The handle grip is slightly smaller and thinner than the traditional style, but actually feels more comfortable in your hand. The ratcheting mechanism is smooth and sturdy. For its medium sized handle, it is heavier than it looks, due to the metal parts inside, which to me, speaks for itself about its durability, when compared to the other cheaper plastic ratchet screwdrivers. It holds standard 1/4" hex base bits. It did not come with any bits or extension adapters, only the ratcheting handle, which was fine by me, because I already have plenty of bits and adapters that I can use for it. The nice feature about this screwdriver that make it stand out from other models is that this one actually has a lock mechanism to actually lock the bit in place, instead of the popular magnetic grip that often fails to hold tight to the bit. To unlock the bit, pull the collar up, insert it withdraw the bit, then push the collar back down to lock the bit in place. The ratcheting feature has a knob (located just below the locking mechanism) that twists left and right to switch the rachet from clockwise to counterclockwise as needed. The center setting turns off the ratchet feature, so that you can use it as a manual screwdriver. I love, love, love this screwdriver! And I was surprised how hard it was to find! Many screwdrivers don't have a ratchet feature, and most of the ones that do, are cheap, flimsy, or of the magnetic grip style, which I find to be difficult to work with. I do think it might be nice if there were some options on this model, like a couple of different size handles to choose from, or the inclusion of an adapter or two, or some bits for those consumers who do not have those items already.

This is a high quality item that has become my tool of choice for hand driving when a powered driver is not appropriate for the task. Highly recommend for its functionality and fit in the hand. Very comfortable to use and accommodates all varieties of 1/4" bits and extensions that I own.

I need a ratcheting 1/4 hex bit driver. I've bought a couple of others, but they just hold the bit in by a weak magnet, so the bit is falling out a lot & won't hold at all on some alloy bits. I had to look a lot on Amazon to find a ratcheting driver with a positve lock chuck. This one fills the bill perfectly. Ratchet woks great in either direction, shape of handle gives a good grip & it won't roll around on an uneven surface. Good, easy,, spring loaded bit chuck that holds the bit well until yor release it. Seems very good quality.

Great looking and great feeling tool. Had to tighten down hose clamps really hard. This tool took 100% of my force and worked exactly as it should. Locks the bits in place so they don't fall out. I wish I had spent the money on one like this a long time ago.

4 1/2 stars I needed a ratcheting screwdriver to replace an old worn out cheapy model (a well intentioned gift) and spent many days deliberating and researching. I knew that I was not going to go down the same ten bucks or less road, since the quality in this range is severely lacking. I was initially sold on the 60 tooth ratchet of the Wera brand and it certainly is smooth and seems very solid. Wera claim a 50Nm (approx 37 ft lbs)capability with their ratchet screwdrivers and this unit feels well built enough to live up to that. I almost opted for the Wera KK 27 "James Bond" ratcheting screwdriver since it comes with 6 self-contained driver bits and a fixed magnetic bitholder WERA Tools (WER05073661002) KK 27 RA Ratcheting "James Bond" Screwdriver but I liked the compactness of the 816 RA model plus it has the rapidaptor hex chuck, and I already have a vast supply of 1, 2 and 3+ inch hex driver bits of various types. The rapidaptor chuck will accecpt any 1/4 inch hex bits, but the chuck mechanism seems smoother when using power bits (with the groove near the base of the shank) rather than 1 inch length bits, which require a little extra force to disengage the lock. So far I have found 2 inch power bits to be most useful in this tool. The 3-1/2 inch DeWalt bits I tried had too much play, and 2 inch bits are easier to find in any hardware store. The handle of the tool is fractionally smaller than I anticipated and also marginally heavier, but it sits incredibly well in the hand and feels both sturdy and well balanced and I soon forgot about my size preconceptions. I dropped 1/2 star from this product since the selection collar which determines ratchet direction will sometimes not turn into position without wiggling the chuck first. This is just a minor frustration right now and I trust it will not develop into a more major flaw over time.

Really nice but the price has more than doubled. I bought these for $35 my last 3 orders here on Amazon. Why are they now $78? Seems like the company is taking advantage.

Si bien no tiene el sistema de matraca más suave (puse de ejemplo el URREA 9315MM o MEGAPRO 211R1C36RD en E.U.), es de los destornilladores de trinquete que más capacidad de torsión ofrecen, en el mismo ejemplo, el Wera ofrece hasta 50 Nm por los 25.42 del URREA, para tener una idea atornillé una pija cabeza hexagonal de 3/8 con rondana para sujetar la manija de la puerta, el destornillador trabajó sin problema, incluso estuvo a punto de perforar el otro lado de la puerta de acero galvanizado (como verás en las imágenes). Instalé abrazaderas Omega de 1 1/4 in con pijas de 1/4 sin usar atornillador de impacto, el trabajo que logras con esta herramienta es asombrosa. Lo que más me sorprende es que el mecanismo de trinquete sigue igual en el día a día, sea rudo o no el trabajo. Conseguí otro destornillador con puntas de impacto Milwaukee para uso personal, además de una matraca para puntas de 1/4 URREA (para situaciones de menor espacio y que requieran mayor brazo de palanca). Conclusión: Lo recomiendo para uso profesional o doméstico, te va encantar.
