This book can be difficult, but with a study group, I am getting through it.
This book was recommended to me as a study aid for obtaining a professional genealogy certification. I had NEVER seen footnotes like the ones presented in this book. They are complex and compound. If I had tried to read this book without being a member of a study group, I would have put it at the bottom of my stack of books to read, and somehow I would never have reached the bottom of that stack. I am starting to get a handle on this style of footnotes, but BEWARE, you might put it at the bottom of your "to read" stack if you don't get some help.

Excellent reference - especially for anyone working towards certification from the Board for Certification of Genealogists. It is not a book that you work through quickly, but if you really want to understand what and how you are documenting, this is the book for you. Helps a great deal when you have a resource and there is no clear example of how to cite it as a source in your research. I would highly recommend this as a resource to anyone who wants to improve their knowledge of various types of documentation.

Genealogy
If you are thinking about becoming an accredited genealogist, you will need this book, along with others, for your reference library. I learned about how important it is to document your sources when you are researching your ancestors for yourself or for clients.

As always I am never disappointed in a Thomas Jones book. This book is a great guide for understanding the processes of documentation without all of the templates and extraneous information to totally confuse the subject. Thank you once again Thomas Jones for writing a wonderful book.
