the box back up and returned it. There was nothing and put it together right away. To my pleasant surprise, all the parts fit beautifully and remarkably easily. The table looks great next to the sofa. The resident cats are thrilled that they now have yet another place to sit. They wasted no time checking out both the table's top as well as the lower shelf. Being cats, they are partial to the lower shelf. So I would imagine since my table was near perfect for the money but other people had all sorts of issues, that there are some quality control issues with this item. All I can say is that mine is great, but if yours has a smell or doesn't go together properly, return it and try again. The one odd thing is that they provide an allen wrench for putting this together. The allen wrench was not the best tool for the job in my opinion. Use a phillips screwdriver... your hands and fingers will thank you. BOTTOM LINE: The table I received was great... no dings, no smell, no parts that wouldn't fit. And they provide a marker (which I didn't need) for coloring in if there are any dings. I suspect the company has some quality control issues and that I got lucky. This is the perfect table for the corner we tucked it in to.

I was looking for a piece of furniture for an eXisting African altar I have with flowers and greeting cards among other things. I was looking for something to fit a specific space and size that will sit on a glass top. This was the right height and width and didn't exceed the depth that I needed as well. FIrst, the furniture pieces were very solid. They are made of part particle board with a very nice espresso (dark brown) color that is quite beautiful. The 7 pieces of furniture included in the box were packaged and reinforced very well. The 7 pieces along with the furniture hardware included were very easy-peasy to assemble! It took less than half an hour (maybe about 20 minutes, I guess) to put the whole thing together. I like to take my time. The instructions provided were VERY CLEAR and EASY to understand unlike some other furniture companies that have vague instructions, poor English instructions or no instructions at all. The only required tool you need is a phillips head screwdriver for the cambolts and to slightly rotate the cam locks. You might need a rubber mallet for the 8 furniture accent "plugs" to bang into place at the conclusion of building this furniture piece, but honestly, you can use your thumb or the bottom of an old hard shoe to bang the plugs into place if your thumb ins't strong enough. Overall, this is my first furniture piece form Convenience Concepts and I'd buy again if I ever needed something from them. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

PURCHASING REASON: I was looking for functional and aesthetic side table that had small width and had length of sofa. The side table is to be place next to sofa with heater ventilator so table cannot have drawer that may block the ventilation. The price was very reasonable. Modern American Heritage Flip Top End Table seemed to fit the criteria for purchasing. UNBOXING: The finished wood seemed to be elegant and well made. I was thrilled. INSTALLATION: All the installation instruction was smooth until the lower shelf installation. The lower shelf did not fit. I tried to every imaginable way of fitting the lower shelf and while unsuccessful fitting, I have scratched small portions of the leg. I realized at this time I realized I was at a point of no return. I had to use file and sand paper to fit the lower shelf. I did not use pencil or the glue that was provided. I used the rubber mallet for wood plugs. I am not professional installer but I could follow simple instructions so it was evident that manufacturer’s lack of quality control. CONCLUSION: Overall, I am happy with finished product. The table looks simple yet elegant and I really like the top shelf for storage for the remote controls. It is also perfectly sized. I would purchase this table again. However, due to the fact that lower shelf had to be modified, I am giving it four stars.

These appeared to be high quality. Easy to assemble. Would buy more.

EXCELLENT Chairside table! We bought two new large recliners and needed something in the middle to put drink and other stuff on etc. This thing matched our other furniture perfectly along with looking nice and having a cool little storage compartment for all the remotes, extra stuff. The height is perfect for tall large recliners, the width is perfect as well, not to wide and not to narrow, really just perfect. Pretty stable as well for being a tall narrow table. nice lower shelf to add some decor etc. I found the compartment was best accessed facing the backside of the chairs (not the front like you would think), also the side that open the hinges they use aren't just freely moving hinges, so when you open the side compartment shelf up, if you have the door straight up it will hold and not fall either way. That's nice so you can open it up, not knock stuff off place on the stationary side and you can access the compartment with just one hand. Very easy to assemble (only took about 10 mins.) the compartment only can be accessed from one side but yet the compartment goes all the way through to the other side as well for further back covered storage area (great for remotes and what not that you do not use or other stuff). For the price it can;t be beat .,... other tables locally were twice the price, this arrived in two days undamaged and worked PERFECT!!!! Do not hesitate to buy this for a table on the side of the chair, couch etc.

