Genuine wood at this price is difficult to beat! I have purchased a half dozen of these little tables and all arrived promptly, were well-packed (and accurately packaged!), and all assembled pieces were put together solidly. As the product description states, some assembly is needed, but this takes about ten minutes. Be sure to follow the instructions and look closely at the diagrams so you do not accidentally get the shelf mounted upside down. I recommend staining and/or painting BEFORE putting the table together. Several reviewers have commented about the aroma of the wood used to make these tables. As noted in the product description, the lumber is Lanceolata, or "Chinese Cedar", which is actually a type of cypress, so it is naturally weather and bug resistant like classic American cedar, but the scent is slightly sharper and more pungent - more like fir balsam (think pine cleaner). But once the lumber is stained, the pungent quality lessens. When stained and put together these little tables are very sturdy and quite nice in appearance - in other words, they'll also fill the bill as "end tables" in your living room, not just as outdoor furniture for your patio! Looking for a sturdy little table? Forget that big box store thing made from cheap-o particle board! These are REAL wood!An excellent value for a great little table.

I've purchased two of these. The first was easy to put together with the cam-lock bolts. The table looks terrific in my bedroom beside my recliner. However, when I purchased a second one to use as an end table beside my bed, the assembly process wasn't nearly as easy: one of the cam-lock bolts simply won't lock in, so the table isn't as sturdy as the first one. If any pressure is put onto the table at all, it will lean to the side. I am lazy in the returns department so I didn't feel that the problem was so bad that it needed to be exchanged, and figured that if it gets any worse over time I will just be able to screw it in with a standard screw. Otherwise, the tables look terrific and hold what a table this size would be expected to hold: a full sized place mat (very cute if you put it on at an angle) coasters, drinks, candles, personal electronic devices such as cell phones and tablets. Holds a laptop easily. The cat likes to sit in the bottom and look out the window, too.

I own two of these now. I ordered my first one, nervously, about three months ago. I wanted a good, durable, nice-looking table beside my couch. Something that people could knock over or sit on or move around and bang a bit and I wouldn't fret over the investment.And, man oh man, this was phenomenal and everything I wanted.The wood is beautiful. I didn't have any dings or notches, it came packed in bubblewrap and tightly. The assembly hardware is also super good quality. Strong, easy to assemble. It's a true bolt-hold piece of furniture and holds really tight. I would have no worry or fear of it wobbling for a long, long time.And, honestly, what more can you ask for? A solid table, good looking. I want two more, in truth and wish Northern Tool and Equipment made some other sizes (maybe a 2' tall version or a 3' wide one would be useful).

At first glance, these aren't bad little tables. They're sturdy and easy to put together. But if you look more closely, they're kind of shoddy. There were several cracks and chips in the wood, and the screws just sort of stick out with no covers. I would complain more, but it was a $25 table, and it's about worth that.That said, if you're looking for something inexpensive and practical, this is a great table for that. They're a bit bigger and much sturdier than I expected, and they look really nice after painting. They'll never be show pieces, but they're handy and functional.

I chose these tables because they are made out of real wood instead of cheap particle board. They are assembled in a snap and are really sturdy. I will stain mine a very light honey color and then seal with shellac. Yes, if you are looking for inexpensive end tables that are actually nice looking, you have found them right here on Amazon! I would recommend these to a friend.

Should be possible to give zero stars. Wood was splitting in several places, and that was before (attempted) assembly. Two of the cam locks were bust and couldn't be used. Had to hammer nails in to hold the legs in place, instead. Splinters everywhere, on the ends of the boards, especially. Obviously too much a pain in the arse to attempt a return.

The table is perfect for me. I needed two nightstands so I got two of these and they fit very well. Assembly was easy and only required two screwdrivers. The tables are of solid construction (as long as you make sure you align the bolts correctly and that they're drilled in fully) and were surprisingly completely level upon first build in both cases.I ended up sanding them twice (once with medium grit and again with fine) before staining them with Worn Navy wood stain by Varathane. Then applied polyurethane wax to the outside before one final sand with extra fine sandpaper. Turned out great! Took my $30 a long way.
