Very Sweet!
This is a lovely book, especially for a dog lover like myself. This little dog is forced to have an identity crisis when she "loses her job,"and then regains her confidence with a little help from a firefighting Dalmatian. A great lesson for kids, or anyone feeling insecurity, not to give up on yourself. Also the illustrations are very good.

Brave Girls Never Give Up!
Lucy Snigglefritz...I love the name and I think kids will love it too.I am a long-time proponent of Kindle books for kids.I read this digital book on a 7" Kindle screen. At first, the illustrations and print seemed very small. However, I discovered you can "drag" the image with your fingers and make it fill the entire screen (kids will probably figure this out much faster than I did.)Lucy Snigglefritz is a star performer in Amazing Avido's Circus. She is famous for her daring tricks and magnificent performances. As Lucy grows older, her popularity declines. She is eight years old and could no longer perform the "puppy tricks" she once did with ease. "You're not as young as you used to be," snarled Avido Padrone. "No one wants to see an old dog doing puppy tricks."Lucy is abandoned at the side of the road when the circus moves to their next destination. She is heartbroken.Lucy's future is not as bleak as it first appears. She wanders into a fire station and befriends Sooty, the fire dog. Lucy discovers her inner courage when she accompanies the fire fighters to a burning house.Lucy is a strong and lovable female character and the story is extremely entertaining. Even though Lucy is abandoned by her owner because of her age, she overcomes her difficulties and uses the skills she learned in the circus to save a stranded kitten in the house fire. This book touches on the following issues that children may want to think about: Animal abandonment and care. Age discrimination. Gender equality. Lucy proves that old dogs CAN do puppy tricks and much more!

Fun Pictures, Good Message
This is a cute picture book that will appeal to younger children. The illustrations are fun and have lots of personality. I like the idea of going on many adventures with Lucy Snigglefritz (catchy name, right?!) as she decides to find out what other things she might be good after being kicked out of the circus for being too old.First stop: the Fire Station. Lucy meets a new friend and goes on a fire fighting adventure. She overcomes her fear and gains courage and self confidence. Those are some good messages for kids! I also was happy to see a tiny bit of history thrown in! (I went and did some reading of my own on Dalmatians and Fire Stations) So there is an opportunity for more learning with your children if you were so inclined.Included in Kindle Unlimited Content: mild peril- I received a complimentary copy of this book from the author. All opinions expressed are my own.

Bravery and Cuteness
Cleanliness: Angel (Ages 2+ Topics to consider: abandonment and house fire.)The Adventures of Lucy Snigglefritz is the first book of two in Lucy's adventures.I love the name of the protagonist pup Lucy Snigglefritz. I think it's a fun name to sound out with kids. Lucy reminded me a lot of the dog from Bolt. The storyline was slightly similar. The pictures were adorable and had good detail. The one main mistake I saw was that two pages had the same words on it with a different picture. I don't know if this was just on my device or if it is a problem with the book itself. The author had quite a few important topics to teach kids. First, he showed the importance of firefighters in a very sweet way. He also taught how to overcome rejection, have courage, and get past your fears. Anyone can be a hero.~I was sent a free ecopy of this book from the author for an honest review~