This little table is just perfect. It is sturdy and well finished. It assembled easily despite a small omission in the instructions which, by observing the parts provided, was overcome. I would buy it again.

I have to admit this LOOKS like real wood when assembled but aside from the veneers, there's not a scrap of solid wood involved here, at least that I could see. That makes the price a bit on high side in my view. Hence a lower rating than it might have received otherwise. I have purchased larger and even more solid real wood end tables on Amazon for a few bucks more. Also be aware the color is MUCH darker than depicted on the web site, almost black. Very dark. If you can live with all that, it's a nice-looking, sturdy piece of furniture. It all fits together well and is easy to assemble in a few minutes. A few screws and cams. Good for small spaces. All visible surfaces have a wood veneer, even the floor of the cubby underneath the flip top. That's good at least. It came packed well too, with no damage. But just in case there is a scratch or two, an included touch-up pencil of the proper color is included to take care of it. A nice touch. This one is made in China. No surprise there. Nearly all the Amazon furniture is made there or Vietnam.

I needed a bedside table with a little storage for my guest room. There wasn't a lot of space next to the bed without crowding the room. This table is very narrow, but has the nice addition of the lift of the front half of the lid so you can put something away if you need to like a phone or remote. It fits perfectly in the space, and the dark espresso color perfectly matches the bed frame in the room, which coincidently is the Zinus Faux Leather Classic Platform Bed Frame that I ordered also through Amazon. Plenty of room for a small lamp on the back half of the table that doesn't open, and I coupled it with a USB hub so that my guests can charge their devices at the bedside. You could, potentially drill a hole to run a cable in through the back of the table so you could charge in the compartment below. I didn't need that level of functionality but if it was in my every day bedroom, or next to a couch I might take the extra step. Very easy to assemble, I put it together in about 15 minutes. You do need a phillips head screw driver - it comes with an allen wrench but that doesn't fit all the screws. Arrived in great condition, no damage, all the parts are labeled. Lovely little table, feels very solid. Good product for the price. This is real wood, not pressboard, which doesn't typically hold up. If I ever need a similar small table for another area, I would absolutely get another.

Excellent table. It was pretty quick and easy to assemble. Looks great. I have been looking for a narrow end table for the small space at the end of my sofa. This is perfect.

La compré para el recibidor, pero me quedo chica. la moví al pasillo. Es una mesa bonita, práctica, con acabado fino. Se arma fácil, pero te recomiendo que sea entre dos. luce muy bien. viene bien empacada, sin rasguños de las partes. Sigue el instructivo, trae lo necesario para armarlo, excepto el desarmador. En 20 minutos ya estará lista. Lo único que NO me gusto es que "baila" de las patas (tal vez yo fui el culpable), razón por la cual tuve que ponerle unos accesorios en las patas. Otra cosa que no me gusto, es que trae unos plásticos para cubrir los huecos de los tornillos, pero se caen al ponerlos. La única solución es ponerles silicon. LA RECOMIENDO

Perfect beside our couch where there wasn’t enough room for a full size end table. Very sturdy...and wasn’t to difficult to put together. Looks great!

I assembled it with some frustration but completed it. It is not sturdy enough even when the screws are in as tight as they can go. I did not feel it was worth the price.

I like this table a lot. Small narrow table for between two chairs. I really like that the top flips up and I can store coasters, television remotes, etc. It would be great if both sides of the top lifted up but oh well. It came with all you need to put it together and a little wax pencil for any scuff marks. My table came with no marks but I used the pencil on another piece of furniture. I will probably get a second one for the end of my sofa.
