Great engine
I liked the price compared to others. I pulled and older b&s off a gravely pro turn 60. This engine fit perfectly and did not have to change mounting holes. The recommended exhaust was a perfect match. Unlike previous reviews I saw, the 4 mounting holes were already threaded I believe 5/16 - 18. I tried a 5/16 bolt and it screwed in smoothly, a little loose, however a 8 mm had resistance so I played it safe and used 5/16. Fuel tank hose and vent hose reached with no problem 6 hole connector fit perfect and worked. There was no similar ground screw tapped hole on the engine so I used a triangular tapping screw off the old engine to connect two ground wires. Throttle cable fit perfect but needs dialed in yet. I have to self teach how to set it since no info comes with engine. Starter lug is in exact position as the older model and connected up so easy with plenty of room. Old pulley, spacer, and electric clutch with old washer and mounting bolt fit perfect. I removed the two screens on top of the engine to hold the shaft with a open end wrench when I tighten the electric clutch mounting bolt. I noticed the hydro drive pulley actually has a hex configuration on one side which would be an alternate way to tighten. Engine fired with no electrical problems. It sounds quieter than the older 25 hp B & S. I like this engine it really runs smooth. Pulling the old engine and replacing was super fast. I think 1 page of info could go a long way, but corporate decision make the normal backyard mechanic work a little harder. I did save a ton of money replacing the engine myself.

Installed in Ferris/Simplicity zero turn lawnmower
The media could not be loaded. NOT A SIMPLE DROP IN REPLACEMENT ENGINE!!If you’re just a garage mechanic on the weekends and plan on doing an install yourself into something with a different engine currently, I hope you know someone with alot of tools and knowledge. Mounting holes need to be tapped for the exhaust, no hardware is included and no instructions/schematics included. There’s a reason why this engine is $1000 cheaper than a comparable Kawasaki. The casting and brackets are EXTREMELY sharp and it’s easy to tell that cost savings was Briggs priority when designing this engine. WOT is actually at about 3/4 throttle due to the “auto choke” feature but besides all of that, it ran good and did the job it was designed to do for a fraction of the price to other brands.

So far so good
Nice packaging and shipment. Only thing is it Requires a choke and throttle cable combined. That wasn't clear on the information.

Great right out of the box
This is the update for the 49T877-0006-G1. Should know that the 49T877-0004-G1 is for motors with a separate choke control and the 49T877-0025-G1 is for applications with choke and throttle on same input. I used the motor on an older MTZ 61 Husqvarna zero turn mower and modified my controls to fit and the motors cuts like a dream. Very happy straightford application

Good quality for $$
Great product, ran perfect right out of the box. A little bit of throttle linkage problem from a conversion project, an issue that was expected.
